I have been breakin out in hives for over a year now. It started on the nape of my neck as tiny white bumps, it has now turned into red hives that itch and now has spread to my trunk and upper legs and arms. A biopsy was done of one of the hives and it came back unidentified. i have been taking fexofenadine and use triamcinolonne acetonide cream but nothing seems to help. I cant sleep or sit still. I scratch until i bleed and then the hives turn into little scabs all over my body.

Let me explain, so I've had every STD/HIV test and even seen a dermatologist who said it's just an allergic reaction, but this has persisted for about 3 months now. Thank you so much for responding. Yes I do take suppressive therapy, but at times I do forget to take the pills which I know is a problem. I have some hormonal issues when I have my monthly period as well, which I know contributes to the EM. I went to the doctor today and had a well woman check up and they suggested I also go to a dermatologist. They gave me a script for Valtrex, not the generic form, to see if that may make a difference. I certainly hope so.

It is a slightly swollen area of my arm, about 2 inches across, and had been painful whenever I used my hand and fingers.
Today the pain has mostly gone away, but has been replaced by a grinding feeling whenever I move my fingers. It kind of feels like a piece of rubber being dragged across a dry surface. If I put my ear up to my wrist, I can actually hear a rubbing sound.
Is this normal? Is there something I can do to help the healing process? Should I be more concerned about this?
You can apply an anti-itch cream or lotion to the affected area. Oral antihistamine, such as Benadryl can also be used. You should take a comfortably cool bath and wear smooth-textured cotton clothing. Covering the affected area with bandages and dressings can help protect the skin and prevent scratching. You should choose mild soaps without dyes or perfumes and use a mild, unscented laundry detergent when washing clothes, towels and bedding.
Other treatment options include oral antihistaminics like benadryl and Claritin or non sedating antihistaminics like zyrtec; Topical or oral decongestants for rhinitis and nasal congestion; topical steroids for skin rashes and itching; oral steroids in more severe cases and bronchodilators in cases of difficulty in breathing and wheezing.

I'm a 23 year old male. Since mid July 2010 I've been having some shortness of breath and dry cough with very little mucus coming out. When the mucus comes out it's clear and in small amount. Initially this problem started after I was out with a few friends smoked hookah. The hookah pipe was dirty and I remember spitting black stuff out from the pipe and then I stopped smoking. I don't smoke normally at all and even hookah once every 3 or 4 months.
Since 6 months m suffering from cold skin allergy and allergic cough with asthma. Im using fexofenadine for cough and levocetrizine for allergy. If i will come to contact with cold immediately i develope hives. And m jus avoiding cold and using those antihistamine and fexa so, what can i do for complete recovery? And my ESR rate is also high its 25 what can i do for that? Need some suggestion for good prognosis.
Decongestants may also be helpful in reducing symptoms such as nasal congestion, but they should not be used for long periods. Cromolyn sodium is a nasal spray (Nasalcrom) for treating hay fever. Eye drop versions of cromolyn sodium and antihistamines are available for itchy, bloodshot eyes.

Hi I have had severe Hives for 2 mos. This is the worse outbreak I've ever had, and my last case of Hives was 9 yrs ago. I was in the ER 2x this past month, put on IV steroids, antihistamines & Ranitidine. I had extensive blood work done for a multitude of alleries- all negative, Lupus, Lympoma, Lymes disease, CAT scan, all negative. I've done 2 rounds of Presnisone (which helped greatly), but 2 days after the last Prednisone pill- boom the hives came back bad.
I am on medication Monteluckast-10mg once daily, Fexofenadine-180mg once daily, Budamate rotacaps-400mg twice daily and Nasal Spray- Azelastine and FLuticasone. I have chest pain in the right side of my chest, it is like piercing something from inside and tightness in the upper part of the chest.

In Chest X-Ray the report is:
1. Increased vascularity is noted in the left parahilarand right paracardiac area.
2.No evidence of filtration.
