Avatar f tn Sometimes double conventional doses of non-sedating antihistamines such as Cetirizine(zyrcet), Loratadine(Claritin) and Fexofenadine may be needed to get symptom relief. Sedating antihistamines such as Chlorphenamine(benadryl) or Hydroxyzine are used at night to get urticaria control. Short courses of oral cortisone or steroids are taken for short periods (one to three days) to settle more severe symptoms. You may take Vitamin C along with the prescribed treatment.
Avatar m tn Would anyone know the difference between Piriton and Fexofenadine? Which is stronger?
Avatar n tn What is better for allergies allegra or claritin? Whats stronger Loratadine or Fexofenadine?
Avatar m tn He prescribed Telfast 180 antihistamines, which seemed to help control my condition, and asked me monitor my food intake over several days to see if any food item was causing my allergic reaction. Every time I thought I had found the trigger, it seemed to fail with the itching not stopping after days of control and monitoring of foods. The same doctor then suggested that I conduct some allergy tests.
Avatar f tn Dr. told the only problem is eyelid inflamed. He gave me TelFast pills, Opticorn eyedrop and Alcon Maxitrol eyedrops for 2weeks. But, I feel my eyes are weaker and blur than usual. I visited him last few days for follow up, but he only tell my eye is back to normal. So, I'll be ok by next week. But, I wonder can my eyes back to normal after treatment. I wonder what make blur and weaker eye?

Avatar m tn Thank you so much for responding. Yes I do take suppressive therapy, but at times I do forget to take the pills which I know is a problem. I have some hormonal issues when I have my monthly period as well, which I know contributes to the EM. I went to the doctor today and had a well woman check up and they suggested I also go to a dermatologist. They gave me a script for Valtrex, not the generic form, to see if that may make a difference. I certainly hope so.

Avatar n tn He did not experience any bone pain until recently accompanied by cold and fever. The bony pain subsided upon taking pain medicine (telfast), but the cold is lingering along with cough and slight temperature. It is also time for him to do his bonescan. He has been in stage 4 for several years. I just want to know what are the typical symptoms of bone metastasis progression and what else could be done to slow it down. I realize he already is on palliative treatment.
Avatar f tn The GP says that stress has caused these hives and so I have been prescribed some antihistamines (fexofenadine) which did not work that well.
