I have a really really bad problem with my skin. Whenever I go outside the sun, or the heater, in general wherever it's hot, my skin gets extremely prickly and it has many red bumps all over my body. I've tried many allergy medicines such as HYDROXYZINE HCL, DOXEPIN, FEXOFENADINE, XYZAL, ZYRTEC, but they didn't help the breakout at all. I think I'm not allergic with anything, because I already took the blood test, and everything appeared negatively.
I have been on many type of antibiotics, use a saline rinse 2-3 times a day, take Nasonex, Astepro, Xyzal, Singulair and headache medicine. Some days are better than other but most days are constant pain, numbness, throbbing. A cat scan showed fluid in maxillary sinuses and some ethnoid sinusitus but my ENT surgeon shows no infection and is now considering a tubinate "snip" as he calls it to because my left turbinate is a bit large.
I have had a problem with hives all over my body for a month or more now. My hands start to itch first, then the bottom of my feet, then my scalp even the inside of my mouth itches sometimes. I'm a hairdresser and suspect it could be the chemicals and shampoos and products. Or could this be a food allergy? I take a wonderful antihistamine called xyzal. It works really well but when it wears off I'm in trouble.
Do you still suffer from an itchy and runny nose ?
If not, maybe it is time to get off of the xyzal tablets , but you need your
doctor's permission and your doctor will tell you the safe way to gradually
get off of this medication. Otherwise, there will no doubt be side effects of withdrawing from this medication which you say you have been taking for five years. Another idea is to check out this website : www.drugs.com.

After 8 months of constant hives, lip swelling, eye swelling and finger swelling, i went to an allergist and got prescribed Xyzal. It worked great for the first 2 weeks and i was over joyed to have my life back! But the past few days, some hives have started to come back. I have been taking benadryl along with the xyzal as needed. I was wondering if I could take 2 xyzal a day instead o 1. The only other medication that I am on is ortho cyclin birth control.
I have been dealing with hives since 2000. All i have to do is be in the sun and i break out. I have tried Zyrtec, Allegra, Singular and now i'm on Xyzal. The Xyzal i only tried one time and woke up the next morning feeling like i was drunk and hit by a train. It left a horrible taste in my mouth. I am so sick of these hives. I'm getting married in August and have a terrible farmers tan and i am asking for any advice on what to do.
He said if itching goes away after four days of using the XYZAL, then I will try Niaspin and see how my body will react.
Now, after using XYZAL for two days, my body is still itching, there is no diffrence yet. I got two more pills of XYZAL. I'll wait two more days and I'll publish my comment about this medicine.

i went to the hospital and the doctor said that i have urticaria, she prescribed me a medicine called fexofenadine. the med is very helpful everytime the rashes appears, i just take the medicine and the rashes will gone but i have to take it everyday, i dont know if this medicine have side effects.
Side effects to ALLEGRA (fexofenadine hydrochloride) include body pain, headache, dizziness, vomiting and diarrhea are the common side effects of this medication. Others are nervousness,sleep disorders or paroniria, and hypersensitivity reactions urticaria, chest tightness, dyspnea, flushing, pruritus and rash. Discuss your symptoms with your consulting doctor he may change the dose or the medications.

Whereas headache and vomiting with fexofenadine. Both are quiet safe and any one can be used for which consult your local health care provider. Take care and regards.
ENT said eustachian tube dysfunction due to allergies (tested positive for various inhalent allergies) and said to use Xyzal and Flonase. Xyzal made me too sleepy so stopped, and Flonase has done nothing. ENT said it would take Flonase a month to clear up the ETD. The constant ear popping wouldn't bother me if it weren't accompanied by the lightheadedness and brain fog, which sometimes by the end of the day turns into a very bad headache and then disappears.

As I told u I visited a general physician without disclosing him STD exposure. Now after taking 3 days medicine proposed by him Atarax and Xyzal. Rather I m now observing general redness of skin on hands also.
Do you suggest visiting skin specialist or any other blood test ?
Now I am taking Fexofenadine Hydrochloride 180 mg (1+0+0), Montelukast 10 mg (0+0+1), Mizolastine (1+0+0) and Avamys (Fluticasone furoate) Nasal Spray. I also have taken Deltasone (Prednisone) (1+0+0) for one week at this month. Is the medication alright?
Is there any way to cure fully?

I took XYZal for 4 days for my Fall allergies. Once I stopped, I developed this maddening itching all over!!!! I went to my dermatologist who prescribed hydroxyzine capsules. The meds help somewhat....but also make me tired so I can only take at night!!! I have been suffering for FIVE weeks. Any idea when I can expect this reaction to end?? Or at least some tips on method of relief? PLEASE!!
the hives lessened but never fully went away. my weight ballooned and i was in a constant stupor and NOT HAPPY. oh noooo. eventually i started bi-weekly sessions of acupuncture which really really helped and finally i was off the medication. i still take a daily xyzal otherwise the hives come back not the anaphylaxis though. it took another 2 years to lose the steroid bloat.
the steroids muck up your system totally. still can't take most dairy products.
abdominal pain loss of appetite and loss of weight 15 pounds in 3 months. discharge with a dough like texture but no smell. I am taking xyzal but my appetite has slowly decreased every day. Now i am to the point that I dont want to eat at all. If I do eat all I want to eat is nuts. Also have been trying to get pregnant for 1 1/2 years after miscarriage.

My nose blockage is getting better (one nasal passage is open most of the time) but I have also developed slight phelgm in my throat (i.e throat mucus).

Thank you so much for responding. Yes I do take suppressive therapy, but at times I do forget to take the pills which I know is a problem. I have some hormonal issues when I have my monthly period as well, which I know contributes to the EM. I went to the doctor today and had a well woman check up and they suggested I also go to a dermatologist. They gave me a script for Valtrex, not the generic form, to see if that may make a difference. I certainly hope so.
No I just started the xyzal and Singulair 2 months ago and I've taken Concerta for 6 years now. The fever has been for 1.5years. I also asked allergist and she said that shouldn't be causing it. The cough we think is from allergy drainage because I live in the south and allergies are bad. The blurry vision started couple months after the new meds and Dr's don't think that there is any connection there, but thanks for the comment. Let me know if you have anymore suggestions! !
Over 5 weeks ago, I took XYZal for 4 days to help with Fall allergies. Shortly after I stopped taking XYZ-al, I started itching all over my body. I went to my dermatologist. she narrowed it down to the allergy medication. Has anyone experienced this reaction? It has been 5 miserable weeks....I am on hydroxyzine pills which make me sleepy so I can only take at night to relieve itching/pinching. I have used multiple lotions. I called manufacturer who really were no help.
