fetal-development

Avatar f tn it is written on the ultrasound pictures. I supposed based on the fetal size, a statistic to check if they are growing normally.
Avatar f tn The fetal heart undergoes a considerable amount of growth very early in pregnancy. The most critical period of its development is between three and seven weeks after fertilization, when a simple heart tube assumes the shape of a four-chambered heart. In fact, the heart actually begins beating by the 22nd day of life.
Avatar n tn The brain contains pockets or spaces called ventricles with a spongy layer of cells and blood vessels called the choroid plexus. This is in the middle of the fetal brain. The choroid plexus has the important function of producing a fluid called cerebrospinal fluid. The fluid produced by the cells of the choroid plexus fills the ventricles and then flows around the brain and the spinal cord to provide a cushion of fluid around these structures.
Avatar f tn is important to fetal lung development. The fetus gets all of its oxygen and nutrients through the placenta and umbilical cord---a process called fetal circulation. Read more: http://www.livestrong.
Avatar f tn Hi! Yes, that is too early to see a fetal pole or cardiac activity. In ten days, you should see a nice change with development of a little "grain of rice" with a tiny flickering heart beat. I wish you the best!
Avatar f tn Both my kiddos had a ton of hiccups. There is an old wives tale . . . lots of hiccups, thick head of hair. That was the case with both my boys! (one came out with a shock of hair that looked like a Mohawk! No joke!
Avatar f tn No its not especially in the first trimester. Rapid development of babies major organs, brain and spinal cord happen in the first trimester. I hear some women have a small glass while pregnant personally I wouldnt but if you were to you should wait at least until the middle of the second trimester. Ask your doctor. It is currently not recommended that any alcohol be taken in while pregnant since FAS (fetal alcohol syndrome) is not completely understood on when and how it all happens.
Avatar f tn The fetal brain may create these cysts as a normal part of development. They are temporary and usually are gone by the 32nd week of pregnancy.
Avatar f tn I'm sorry your feeling scared. The unknown is just awful. A babies heartbeat can be detected by ultrasound anywhere from 5 1/2 to 7 weeks. It can depend on the equipment, the skill of the tech and a host of other things. So it doesn't mean the fetal pole and heartbeat aren't there, just that they could not be detected. Unfortunately the only thing you can really do now is wait. A follow up u/s should be done in about a week and that should give you your answers.
9663463 tn?1407525554 It might just be because they couldnt get all the pictures they needed? I have had one fetal echo so far to look at an echogenic focus. Its a bright spot. I go back again this week (27weeks) to look at it again and rule out if it is a possible tumor which I am praying it is not. Its a simple procedure.
8171562 tn?1408628833 Aww I'm hoping everything goes well. I'm 23weeks2days. I go in for an ultrasound next week to check on my babies heart development and growth..all has been well so far but I still pray a lot that things continue to go good bc I worry a lot about my babies health. Stay strong momma..you and your baby will be just fine.
5194006 tn?1380819887 Hi everyone, At my last ultrasound when I was 17 weeks, my boyfriend mentioned to the ultrasound technician that he had a heart defect when he was little and had open heart surgery because of it.
Avatar f tn I personally think it's selfish and foolish to drink during pregnancy. Your putting your baby's health at risk and fetal development during the first trimester is crucial. Any alcohol use during pregnancy can result in a child being born with FASD. To me it's not worth the risks.
Avatar f tn Fetal development continues together with hCG production. – Day 10: Fetal development continues together with hCG production. – Day 11: By this time onwards, hCG levels are high enough as to be detected by means of a pregnancy test. I hope this helps i i have been around for a long time. I have seen many less than stellar embryos turn into the most beautiful babies. keep faith. sending a ton of baby dust your way!
Avatar f tn m 6 weeks pregnant at the moment and i thought everything was going find until i got a call from my hospital telling me they needed to schedule me for an earlier appointment because when reviewing my ultrasounds they saw a problem with the fetus development. does anyone have any idea what this can mean? I would really appreciate it if you can help.
Avatar n tn NO WAY! Why would you want to try and give birth so early? Your baby needs to stay put and finish development. I don't believe in Castor Oil at ANY stage of pregnancy. Baby will come when BABY is ready. Delivery before then is NOT safe unless there are extenuating circumstances like Eclampsia or Fetal distress. Castor oil rarely kick starts labor and will just cause you more grief from having to use the bathroom so much.
1287128 tn?1331134538 they were wondering about twins because of my rapidly growing hCG. He only saw one sac he said he saw what looked like a fetal pole it was very hard to see anything.. i'm just confused i don't think i had an ultrasound this early with my other two.. anyways.. you could see a black dot (the sac) then small white blotches he said one looked like the fetal pole then there were two other dots relatively close together..
Avatar m tn They do not have any long term studies to show the effects on fetal development. My current dr says the same thing, when pg stay clear of it as possible.
