Avatar f tn Breathing in the Womb Babies do not actually breathe in the womb---at least, not in the usual sense. Fetal lungs are not fully functional, and are not even able to fully expand, until after birth. During the later stages of gestation, the fetus may "practice" breathing by inhaling and exhaling amniotic fluid. The fetal lungs do not process the amniotic fluid, the way fully formed lungs process air, but experts believe this "breathing" is important to fetal lung development.
Avatar f tn s actually really common, almost all babies have it while in the womb they just happen to see some on the u/s it usually goes away by the time they are born. They are probably going to do an u/s to make sure there is no deformities of the hands so don't be alarmed. My oldest had 2 of them and they went away when he was born, this pregnancy little man had two also and I'm 35 weeks and they are gone now.
Avatar f tn My opinion is the baby in your womb grows a fine hair all over its body but falls off before birth there for baby might have had more hair before the baby came out
Avatar f tn 20 mm Fetal heart rate: 164 bpm, the other one is 33,7 X 18,4 Fetal length: 16,7 mm Yolk Sac: 5,9 mm Fetal heart rate: 166 bpm Also embryon1 age is 10w3d but embryon 2 is 9w2d. I'm very concerned. Are those differences ok? The next ultrasound is in 10 days and the wait is killing me.
Avatar f tn 6 months of continuous bleeding after a miscarriage is not normal - you need to go see your doctor a.s.a.p - you may still have some fetal tissue stuck in your womb.
1431138 tn?1294566894 I always thought the genitals didn't start to develop in utero until week 14? Is that right?

Avatar f tn Hey Luv...I'm a professional photographer we usually suggest babies under two weeks mostly because they small, still really haven't noticed their not in your womb, and dont move much, less stress baby and parents. But I do understand many parents think its too early its up you on how you feel.. I took my daughter at 5 days, amazing pictures..
Avatar m tn Being hypothyroid will likely make it harder to conceive, yes. But more importantly, once she does become pregnant, low thyroid hormones will definitely impact the developing fetus. The earliest stages of fetal development is the time when it is most critical for the mother to have sufficient thyroid hormone. http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/24015847 "Conclusion: Early TH [thyroid hormone] insufficiency from maternal hypothyroidism affects offspring hippocampal development and memory.
15695260 tn?1549593113 Recent research has proven one risk for our children to have Autism and that is high levels of estrogen in the womb. For a very long time, the cause has been widely unknown and that this factors in is an important development in autism research. Prior studies had already implicated higher uterine concentrations of male sex hormones -- androgens -- in increasing the odds and now researchers and doctors have more information to better understand autism.
Avatar f tn im in late pregnancy & my baby jumps at any loud noise. happens everyday. i googled baby getting startled in womb in late pregnancy & some of the results showed Foeral Alcohol Syndrome & damage to central nervous system... should i be worried?
Avatar f tn ) by the way, they can easily fix the valve problem by putting one in, and placing a patch over the hole in the heart. Sometimes in these situations babies are born with a PDA which normally closes at full term, it's a vessel that goes between the heart and lungs and in babies with heart issues, sometimes it's benefitial to keep it open a little longer and it can be done with a stent type device I think.
Avatar n tn She went to the doctor and the doctor who did a scan of the womb first of all said there is a thickening of the linking of the womb but that he doesn't think it's cancer (he showed her all the scan pictures too), but he has referred her for a D and C (she has to have a general). She is very over weight. Bit worried that he didn't think it was cancer yet has referred her for more tests. If he thought it wasn't then why would he refer her for more tests? Any ideas?
Avatar f tn Some moms can feel their babies move as early as 13-16 weeks from the start of their last period. These first fetal movements are called quickening and are often described as flutters. It may be difficult to determine whether this feeling is gas or your baby’s movements, but soon you will begin to notice a pattern. First-time moms may not feel these movements as early as second-time moms. Some moms, especially those in their first pregnancy, may not feel movement until 18-20 weeks.

Avatar f tn m 6 weeks pregnant at the moment and i thought everything was going find until i got a call from my hospital telling me they needed to schedule me for an earlier appointment because when reviewing my ultrasounds they saw a problem with the fetus development. does anyone have any idea what this can mean? I would really appreciate it if you can help.
Avatar f tn You can't have late term abortion, after 5 months that's illegal, baby is fully form. And it is a possible chance that a unborn baby of 27 weeks can live outside the womb, but it would have to be in the hospital for a while. There's a facebook page "prayers for emily" she was born 26 weeks at 2 pounds, she is now 6 pounds, she's in the hospital still but she did survive, she may have some medical issues but she has shown very good progress for a preemie.
Avatar f tn I was just wondering how long can a baby stay inside a mother womb? Because I'm 39+5 days now and since my next appointment is next week Thursday which I would be 40weeks and 5days. I was just wondering how long can a baby stay inside mother womb? Since I'm over my due date. ( my due date is the 12th but than they change it to the 10th than back to 12th than the 10th so I'm guessing my due date would be between there)...
Avatar f tn Near the end of pregnancy babies practice flexing facial muscles as well as crying. They obviously do not breath and make noise in the womb so it is a diffrent type of crying but they absoloutly do practice crying. It is not known why but they do.
