Common Questions and Answers about Fetal development nervous system pain

Avatar f tn The fetal heart undergoes a considerable amount of growth very early in pregnancy. The most critical period of its development is between three and seven weeks after fertilization, when a simple heart tube assumes the shape of a four-chambered heart. In fact, the heart actually begins beating by the 22nd day of life.
Avatar f tn re full of folic acid (critical to fetal brain and nervous-system development) and vitamin B6 (which might help ease morning sickness). 3. Eggs: they deliver one of the best sourxes of protein, a key building block of baby's cells. 4. shrimp: these swimmers are a low-mercury source of healthy omega-3 fats, vital to your little one's brain and eye growth. 5. low-fat greek yogurt: you'll typically get more protein than regular yogurt and bone-building calcium.
690470 tn?1227322107 Some people would say yes that they feel pain. I would think that once the nervous system is fully developed that it is quite possible that the baby does. Around week 18 is when the babies nervous system is developed enough for movement and it just tends to get stronger from there (baby movement that is). However, baby is so well cushioned that it is unlikely to feel pain from the outside. I would assume that your doctor is keeping a close eye on you. Be sure to keep up with your kick counts.
Avatar n tn Hi, “A demyelinating disease is any disease of the nervous system in which the myelin sheath of neurons is damaged. This impairs the conduction of signals in the affected nerves, causing impairment in sensation, movement, cognition, or other functions depending on which nerves are involved”.
Avatar m tn We have had such great luck overcoming these things though by addressing his nervous system through occupational therapy and then carrying that over to home. Then with a few classroom modifications----- he's doing great. Look up 'sensory processing disorder' (spd is a great website) and see what you think. I'll post a bit more in a bit.
Avatar f tn This class of medications works by changing the way the brain and nervous system respond to pain, but it has addiction potential. It is indicated to treat moderate to moderately severe pain. What are you taking this medication for? Are there other safer alternatives for you to consider during pregnancy? If you are pregnant, especially the first 12 weeks, it is best to avoid any medicine that can bring potential harm to your baby, unless the benefits outweigh the risks.
20857594 tn?1543810386 You have given excellent information and we appreciate the journey you have taken with the health of your nervous system. Are you working with a neurologist? That is really essential in providing you with the right diagnosis and management plan as well as any questions you may have. What is their synopsis of the things you have been diagnosed with and have regarding your nervous system?

Avatar f tn My MRI also showed I have a central nervous system lesion. Does anyone else have this or know what it is or if it is caused from the chiari.
Avatar m tn It can lead to fetal lung underdevelopment, central nervous system problems, heart problems, and has even been linked to fetal death. Bottem line: NOT safe during pregnancy.

Avatar f tn I'm 25 weeks and I'm having a boy. Ive been admitted in the hospital on bed rest. My cervix ephased .9 and I'm dilated 2 centimeters. I've been given a fetal lung development shot to help my baby's lungs develop faster. Has anyone been through this too? I'm nervous because I'm high risk for preterm labor. Any advice?
Avatar f tn Hello Dear, Klippel-fiel Syndrome is caused by a failure in the normal segmentation of the cervical vertebrae during the early weeks of fetal development. Features include a short neck, restricted mobility of the upper spine and a low hairline. Any of the cervical vertebrae can be involved but the commonest fusion is of C2,3 Clinical presentation is varied because of the many associated syndromes and anomalies that can occur.
