Common Questions and Answers about Fetal development nervous system

fetal-development

Avatar f tn The fetal heart undergoes a considerable amount of growth very early in pregnancy. The most critical period of its development is between three and seven weeks after fertilization, when a simple heart tube assumes the shape of a four-chambered heart. In fact, the heart actually begins beating by the 22nd day of life.
Avatar f tn re full of folic acid (critical to fetal brain and nervous-system development) and vitamin B6 (which might help ease morning sickness). 3. Eggs: they deliver one of the best sourxes of protein, a key building block of baby's cells. 4. shrimp: these swimmers are a low-mercury source of healthy omega-3 fats, vital to your little one's brain and eye growth. 5. low-fat greek yogurt: you'll typically get more protein than regular yogurt and bone-building calcium.
Avatar m tn We have had such great luck overcoming these things though by addressing his nervous system through occupational therapy and then carrying that over to home. Then with a few classroom modifications----- he's doing great. Look up 'sensory processing disorder' (spd is a great website) and see what you think. I'll post a bit more in a bit.
Avatar f tn m 6 weeks pregnant at the moment and i thought everything was going find until i got a call from my hospital telling me they needed to schedule me for an earlier appointment because when reviewing my ultrasounds they saw a problem with the fetus development. does anyone have any idea what this can mean? I would really appreciate it if you can help.
Avatar n tn Hi, “A demyelinating disease is any disease of the nervous system in which the myelin sheath of neurons is damaged. This impairs the conduction of signals in the affected nerves, causing impairment in sensation, movement, cognition, or other functions depending on which nerves are involved”.
Avatar m tn It can lead to fetal lung underdevelopment, central nervous system problems, heart problems, and has even been linked to fetal death. Bottem line: NOT safe during pregnancy.
Avatar f tn I'm 25 weeks and I'm having a boy. Ive been admitted in the hospital on bed rest. My cervix ephased .9 and I'm dilated 2 centimeters. I've been given a fetal lung development shot to help my baby's lungs develop faster. Has anyone been through this too? I'm nervous because I'm high risk for preterm labor. Any advice?
690470 tn?1227322107 Some people would say yes that they feel pain. I would think that once the nervous system is fully developed that it is quite possible that the baby does. Around week 18 is when the babies nervous system is developed enough for movement and it just tends to get stronger from there (baby movement that is). However, baby is so well cushioned that it is unlikely to feel pain from the outside. I would assume that your doctor is keeping a close eye on you. Be sure to keep up with your kick counts.
670260 tn?1231560840 i read the bulletins about what fetal development should be at but they all very so much from site to site that I still don't have a clear understanding. i know that probably sound nieve but I just want to make sure that I am covering all bases and that nothing goes unchecked or undetected. Thanks!
Avatar f tn t heard of any clearing you in the first trimester because your babies brain and nervous system are growing rapidly and this is when environmental factors can have an effect on how their brain develops
Avatar m tn Unless you're speaking for someone else --- or unless there is something you haven't told us -- you're talking about getting someone pregnant as opposed to "getting pregnant". The adivce, as already stated, is the same as long as one of the partners has taken ribavirin within the last six months, therefore the recommendation for two kinds of birth control during this period.

Avatar f tn The baby only measured 1cm which from my research isnt as big as most are this far long however Im not panicking about that as Ive been told all fetal development is different. Ive also taken some comfort in how nauseated ive been which to me is a good sign, but not so fun! So as of now I am relaxed and excited!!
Avatar n tn If you break embryonic and fetal development into thirds then when you are in your 28th week the baby begins its final third of development. (Gestation is 266 days or 38 weeks of development). So either way you look at it you are in your 3rd trimester!
Avatar f tn 20 mm Fetal heart rate: 164 bpm, the other one is 33,7 X 18,4 Fetal length: 16,7 mm Yolk Sac: 5,9 mm Fetal heart rate: 166 bpm Also embryon1 age is 10w3d but embryon 2 is 9w2d. I'm very concerned. Are those differences ok? The next ultrasound is in 10 days and the wait is killing me.
