fetal-development

Avatar f tn The baby only measured 1cm which from my research isnt as big as most are this far long however Im not panicking about that as Ive been told all fetal development is different. Ive also taken some comfort in how nauseated ive been which to me is a good sign, but not so fun! So as of now I am relaxed and excited!!
Avatar f tn The fetal heart undergoes a considerable amount of growth very early in pregnancy. The most critical period of its development is between three and seven weeks after fertilization, when a simple heart tube assumes the shape of a four-chambered heart. In fact, the heart actually begins beating by the 22nd day of life.
Avatar n tn i m worried, kindly advice me how to increase the fetal growth and if it is harmful for the fetus to be lagging by 2 weeks.
Avatar f tn re full of folic acid (critical to fetal brain and nervous-system development) and vitamin B6 (which might help ease morning sickness). 3. Eggs: they deliver one of the best sourxes of protein, a key building block of baby's cells. 4. shrimp: these swimmers are a low-mercury source of healthy omega-3 fats, vital to your little one's brain and eye growth. 5. low-fat greek yogurt: you'll typically get more protein than regular yogurt and bone-building calcium.
Avatar f tn Any amount can put your child at risk. Fetal alcohol syndrome can affect their growth and development.
1133565 tn?1261315212 i went for my first scan 2 days ago where i found out i was 6 weeks and 4 days. the docter never told me the rate of the heartbeat but did show me on the screen. 'my baby' measured 8mm at this stage is that normal? because ev everyone im speaking to says it is far too big and should be around 5mm.
Avatar f tn Sounds like the growth of baby is progressing normally, the only thing I hadnt heard of either was the "tail". Below is a complicated quote that mentions the growth and then regression of the "tail" during early fetal development. Do you have a follow-up US to monitor things? Your HCG levels and observation of HB are very encouraging. "the rostral neuropore closes and develops into the forebrain prominence and then the head.
Avatar n tn 3rd u/s and still no development, no fetal pole seen and i am 10 weeks now according to my LMP. Thank you all for your advise and concern, tomorrow is the DNC, i guess i knew what was coming over the last 2 weeks so i feel prepared.
Avatar f tn There is feeble faint heartbeat with fetal development, but doctors are concerned as the baby din show any progressive growth since last 1 week. Only the fetal pole has started showing more prominently. I am very worried. This is scary as i had a spontaneous abortion in only 5 weeks few months back. I wont be able to take a second blow. Request you to give some insight. I have been given a week to observe. I want it to happen.
2107796 tn?1336744317 s were found in the poles. I am booked in for a repeat scan on Tuesday 8th to see if any growth/development has taken place. My heart tells me the little one has stopped completely. But i am still hopeful for the bigger one. The way the doctor was talking sounded more like they think both have stopped and the second scan is to be 100% sure before offering a D&C. After reading a lot of similar discussions i am a bit confused why my HCG levels haven't been checked.
Avatar m tn - Fetal Growth : findings suggest IUGR,when compared with LMP. - Placenta : position posterior, maturity grade 0 - Doppler of umbilical artery : a large sub-chorionic hematoma is noted.indicates increased flow resistance (RI=0.78) Comments By Doctor : A large hematoma is present in one sub-chorionic region of placenta, measuring 12.9x 3.1 cm; indicating placental abruption.it appears responsible for increased resistive index and IUGR.
Avatar m tn Yes, adequate thyroid hormones are essential for the growth and development of a fetus; however, the main hormone you should be concerned about is the Free T3, which is the hormone actually used by individual cells, while FT4 is considered a "storage hormone". Many doctors are reluctant to treat thyroid issues when lab results are "in range", as yours are.
Avatar f tn I was sent to a fetal medicine dr as well as a diabetic educator. The fetal medicine dr is monitoring my sugar and the baby's growth. I still see my regular ob as well.
8171562 tn?1408628833 I go in for an ultrasound next week to check on my babies heart development and growth..all has been well so far but I still pray a lot that things continue to go good bc I worry a lot about my babies health. Stay strong momma..you and your baby will be just fine.
Avatar f tn However, the mass now cannot be seen on ultrasound at 28 weeks yet another cause for concern has arisen. During my 25 week ultrasound it was noted that the female fetal head was lagging behind in growth (about the 8th percentile) while the rest of her body was growing normally. Now at 28 weeks her head is still behind in growth (one measurment three weeks behind and the other four) while her body is measuring normal for 28 weeks!
Avatar f tn So I was scheduled another ultrasound today I should be 8 to 9 weeks since lmp we seen a larger sac, about 8 weeks 3 days, a shadow of a yolk sac, but nothing else. No heartbeat. No signs of a fetus or fetal pole. After the first ultrasound, I was told there was not enough development to determine viability. Again, 10 days later, same story, but sac growth. I just want to see if anyone else has dealt with something like this.
Avatar f tn t really OD on vitamins your body uses the vitamins it needs and you pee out the rest, prenatals are just a complete vitamin to sustain fetal growth and healthy development I read nothing about special medicine in my kind at least..
Avatar m tn im 13 weeks based on LMP but ultrasound result is 6 weeks and 4 days with no fetal heart beat yet noted. I;ve been undergo for 5 ultrasound and no answer yet and schedule for another ultrasound next week.
Avatar f tn Most ftm don't show till later on.
Avatar f tn m 6 weeks pregnant at the moment and i thought everything was going find until i got a call from my hospital telling me they needed to schedule me for an earlier appointment because when reviewing my ultrasounds they saw a problem with the fetus development. does anyone have any idea what this can mean? I would really appreciate it if you can help.
Avatar m tn Malabsorption during teens/puberty can arrest overall growth—height, frame, body structure, gonadal development etc. Hence, a person may have less prominent frame—including facial frame. However, if a small frame runs in families, then this can also be a contributing factor. Another possibility is vitamin D deficiency, or a bone disease. It would be best if you could get a doctor to examine you and see whether you need investigations. Take care!
Avatar f tn I did a search and found this regarding what an ultrasound would show at 5 weeks on *****************.org "Week 5 - Gestational Age (Fetal age 3 weeks) Development The gestational sac is often the first thing that most transvaginal ultrasounds can detect at about 5 weeks. This is seen before a recognizable embryo can be seen. Within this week, at about week 5 ½ to the beginning of the 6th week, a yolk sac can be seen inside the gestational sac.
