Avatar n tn t think we will be able to see baby at this point, just sac. He also said that my hcg numbers need to be around 1200 for them to see anything via ultrasound. So it's good they are doing bloodwork.
Avatar f tn Thanks a ton for calming me down. It's just super weird that's all..i mean its easy to have simple healthy pregnancy but to live with the nightmare of slightest complications in the baby. Also sometimes the stresses accumulate. I am hoping for good news tomorrow. Its the ultrasound day.
1339501 tn?1285439404 Last week I had my first ultrasound. My HCG had gone from 7500 to 16000 in 48 hours and from my LMP I should have been 7 weeks 6 days, but the u/s showed just a sac, no yolk sac, no fetal pole, no heartbeat. I was online constantly researching u/s's, fetal development, and what I should have seen (the fetal pole, the yolk sac).

It helps men to have adequate testosterone levels and sperm counts. The least amount of Zinc per day should be 15 mgs. I read on and great resources of Zinc are fish, oysters, crab, turkey, chicken, and beef. It was also noted in the article that there have been conflicting opinions about fertility boosting foods.
Avatar m tn How dose the research and pharmaceutical community come up with that determination as to the ear mark or low risk of birth defects?
Avatar f tn I can tell you, From experience that a baby's heart is fully developed by week 18, which is why doctors do fetal echos between 18-24 weeks, it's the soonest they can visualize the heart without the bones getting in the way or "shadowing" it, and also the latest for them to detect holes and other issues. There are many cases when a baby has a hole or two early on and as the baby grows and the heart continues to grow the holes close or get smaller on their own.
Avatar f tn I was always told it was ok, but now I hear that it's not. Best bet would be to ask ur doctor! To me it's not worth the risk of baby being born with fetal alcohol syndrome. To oppose what was said above me, alcohol won't cause down syndrome, that's a chromonal defect that happens at conception.
Avatar f tn s September 4th, especially since that was an early scan and babies that early follow a very specific development pattern so early ultrasounds are pretty accurate. It would have to be around the Sept. 19th date. My due date is June 18th and I'm pretty sure I conceived either Sept. 25th or 27th.
Avatar f tn Just to be clear...in addition to the IUI, you have been having intercourse? If so, yes, there is a very slight chance that the IUI didn't result in conception but that you conceived later in your cycle through regular intercourse. It is a long shot...but there have been rare cases where a women ovulates more than once in a cycle (I have a friend I met in nursing school whose twin sister and she would conceived two weeks apart...
Avatar f tn I purchased it on amazon for about $25 and it was worth every penny!

1310824 tn?1332377629 This uses actual developmental stages to divide up a pregnancy. From LMP to 12 weeks the embryo develops all the major organs and becomes a fetus. From 12 weeks to 27 weeks the fetus continues developing and reaches viability. From 27 weeks on the fetus finishes development and prepares for delivery. Here the second trimester begins at 12w 0d and the third at 27w 0d. by Gestation: With this method you take the 40 weeks of gestation and divide by three.
Avatar f tn s IQ (intelligence) by about 10 points, so it is most likely negatively affects fetal brain development. I do hope that you are eating right and exercising but you also want to stay away from all unneeded drugs and alcohol while you are pregnant and nursing or mothering young children. Please take good care of yourself and that way you can be sure you are taking the best care of your child.

Avatar m tn As of today, I am 4 weeks from date of conception (yes, I know when it was precisely). I went to have an ultrasound yesterday and she was unable to detect a fetal pulse - She was able to see the sac and yolk, but could not detect the pulse. (Initially this ultrasound was scheduled to just confirm that I am in fact pregnant). I am now very scared that this is not a viable pregnancy - I am going back in 3 weeks to have another ultrasound done. Am I overreacting by being this scared and upset?
Avatar f tn is important to fetal lung development. The fetus gets all of its oxygen and nutrients through the placenta and umbilical cord---a process called fetal circulation. Read more: http://www.livestrong.
Avatar f tn 6 and my Dr said it must be at least a 2.0. My doctor decided to wait another 10 days to do another amnio. The results from that amnio was a 1.4. So now obviously my Dr thinks my later due date is more accurate. I was just wondering if anybody has ever had fetal lung results that decreased instead of increased?
1472764 tn?1287588186 They go by gestational age, dating from the first day of your last menstrual period. Fetal age is from date of conception. The reason doctor's use gestational age is because MOST women don't know when they conceived but do know when they had their last period. Since ovulation is usually around day 14, fetal age is approximately 2 weeks less than gestational age. I thought that was really weird...
