It takes something extra (androgens) for males to differentiate as male around the sixth week of embryonic development. Once androgens (most notably, testosterone) kick in, the vagina seals up and your penis and testicles form. That line is the scar left behind when everything seals up. BTW: all birds and reptiles are just the opposite: male is the default setting.

You go by the medical way of counting. I even have a book that says things like (in big letters) Sixth week and then in little letters (Fourth week since conception). All the milestones for a developing embryo are listed using the medical way of timing a pregnancy.
she said that it measured 3mm and at this size she would expect to see a heart beat, got to go back into weeks but her opinion was that i would miscarry, but she could be wrong. i went thru this exactly 12 months ago but there was no fetal pole at all and it went on for over 2 months till i did eventually miscarry. the waiting is drives me insane.
You count it by the 10 months or 9??? I don't understand why some count it by 10 months??

Choroid plexus cysts (CPCs) are cysts that occur within choroid plexus of the brain. The brain contains pockets or spaces called ventricles with a spongy layer of cells and blood vessels called the choroid plexus. This is in the middle of the fetal brain.
s really no way to prevent a miscarriage especially if it happens in the first 3 months they say if it happens that early there was something wrong with the baby but you could have your doctor check if your hcg levels are rising normally if not you can talk to your obgyn about being put on progesterone it helps with the fetal development it strengthens your uterus and cervix too I got put on it with this pregnancy because I miscarried twice good luck try not to stress on it it's not good for
Had my early scan on 4th jul. Vaginally. Nurse could see sac. No fetal pole. She dated us but said it could to a week either way. I had sickness. Swollen tender boobs and period cramps for first coupled of weeks. Sickness went and I got cramps only at night when in bed tender boobs a few times. Sickness has returned weaker but I've got a strange tender tight feeling in my abdomen below my navel. I had not bled at all. Anyone had this and am I miscarrying...
If you break embryonic and fetal development into thirds then when you are in your 28th week the baby begins its final third of development. (Gestation is 266 days or 38 weeks of development). So either way you look at it you are in your 3rd trimester!
20 mm Fetal heart rate: 164 bpm, the other one is 33,7 X 18,4 Fetal length: 16,7 mm
Yolk Sac: 5,9 mm Fetal heart rate: 166 bpm
Also embryon1 age is 10w3d but embryon 2 is 9w2d. I'm very concerned. Are those differences ok?
The next ultrasound is in 10 days and the wait is killing me.
