fentora

624839 tn?1221807899 I am currently battling Recurrent Ewing's Sarcoma and to manage the pain I am on Fentora (Fentanyl Buccal tablets). No matter how drowsy this medication makes me sleep just doesn't exist with me. I was curious to know if anyone knew if I would be able to take Fentora and another medication containing Diphenhydramine to help me gain sleep as well. I have spoken to my Dr.
Avatar n tn There is now oral Fentanyl in a dissolvable tablet called Fentora but it is indicated only for cancer pain. However, there are a few patients with chronic non-cancer pain that have been prescribed Actiq (the fentanyl lolipops) or Fentora if and only if all other treatments failed and they are experiencing intractable pain, also known as suicide pain.
Avatar f tn I mean, I know Oxycontin is slow release, but percocet is Oxycodone and how is that different from the Oxycontin? I thought they were the same only, one was slow release and one was not, but there must be another difference... Right?
478387 tn?1210762308 Find a great pain management doctor, one that understands the depth of your pain. I know how excruciating the pain can be! I am on oxycontin and fentora (for breakthrough pain), after many trial and errors on other medications. The drug therapy will at least let you function as an individual. Things that work: 1. Massage your head. Sounds wierd but it helps. 2. Pain meds. Take them when you are in pain. 3. Rest, rest, and more rest. The more excercise, the worse the headache. 4.
667913 tn?1242700488 I think one is just time released (oxycontin) while the other is regular but you know it is really easy to find this info on the internet -- just google it.
1264863 tn?1391118193 I started Jan 9th and I was taking 60mg of OxyContin. This week if my first week off and I feel better than ever. I am clear, stopped forgetting things, I'm happy! And best of all I have LESS pain! I am still taking some Oxycondone for pain when needed but that is it. Anyone who is thinking of tapering, DO IT! You won't regret it!
Avatar m tn Simvastatin 20 mg(1T QD), Diazepam 10 mg(1T TID), Opana ER 40 mg(1T BID), Atenolol 100 mg(1T QD), Lunesta 3 mg(1T HS), Cymbalta 60 mg(1C BID), Fentora 800 mcg(1T BID PRN), Fentanyl Citrate 1200 mcg(One lollipop QID PRN). He was OK for a couple of months but yesterday he started acting weird again. Slurred speech(more than usual), lack of balance, forgetfulness, etc. How can I prevent future episodes from happening? Please I need help.
210982 tn?1280983895 Yes although dosage and frequency of usage does matter. In my experience morphine, high dosage oxycontin and methadone are the most effective (and the most addicting) pain killers.
1151955 tn?1262643533 My insurance stopped paying for brand oxycontin so I was switched to Methadone for pain management. My mood definitely changed on those. It was awful. So I went back to the oxycontin and pay out of pocket. We all react differently so you very well could be reacting to the oxycontin. However taking a medication and having to take more than what is prescribed is not good for you long term. You need a proper pain medication so you don't need to take more medication than you need.
Avatar n tn at 16 went back on the pain meds because i just couldnt take the pain and tried to start with lower dosed ones like nucynta 100mg, ultram taking 250mg at a time then went back to the 10mg norco moved back up to the 10mg percs then they added the 30mg oxycontin back it was just a horrible cycle well last october i had a bad flair up and was scared because my doctors didnt really communicate with me they just throw scripts at me well i found a good doctor who put me on 30mg ms-contin 3 times a da
Avatar f tn That is not the case if you taking the 80 mg and the 40 mg 3x per day. That is 120 mg x 3 or 360 mg of Oxycontin per day vs. 120 mg per day. Let me rerun the conversion calculator... So if you remember I converted your total daily dose of Fentanyl to Oxycontin and it came out to be 210 mg of Oxycontin. That is 150 mg of Oxycontin less than what you were taking through Fentanyl vs. 90 mg of Oxycontin more than you were taking.
582937 tn?1218177043 SUV -vs- Nissan and I lost. Three herniated disks and Fibromyalgia on top of that. I tried various (read taht every) opiates until we found Oxycontin. Finally! So for seven years I've been on this stuff-- when I have it, it's a miracle and when I don't it's a nightmare. I have also been using cannabis tea to help (a lot) with several Female Conditions. For years.
1456870 tn?1304129806 I have had 5 spine surgeries. 2x failed micro diskectomy, L3-L4, L4-L5, L5-S1 PLIF, 1x removal of hardwear, L1-L2, L2-L3 fusion. So either way my back hurts constantly, as it should after all that. I have struggled with alcohol abuse, and medication abuse. I have about 6mth's free from drinking, not a problem, i just feel better. Now I am currently taking pain med's, Oxycontin 60mg 1am -1pm, and Oxycontin 40mg 2 @ lunch. I can say it has helped the most with the pain.
Avatar m tn have a question to any oxy snorter out there. Why do you snort them vs. chewing them? I don't understand the difference. Is it a stronger rush or just a habit or is it the titual you like? Just curious, let me know if you have an answer?
1529480 tn?1291877134 SInce I was so used to percocet and it worked, she put me on oxycontin. That worked great. I felt so much better. Unfortunately my insurance won't pay for it and I can't afford $218 a month for it. So my doctor put me back on the ****** morphine. I thought I would give it more of a shot. Well 15 mg. doesn't work so she had to bump it up to 30. I hate taking the 15 let alone 15 more every 8 hours.
Avatar f tn I just joined this site a few seconds ago so I can post this question, but I have been looking to this site for info for about a week. I didn't even realize I was addicted to hydrocodone until I got withdrawls from not taking them. I took hydros after my c-section about a yr ago, then after another surgery 2 mos. later due to complications of the c-section, and now I am taking them for a broken knee. Anyways, I've ended up totally addicted!
Avatar f tn you may want to consider switching to something like MS Contin or OxyContin (two long acting meds) and continue with your roxicodone for breakthrough...but again, all of these are risky if you combine them with a muscle relaxer/anti-anxiety like Xanax....only you and your doctor can determine if you can safely combine them. And if you're truly in doubt about the safety or wisdom of combining them, ask a pharmacist!
Avatar f tn ve got to get past this hold on my body and my life. I have been on Oxycontin for three years, with OxyIR and sometimes Norco for breakthrough pain. Every time I want to decrease dosage, I have another injury or problem.I was in an MVA, and have had several surgeries. My husband went through withdrawal a year ago from MS-Contin. He had started to turn into an old man taking the pain pills. It was hard watching him.
Avatar m tn hey maybe you can tell me what would be good to take for pain I had ADR surgery 4 years ago, since then they have been switching my meds around and I want to stop taking anything with Tylenol in it. They have me on 30 mg oxycontin, twice daily, 10/325 percocet 6 a day, soma 4 times daily and xanax 2 mg for anxiety. What are my options for the breakthrough pain, that is what I am taking the percocet for and I need to stop with the Tylenol already enough is enough.
