Fenofibrate generic dosage

Common Questions and Answers about Fenofibrate generic dosage

tricor

Avatar n tn Fenofibrate in combination with a Statin drug can cause severe Rhabdomyolysis. I know because I have gone through it. My muscle pain got so severe that I couldn't even move my arms and I wound up in the ER with kidney (also a muscle) pain so severe, I was climbing the walls.
315318 tn?1353251800 You may want to ask your doctor about a less powerful statin than Crestor to use along with a fenofibrate, perhaps a generic Zocor (simvastatin) at the same dosage. This may lessen the side effect. The easiest way to control TGLs is to eliminate empty carbs from your diet like breads, pastas and sugars. Also, if you drink, stop as alcohol metabolizes as sugar and has an large impact on serum TGLs.
Avatar n tn You can ask him to have you try Lipitor (generic) and there is now a generic Niaspan. I know because my husband is on it. You should try to change your diet to no oil and more plant based less meat or no meat and whole grains. You actually will get enough protein. No cheese because that has loads of fat. That will help with the cholesterol, blood pressure and weight. If you don't want to that is ok. I have a website you can read or a book www.drmcdougall.
Avatar m tn I have noticed since I began taking fenofibrate that I experience cloudy urine after I eat certain foods. It only happens the first time I uninate after eating these foods and becomes clear thereafter. It seems that it is triggered with creamy and greasy foods. Is there cause for concern? Thank you.
Avatar f tn I hear this quite often. Next tie you speak to your doctor ask about Zocor. There is a generic called simvastatin and it is very cheap yet very effective. Also, the additional med that your doctor was talking about is most likely a fenofibrate like Tricor which is commonly added to a statin med. I am on both and they have worked very well for me with no side effects.
Avatar n tn There are all kinds of statins out there, as ed said, you have to find out which one you tolerate. I have been on them for many years as I was unable to lower my LDL with diet and exercise alone. They have worked well and I have had no side effects, but everyone is different. Most of these can be replaced by the generic Simvastatin. It's cheap and is the basis of many of the meds out there.
Avatar m tn Is there a low cost generic medication that has a low cost and can be paid for out-of-pocket without causing much financial stress. I take several medications from the generic class and while they are covered (in part) by my insurance the cost is small enough it wouldn't be a big problem if I didn't have insurance help.
Avatar n tn I take synthroid and there is no generic for it. Maybe the new med is generic and less potent at the lower dosage.
1134609 tn?1269272200 I have never had any luck when I have been placed on the generic brands of medications. Celexa especially; I was on it for 10 years, tried the generic several times and paid for it. 3. I have also been on Neurontin for the past 10 years. In a past post, I wondered if they decrease in dosage is what was causing me so many problems. However, I am back on the brand name of the medication and there's a HUGE difference between the two.
Avatar n tn My mother has been on 75 mg of Tenormin for years. She just changed to generic atenolol and is complaining of sleepiness. Could this switch be responsible? Why?
Avatar m tn my mother,55y, she got her lab result with rising in cholesterol and triglyceride about 3month ago. she started to take fenofibrate 200mg once a day. and now new lab result show normal range of all types of fat. does she need to continue with a maintenance dose of fenofibrate or it isnt necessary?
315318 tn?1353251800 Recently , I was prescribed a fenofibrate (Trilipix 135 mg) along with Crestor. My cardio wanted this for helping in getting my triglycerides down. I have not had a lipid profile done since starting on this med two months ago. However, since being a diabetic , I check my blood glucose (BG) many times during the day and what I am noticing is a clear trend in the BG numbers going lower at least over the last month or so.
Avatar f tn Is anyone out there taking Teva's version of Nexium? I'm to the point now where I can't get the brand. I was astonished to see that this generic version's co-pay through my insurance is so high! $80 for 90 days. I could understand this price for the brand, but for generic? Anyway, I had tried this version as I had to with my last insurance, it and I didn't do as well on it. I tried it for a week. I an wondering if it was just my imagination.
Avatar f tn if you can maintain on the dose that is lowest, then that will be the best, as suboxone is addictive and a very strong medication. While suboxone is very useful and really does work, one must work with the lowest dosage possible. Keep trying with what you are prescribed. If it is too low, let your doctor work with you to get to the right dose. In the end you will be much better off. Keep posting, everyone is here to support you.
Avatar m tn I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism in November of 09. I was initially put on 100mcg of generic Levothyroxine (can't remember what manufacturer.) I did not feel much difference in the following months. Shortly after I was diagnosed I lost my health insurance so any follow up tests had to be postponed. I continued the 100mcg dosage though. Fast forward to this past month. I have been employed and am currently signed up for a reduced care program.
Avatar m tn Doctor has now advised for Thyronorm 100mcg daily one in the morning and Tab. Modlip-F (Atrovastin and fenofibrate tablet) one at night. I had undergone tests again in September after using the above tablets for 2 monts. My current readings are as follows: T3 = 0.95, T4 = 10.5, TSH = 3.10. And all my chlesterol levels are perfectly well within the limits. Now my doctor has advised to continue with Thyronorm 100mcg daily and Modlip-F on alternative days.
Avatar m tn I've been taking Nexium 40 mg. for about 4 years with no side effects. I was recently switched by my doctor to the generic brand Esomprazole Magnesium & have a very dry mouth. Is it possible it is from the generic med?
Avatar f tn If you switch brands from generic to Synthroid, the dose would remain the same unless your doctor changes your dosage for some reason.
Avatar f tn Is anyone getting ringing in the ears from taking Generic Wellbutrin(Bupropion sr ) 150 mg. Here is my situation I have been on amitriptiline 25 mg 4 years then went up to 50 mg for 3 years. I started taking only one 150 mg of bupropion sr this is my 5 day. Can I stop taking the amitriptiline with no withdrawls after only 5 days of Bupropion? or has it not been long enough. I hoping that I can stop the amitriptiline by taking the bupropion sr in place of the amitriptiline.
Avatar f tn He was VERY adiment that when I go to the pharmacy to pick up my prescription to check it out BEFORE I pay for it because he wrote NO SUBSTITUTION and does not want me taking the generic for it. My insurance is denying the brand name and I am fine paying out of pocket for it for now, but would like to resolve this issue. Is there a difference in the brand name vs the generic???
Avatar n tn I was just wondering what dosage of Armour Thyroid other Hypothyroid patients were on? I understand it can be somewhat difficult to establish the correct dosage. I have read some patients started at 15mg while others started at 60mg but not what dosage they ended up with or how long it took them to arrive at an adequate dose. I was also wondering about the 'empty' stomach recommendation.
