391060 tn?1204749484 My next cycle which should be coming up here soon weather on my own or with Provera which I am suppose to start tomorrow if my cycle does not start today we are going to try Femara. I was wondering if anyone has had any luck getting pregnant on it? I am really hoping I respond with this. My Gyno told me that I should have a better shot with this then with anything else I have tried I really hope he is right.

Avatar f tn I did avoid clomid this time inorder to avoid another set of twins (I do understand this could happen with femara too). I am blessed to have twins, but carrying twins were hard on my body and they were premature. I would like to avoid the complications that come along with it.
1351105 tn?1277142905 In late August 2010, my gyno did an ultrasound since I was in a lot of pain on my left side to find that I had a 2 centi. tumor inside my left ovary, it was non-cancerous luckily and went away on it's own in November 2010. We discussed some of my issues together, ran some tests and found that I am unable to ovulate on my own since I cannot have a period on my own.
Avatar f tn t give Femara, but our new highly respected RE is putting me on Femara and has very high hopes. He said in some studies Femara is 2x more likely to result in pregnancy. Wish me luck! Any others had success with this vs clomid?
5143114 tn?1364237535 My period started coming on its on about a month and half after taking my last birth control pill. In December, my gyno put me on Metformin 750mg 2 times a day. Then in January added 5mg Femara (days 3-7), also did that in Feb. Then this past month (March) she uped me to 7mg of femara (and still taking Metformin, too). My 21 day Progestrone levels for December was 2.87, January was 1.76, Feb was 7.87, and this last one was 9.
337111 tn?1266946623 Hey lady. I hope my story is hopeful and gives you something to look forward to! We have a 5 year old daughter who we conceived the first month without birth control and have been trying for #2 for three years this month.
341207 tn?1224245896 af came yeasterday exactly on due date this was my 11th mnth of ttc ( natural no meds) i am starting to think something is wrong i did see a gyno a month ago who did a brief internal u/s and said everything looked good so there shouldnt be any problem with me conceiving so why cant i? and all i have done is had 2 day 23 prog.
Avatar f tn Have you tried Femara or clomid? I have PCOS and fail to ovulate. No periods, missed periods are common for me as well. The doctor can use ultrasound and blood work to check for this. I used clomid and got prego with twins first try, I am now using Femara to try to for another. Your doctor can use Provera to help you start your cycle as well. I would make an app. asap. You have been trying for a year now so they should help you. You might not need in vitro at the point.
1767573 tn?1313710908 I get irregular AFs too. My AFs don't come but once a year if I'm lucky. I have been on Provera every other month and did about 4 rounds of Clomid with serious side effects and failed to work. Took a break from fertility drugs. Started Provera up again the last week of July and did Femara from cd3-7 and got a positive OPK on cd 8 and 9, and O'ed on cd 10. First time I O'ed in a long time. Every women is different. Do you also check your cervix?
Avatar f tn In regards to ttc, I have been on the highest dose of clomid, have been on and am still on provera and metformin. I am now on femara, the lowest dose 2.5. I have only done one round of femara and am on the provara now so hopefully this next round of femara will be upped. I have done some reading and I want my doctor to run a test to check my adrenal gland, but I don't want to be rude in asking him to do so, what should I do.
1434731 tn?1382722384 Okay well thats because you havent started the process why dont you try using femara or clomid before juming straight to iui
1019279 tn?1252587122 I have unexplained infertility, all tests point to healthy eggs, ovaries, and I ovulate. Are you seeing an RE? I went to a gyno for 11 months and he had me on Femara. I went to an RE and was pregnant within 3 months, he increased my doesage and ordered a trigger with timed BD. Have you had an HSG?
Avatar n tn I was on Clomid for 2 cycles (now on Femara) and found that Clomid consistently delayed my cycle 4-5 days. I would recommend getting a blood test at your Ob-Gyn (or RE's) office, as a blood test is more sensitive than over the counter pregnancy test sticks. A beta (blood) test is what confirmed for me that I was not pregnant, but rather just late. I then got my period 2 days later (4 days later than I normally would have if not taking Clomid). I hope this helps, and good luck!
Avatar f tn Hey girl!!! How have you been? Been missing talking to you lately! Clomid - no side effects that I noticed. DH noticed I was B****ier (is that a word). But I didn't really notice _ HA go figure! I didn't O at all (PCOS) until I was on 100mg. Then at 150mg - think I had two eggs. Clomid by itself doesn't seem to help me at all. I O but still think my eggs need that extra PUSH from the injectibles. We will see I guess - think I just Oed so maybe my eggs are alllllll that bad!
566175 tn?1278430472 Once I started having tests run by the RE, the insurance quit paying. I would run as many as possible thru the gyno and have them write it so insurance covers it. The tests and treatments are very $$$ out of pocket. Every u/s I have is $125 and I can't even afford the injectables. They are in the thousands, plus monitoring. Since insurance is an issue, I would have the initial labs done at the gyno and take it from there. At least you have a starting point.
Avatar f tn Okay this is werid for me to speak about because im so new to this fourm and have been trying for so long. I went to my Gyno the other day and told her, im having trouble getting preg and she said okay and RX'd me provera. She told me that take the meds same time everyday for seven days and then wait for my period and then call as soon as i start bleeding(no matter if its spotting or like a gush) she wants me to call.
Avatar f tn My cancer has been controlled all these years with anti estrogens. Lately my Onco/gyno has left me on Tamoxifen when in the past I would take Arimidex when the Tamoxifen ran out. Whenever it runs out I fill up with ascites. It is usually honey colored when it is drained. This time it was a deep red. I have been loosing blood to the point that I have had to take blood transfusions. Where does the blood come from?
Avatar n tn I was on the pill for several years then I got off about 6 months ago. My periods have always been irregular and I've never known why until about 4mnths ago Doc told me I had PCOS. So I don't get it. The pill gives us false periods just so we can clear the uterus linning to lessen the chances for utero cancer and things of that nature. I'm ttc and doc put me on femara and metformin. He said PCOS makes me insulin resistant and the metformin should help with that.
Avatar f tn is this true?? if so why does my Gyno even have me go do blood work on day 21...if the clomid is not in full force yet?? Has anyone ovulated past day 21??
1351105 tn?1277142905 My cd 1 started on Aug 6th with the help of provera. CD3-7 was on Femara, CD 8 and 9 received +ve OPKs. Was confirmed by u/s of O. I must be out of my mind right about now but since 2DPO I started having strange symptoms, cramping, headaches and tired all the time. 4DPO, breast tenderness, cramping, headaches, nausea, low grade fever, tiredness backaches, frequ. urination(since 3DPO).
Avatar m tn immediatly after he took it he started developing gyno. it has been 4 days. when do you think they will stop growing? and he bought an anti estrogen+test booster. will will start taking in 2 days. how fast should these go away. the product is supposed to superb good for this.
Avatar f tn ) I am trying to conceive now for 18mths, i went to a natropath last month and he put me on chaste berry tablets or otherwise known as vitex, i took them from 27th july up to 15th august then stopped, i went to see a gyno in that week and he put me on clomid tablets i started taking them on the 19th - 23rd august and then went back on vitex on the 27th august until now.
Avatar f tn ve been trying for a year and a half and still not pregnant (no previous children). My gyno ran some tests and I look healthy. She said my estrogen was slightly high and my test results were indicative of mild PCOS. I've had my menses every month, though, and the ovulation kit has always indicated ovulation, so my doctors are not concerned. Also, my husband had a semen analysis and his results were healthy.
Avatar f tn A question for you Femara ladies - did you notice any changes in when you ovulated while on Femara? I am starting my first Femara cycle in two days (I am CD1 today, doing Femara CD3-7) and just wondering what to expect. I usually ovulate CD17-19. Does Femara make you O earlier, later, about the same? Thanks for any insight!
Avatar f tn If everything did indeed point to PCOS, I would recommend Metformin and Femara to help you ovulate. Often we do start with Provera as Tah8307 suggests--this has the effect of cleaning any old build up out of the uterus so that there won't be heavy or irregular bleeding when the periods do start. I don't know if you are overweight, but if so, losing only 10% of your body weight can really help, and will also improve your fertility and pregnancy outcomes. Good luck!
