I am a 20 year old college women and between last summer and this summer I have experienced 3 fainting spells, all under different conditions. The first two I feel like I have a basic understanding of why they occurred, but will share them anyways as I am concerned that my most recent one has no explanation.
Avatar f tn The amount of blood in your body is increasing and that is usually what causes it. If it happens a lot you should definitely go in and get some blood work done. But if it's just once in a while just try and be safe and bring it up at your next doctors visit.

At the time of her fainting, the teacher was showing pictures of the muscle structure of the knee and pretending to do "knee surgery." At the hospital my daughter's blood work was normal, her urine showed a significant UTI, her cat scan of her skull came back normal, and she had no heart rate problems via ultrasound.

Since you are in your 2nd, you may want to call your doc and see what he/she says. Oh, and make sure you are drinking plenty of fluids. This could also be caused from dehydration.

This is more or less normal. Diagnosis is usually confirmed with a head up tilt table test, where he's "flipped" from supine to standing position when EKG and blood pressure is measured.
