Common Questions and Answers about Fainting and vomiting during pregnancy

fainting

Avatar m tn Yes, my mom has been vomiting everyday for about a month and a half and has fainted during the middle of the day, in the shower, while walking, and in the middle of the night. She just did it again a few minutes ago, so I gave her some ginger ale a water and aspirin and she is now resting (under my close watch). Please anyone out there if you can help please respond. I can't only have one parent.
Avatar f tn Sounds like Vasovagal Syncope. Secondly, have you been to a physician after this last episode? Any medications ever prescribed for this?
Avatar m tn Thanks for your theory i have been to 2 different gastroentologists and had a endoscopy (which discovered i still had food there after a day of fasting) and i have had a gastric emptying test but it found nothing :( all the doctors i have been to just say they don't know ive had a fainting disorder (for lack of better words) since i was 4 and over the years more and more symptoms keep popping up, the vomiting etc.
Avatar f tn Immediately following throwing, I felt very light-headed and sick to my stomach. I ended up vomiting. After sitting down for a bit, I felt much better and was fine for the rest of the day apart from getting very out of breath(I have asthma which I don't take medicine for, so this was not surprising). Today, we had our second practice. We did the same warm up drill, and following throwing, I again felt very light-headed and sick to my stomach. It was worse this time and my pulse was racing.
126762 tn?1325261805 Low blood pressure, low blood sugar, lack of protein, dehydration are all likely culprits. Fainting is quite common during pregnancy but is something she should mention to her doctor.
5441854 tn?1371187494 I am 25 weeks and I'm just getting over being nauseous, dizzy, fainting like a week ago and I know people that were that way for just as long. The doctor told me it was normal. Hopefully you'll get over it soon!!
Avatar n tn I was in the beginning of my first pregnancy and was put on a high dose of iron pills.

917177 tn?1243354247 Is it normal for one to experience lightheadedness and fainting during menstruation? It's happened to me so many times before, typically as soon as my period/cramping starts I'll feel lightheaded, sweaty, and I'll fall to the floor and sit with my head on my knees. Occasionally this happens in the shower, or upon standing up if i wake up with my period, or even if it starts while I'm seated during a class.
Avatar f tn now i missed my period about 10 days and i did urine pregnancy test which also comes to negative but i m feeling pain as well as i m feeling like fainting, vomiting and also white fluid is dicharging from my vagina. Are these symptoms of pregnancy? Will i be pregnant? What should i do i am very tens and confuse...
Avatar f tn That does happen to some people during pregnancy. The increased blood volume in your body can do that. Or if your glucose level gets too low. Even getting too warm can cause it. Try and drink more water and maybe eat some healthy snacks throughout the day. I would mention it do your doctor though just so they are aware of it.
Avatar m tn am 22 and 3 days pregnant but am having alot of dizzy and sometimes feel like fainting, high heart beats which make me breathlessness or suffocating, too much heart burn and too much heat in the feet plus weakness, tiresome and laziness which make feel like i did many activities throughout the day This discussion is related to Horrible Pains .
Avatar f tn Has anyone passed out while pregnant? I had a scare the other day at work. I'm 17 weeks pregnant and it's my first pregnancy. I went to the ER and they ran a bunch of tests and made sure the babies heart beat was ok. The conclusion was that I was dehydrated. Drinking more fluids especially water is so important during pregnancy. They said it's really important to listen to your body. If you need to rest than rest. Lesson learned.
Avatar n tn Dehydration
Avatar n tn ) I think I pass out mostly due to me having really low blood pressure during pregnancy.. I would talk to your doctor about it of you're worried.
Avatar n tn Muscle jerking is very common during a fainting or near-fainting episode. It is also common for people to faint after a meal. If she continues to have these episodes, then I think you should inquire about having a tilt table test. You can find out more information about this here: http://my.clevelandclinic.org/heart/disorders/electric/syncope.aspx Goodluck.
10777943 tn?1412955415 I'm the same, I get terrible fainting spells during pregnancy. I know its not low blood pressure because I've had preeclamplsia through both pregnancies but interestingly my iron levels have been really low particularly this pregnancy. I had an iron infusion last week and haven't fainted since. Maybe get your iron checked?
Avatar f tn 2nd day of vomiting and fainting. Tried to call ob and he's not working til tomorrow. Tried to call on-call ob and no answer. Called the hospital and they told me I probably have a virus and they don't want me infecting the other pregnant women! Too bad my bp keeps spiking and I've already been diagnosed with preeclamplsia. What am I supposed to do now?
Avatar f tn ve been having bad nausea throughout the day and sometimes it even wakes me up during the night with a feeling of fainting in my sleep and then having to get out of bed and throw up. This has been happening for the last week and a half. My OBGYN told me to stop my vitamins and take just folic acid for now as the iron in them could be making matters worse. I have tried ginger and all that I could find info on, but nothing seems to make any difference!
Avatar f tn My doc sed eat protein nd less Carb customer my body releases tons of insullin nd causes fainting. My friend fainted during pregnancy for being anemic nd iron deficant.
Avatar f tn Remember, this is temporary. The pregnancy causes nausea and vomiting on its own and you are at the point in which that would typically start in a pregnancy. When you take the pills to induce abortion/termination, it throws those hormones a bit more out of whack. This can include nausea and vomiting. I'm so sorry about that. I would just do your best as you've already started the process. Keep hydrated and take it easy.
Avatar f tn To be fair, I had fainting problems in church before pregnancy, but then it happened maybe once a year and I always knew how to avoide it by being hydrated, cool, and not too hungry. It is unavoidable now.
Avatar f tn I had horrible timing with my fainting spells last pregnancy. I was always really sick with morning sickness and once I passed out while on the stairs and fell down half of them. Woke up at the bottom of the stairs so confused. It's an unfortunate thing but also a bit normal. The amount of blood in your body is increasing and that is usually what causes it. If it happens a lot you should definitely go in and get some blood work done.
1923882 tn?1352250106 Lightheadedness and fainting can be common during pregnancy. Sometimes it is due to low blood sugar, and sometimes it is caused by moving to fast or standing up too quickly. If it happens alot then you may want to go get checked.
Avatar f tn With my first son I gained 30 pounds but this pregnancy is completely different, back pains, nasua and vomiting since my first month, lack of appetite etc.... is any one experiencing this too?
