Common Questions and Answers about Exenatide on glycemia

Avatar f tn I have told the Doctor about eating tuna only and she seems to agree with me that I have hypo-glycemia although it has gotten worse, but as long as I eat the tuna on time I am fine and feel well both mentally and physically. I have tried eating other foods, but no luck and only have to eat the tuna soon after to feel well. I have never had the long and complete testing done for hypo-glycemia although I have blood sugar testing which is always normal between 70 and 90.
Avatar n tn t eaten well yesterday before going too the ER also--and they said it has too be retested often--I have too return on Tuesday for classes and return too ER if any problems. Avatar n tn Sounds like a good idea, Eric. Only it isn't only sugar you need to control it is all carbohydrates; cut down on things like bread, rice, cereal, pasta and potatoes and eliminate sugar. Reactive glycemia, if that is what you have occurs after high carb meals.
Avatar n tn I've been diagnosed with adrenal fatigue and recently diagnosed with diabetes. I've have symptoms of hyper/hypo glycemia for years. I'm a 51 years old female, fairly active, normal body weight. I've been closely watching my eating habits and have observed that about 30 - 45 minutes after consuming food (salads, yogurt, soups, generally a very healthy diet) I get an intense rush of heat which lasts about 1-2 minutes. The heat is experienced in my face and chest.
Avatar n tn Can somebody to help us with some test strips boxes for a low price? My girl measure glycemia times every day and she has 4 shots with insulin. Insulin (Actraprid and Mixtard 30 is free with recomendation for our doctor. But, test strips or meters no. Please inform us about how we can manage this problem? Thank you very much, Maria's mother.
Avatar n tn I have been getting black outs, its like I stand up and cant see ANYTHING for a few seconds even though I am concise then I feel light headed, fatigued and dizzy for a few minutes then I am fine. I have had a history of hypo glycemia and my mom thinks that is what causes it! HELP I dont feel okay with his happening and she keeps putting a doctor visit off. Can any one help? Its been about 2 years and seems to be getting worse~ What do i do?
Avatar n tn Teach her to put her head between her legs or to lay flat on the floor with feet slightly raised when she feels a spell coming on. Different things can cause the vagal response for different people. My doctor also didn't seem concerned, but it is a very frightening experience. Best of luck to you and your daughter.
Avatar n tn I'm wondering why for years my stomach has felt really funny mostly in the morning and mostly mornings that I am really cold. Its not really pain, its not exactly nausea, It just feels funny. Also, if i eat certain things in the morning when i feel like this it makes me feel even worse, kind of like I'm going to throw up.
Avatar m tn 0 I read in a health magazine that the values had changed and were now 3.0 so I printed the article that New England Journal of Medicine did on the new lab changes and took it to my doctor. She was skeptical but did a trial run and monitored me closely. I spent 4 months on synthetic thyroid medication, had energy to exercise, lost 60 lbs, quit taking naps, didn't suffer from being cold all the time, nails weren't brittle anymore, and my horrible cramps and heavy flow disappeared.

Avatar m tn - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Exenatide. Getting control on the right-for-you medication is not easy. I have beed T2D since 2007 and have been on a number of different Meds, some of which seemed to work but then longer term had problems. You must keep you chin up and work with your dr. to find the best contol for you. Good luck!
Avatar n tn I think she must do a complete study of possible causes of hypoglycemia, there are some other endocrine deficiencies, certain disorders of the adrenal glands and the pituitary gland that can result in a deficiency of key hormones that regulate glucose production. I would recommend her to do much more tests (when the glycemia is low) to find out (exclude) the causes (ex. of some tests: insulin , C peptide, cortisol, ethanol, Hemoglobin A1c ....) .

Avatar f tn does anyone think there is a possibility of this and that my symptoms are related to something else? i am trying not to dwell on it, but it is interfering with my life at home. if someone can help, it would be great!
Avatar n tn Prozac can pack the pounds on you as well. I have several friends on it And that is one chief complaint. It also interacts with Thyroid problems and can make them worse although some Endo's might dispute that fact. It affects suger levels, hypo-glycemia and diabetics. Its called reactive- hypoglycemia if you want to research it....good luck and I hope this helps you!
Avatar n tn I have done every test possible including tests for heart, lungs, thyroid, diabetes, glycemia, various cancers, brain (MRI), etc. Everything basically. And nothing has showed up except that I was low on vitamin D. I have now discovered that I've developed a caffeine intolerance/allergy. I used to drink lots of coffee, caffeinated pop and have now cut it out. But when I sleep and sometimes lie down, the episodes sometimes come back.
Avatar n tn After a marathon in 2006, I noticed little bright spots in the center of my vision while I was jogging. I can see it better on bright surface, or in the sky for example. I still can see but it is weird like hyper sensitive vision.. it is quite circular bright points, when I blink I can see it clear, if I run faster the more it appears, it disappears when I rest, few minutes.
Avatar f tn For the last 3 weeks the face numbness covered my whole left side, i feel my tongue swollen but it looks normal, when I touch my face I feel the presure but I cant tell the texture, I cant feel the taste on the left side of my tongue and I feel something like an electrical impulse on the numb side. Also, another brain MRI showed 2 nonspecific demyelinating lesions (0.4mm and 0.8mm) on the supratentorial white matter and ethmoiditis.
Avatar n tn (this can be a problem for some diabetics) My sugars were a roller coaster for most of my life w/ both hypo and hyper glycemia until I went on the pump about 7 yrs ago. My hemaglobin when they first found out was 12 way to high, now it runs 6 to 6.5, my endocrinologist is very happy with the results. Since I went on the pump I was able to eat when I wanted to -- given my daughter was in gymnastics and I could never eat like the doctors wanted me to.
Avatar f tn You never know with this stuff, anxiety makes us depressed, depression makes us anxious. And it can go on and on. And I sympathize with your withdrawal, Paxil withdrawal really did a number on me. Good luck with your holistic therapist. If you have questions about any natural remedies and such, join us on the complementary medicine forum, and try a book called Natural Highs by Hyla Cass. But take it slow -- don't expect sudden fixes and you won't be disappointed.
221122 tn?1323011265 Hi Dr. Vinrod~I agree, starving never works, I would never do that, besides, having hypo-glycemia, I couldn't. I am working on stopping all desserts, starches unless they are of the veggie form, and junk food, beside, they are not healthy anyway. I will also try to increase my exercise as well. Thanks for your reply.
Avatar m tn Thanks for the comments Light Seeker, I appreciate you taking the time to respond. One of the doctors that I saw did consider polydipsia but it was ruled out because my sodium levels were normal. They were normal, however, because I've given up on excess drinking – I don't really care about the thirst anymore but it's the affects on my head, my ability to think, and the burning that drive me up the well and those are helped not at all by drinking in excess.
Avatar f tn Hello...I have posted on here before just for some guidance and I recently read through a lot of the heath pages (great information), but one thing I can't seem to find info on is the symptom pattern. I know each person is different and I know that many people experience relapse and remission. So my question is if someone has symptoms that mimic MS for years and they never really go away (just let up a little for maybe a few hours) is this still possible in MS?
1010161 tn?1251921429 Many of the regulars here on the Forum have come to hate the word "normal". I know that doctors use it to denote that the test results fell somewhere within the very broad range. This means very little relative to what is most important, which is symptoms. We really need to know about your symptoms and look at the actual test results and their reference ranges .
