Avatar m tn - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Exenatide. Getting control on the right-for-you medication is not easy. I have beed T2D since 2007 and have been on a number of different Meds, some of which seemed to work but then longer term had problems. You must keep you chin up and work with your dr. to find the best contol for you. Good luck!
Avatar m tn I was on birth control pills for years and they never made my tumor grow - so what type of tumor does she have? I had surgery for my endometriosis a couple of times. I will say that the pituitary may mess up her hormones enough that having a child may be impaired and depending on the type of tumor, for instance if it a prolactinoma, having a child will make the tumor grow.
Avatar m tn Based on a non-contrast tumor done on Jan. 18 2008, I was diagnosed with either a vestibular schwannoma, meningioma, hemangioma or lypoma brain tumor on the right cerebellopontine angle cistern. What are prognosis and treatment options for the latter two? Are they the same as with the vestibular schwannoma and meningioma? Your input is greatly appreciated.
Avatar n tn Psudo tumor is not a tumor, and I know at least one other person that had both but her tumor was Cushing's and her tumor was all over the place as well. It is seen so that is strange. If it is wrapped around what you say - if there are not any operable parts then they are going to send you straight to radiation... so none of the prolactinoma meds are working to reduce the size at all? Or are the side effects too much?

Avatar n tn I was recently diagnosed with a pseudo tumor cerebi and had an mri done and discovered that I also have a pituitary tumor. I had a spinal tap done but I still have headaches and nausea and tingling in my fingers, feet and lips. Does anyone else have both of these issues? My doctor said it's rare to have both. I'm not sure if having the pituitay tumor removed will solve any issues.
Avatar f tn Yes, treatment changes a bit if you want children still as the surgeon may be less aggressive but then the tumor may keep coming back and you may have repeated surgeries. Some tumors can be treated with medications so you have to know what type of tumor this is. You may think you have no symptoms, but hormones are more subtle - fatigue, acne, aches, lactation, lack of libido, hair loss, etc, can be symptoms.
Avatar m tn I recently (1 1/2 months ago) had a brain tumor removed and am wondering if it is possible the location of the tumor may have triggered the attacks. I have not had an attack since the surgery but still have constant fear and anxiety that I will have another.
Avatar m tn Once you get your 22 meld exception points and then have your tumor treated do you loose your exception points after your tumor is no longer 2 cm?
1198742 tn?1293503376 This is why people who develop HCC are listed for liver transplant once their first tumor reaches 2.0 cm and even if that tumor or any tumors are totally obliterated by treatment (no tumors are seen), the patient will continue to accumulate HCC exception points every 3 months because the risk of developing new tumor and the cancer becoming untreatable is very high. This is how I and everyone else who got a liver transplant for HCC did it.
Avatar m tn With a normal CT and MRI and exams and the symptoms you list in your first sentence it is extremely unlikely that you have a brain tumor or optic nerve tumor. If you have not see an ophthalmologist or neuro-ophthalmologist consider seeing one. Find one at www.aao.
Avatar f tn no just hypothyroidism and a cushingoid tumor.. they keep testing me for hirschprung's and keeps ruling it out i do have chronic constipation sorry to mislead on the hirschprung's.
Avatar f tn My sister 42 years, has got after 7 years metastasis from her breast cancer on bones and liver. She has 5 metastasis in the liver and in the hip. She is Brca1 carrier and the tumor is HER2 negative. She is on a palliative treatment and has passed three cycles of chemotherapy: docetaxel plus avastin (each cycle after 21 days). Apart from that she has got 10X radiation (max dose) on the right hip.
Avatar f tn Please take your MRI and your tests and go to a pituitary center where you can find a competent neuro-endo and a good surgeon to remove that tumor ASAP so you don't have to get radiation too. Post or write to the expert surgeon here - he would not let you wait at all... Larger tumors can be non-secreting but in that case they are removed due to size. What your doc has said is not reasonable. Find another opinion.
Avatar n tn I only had one spinal tap so far that confirmed the pseudo tumor diagnosis. The pressured was measred at 320. I had an mri and a catscan done and they discovered the pituitary tumor there. I guess my question is that I don't know when I need another spinal tap done cause the symptoms of the pituitary tumor are very similar to the pseudo tumor. I hate going to the hospial and spending like 10 hours for them to just put me on morphine and not give me a spinal tap. Its just so frustrating.
Avatar n tn Hi, According to the latest National Comprehensive Cancer Network (NCCN) guidelines, the recommended treatment for ductal carcinoma in situ (DCIS) is either mastectomy alone or lumpectomy plus radiation. Radiotherapy is added to the lumpectomy because it decreases local recurrence rates by 50% compared to lumpectomy alone. Lumpectomy alone, without subsequent radiotherapy, may be an appropriate treatment if the DCIS is considered to have a "low risk" of recurrence.
4522616 tn?1355854775 I had been seeing numerous psychiatrists since the beginning of this summer, with diagnoses of major depression and generalized anxiety disorder. However, after treatment was not favorable, I was somehow led to have an MRI done in September. The MRI found that I had a microadenoma (6.5mm) on my pituitary gland. After blood tests, it was found to be prolactin producing (it was above the normal range, but not I guess not high enough to be initially concerning).
Avatar m tn Surgery was scheduled to remove it through her sinus. During surgery it was discovered that the tumor was too hard and too larger to remove. They left it in with plans to check it yearly for growth. Some months ago she became confused and nauseous and vascular shunts were put in to drain the fluid. They went back in 3-4 times to adjust the shunts as my aunt did not respond and became more confused.

Avatar f tn WBC 16 (range is 0-10) and five others are high. I do have a pit tumor but dont think they are related. Low grade fever, very very tired, major night sweats as well. My wbc has been high all my life (38) now. My feet turn purple for no reason and rash on the bottom of my feet. Joints and muscles hurt. My hands go numb and tingle. Doc is sending me to a cancer clinic because of CBC results. Should I be concerned?

Avatar f tn ve been birth control - free for I think five years, tumor- free for three and a half years, and my tumor seems to have come back. I mean, I haven't had my appt yet but I'm lactating... so I think it's back.
Avatar n tn Turns out my testosterone level is low. Actually looked at my bloodwork records just prior to tumor removal and all hormone levels were WAY OFF - They have all seemed to come back to normal levels with the exception of my testosterone. My surgeon is referring me to a endocrinologist. Working on making an appointment now. Has anyone else experienced a low testosterone level after this tumor removal and if so what course of action did you have to take?
Avatar f tn My dog Jake had 2 seizure 1 on Friday.we took him to the emergency animal hospital try did a blood work up and gave him valuia he was ok on Saturday Sunday and Monday most of the day we went to are vet that day she check his blood pressure and it was normal but we didn't do more blood work because his other work did have very elevated levels only slightly that thought it might be do to the seizure .
Avatar n tn 5 years old, in February 2008 she was diagnosed with a 4cm brain tumor, the whole tumor was removed and it was a benign tumor a choroid plexus papilloma. After the surgery she was left with a permanent facial palsy on her right side and also has no feeling in her face we have had a nerve study done that shows the nerves are completely dead. she has also lost the hearing on the right side from the nerve being damaged during surgery.
