1689024 tn?1308326866 If you have drug coverage you should ask your doctor about a product called Lunesta (Eszopiclone) which is available in the U.S. if you live elsewhere then Google "eszopiclone" to see if it goes under another name where you live. This sleep aid is designed for those that cannot stay asleep as opposed to a different sleep called Ambien (Zolpidem) in the U.S. which is used for those that cannot fall asleep without great difficulty but are able to stay asleep once started.
Avatar f tn The half-life of a drug is how long it takes for half of it to be eliminated from the bloodstream. Hope that helps.
6298176 tn?1380134459 It has a very long half life, though I can't give you specifics. The dose and how long you were on it does factor in. Your doctor should be able to help you with your questions on this.
Avatar n tn Also, he mentioned a flimsy urethra is this fixable or am I gonna have it for the rest of my life? If so what precautions should I start taking? I am currently taking Chloral Hydrate 500mg, Ativan 2 mg, Lunesta 3mg. I know these do/can mess with CNS but could they do anything to my kidneys or bladder etc? Sorry so many questions, I was quite embarrassed.

Avatar n tn It can be a side effect of Ritalin (methylphenidate), Adderall (dextro/levo-amphetamine) and Lunesta (eszopiclone) and other prescription drugs or of cocaine or amphetamines. (Accordingly, it goes by the slang term "coke bugs".) Formication can also be a withdrawal symptom of weaning oneself off cocaine or amphetamine. It can also accompany alcohol withdrawal in alcoholics, along with delirium tremens.
1084115 tn?1385228589 The mean half-life for multiple doses in the body is about 12 days, but very long-term kinetics are dominated by the kinetics of RBCs (half-life 40 days). RBCs store ribavirin for the lifetime of the cells, releasing it into the body's systems when old cells are degraded in the spleen.

Avatar f tn The half life of a chemical is the time it takes to break down become inactive. If the halflife is 10 hours then in 10 hours half the substance will be out of your system...in 10 more hours half of that..whick would be 25% would be left ..then in 10 more hrs 12.5 and so on . Hope it helps.

1246883 tn?1285547973 I definitely do not recommend ambien or lunesta, for long term treatment of insomnia. They have a very short life in your body and it which builds up tolerance quickly. The so called "z" drugs ambien and lunesta (zolpidem, zopiclone, zaleplon and eszopiclone) are for short term insomnia only. I tried zolpidem, zopiclone for about 1 year and quetiapine (seroquel) for 2 years and definitely seroquel is a better option.
Avatar m tn there are people that live years and years with stage 4 COPD so just keep living. See the glass as half full and not half empty. Hang in there and get busy doing the things you like. Easier to say than do but honestly people are amazing and scores on tests just cannot tell you how long you have.
202665 tn?1248806733 It depends on the half-life of the drug. One half-life means half of it is out of your systems, the second half-life means half of that half is out, and so on. It is generally accepted that after 7 half-lifes that a drug is entirely out.
