938326 tn?1300878804 ) I will have 4 children altogether when this one is born, 13, 12, 1, and newest. I want to go on some kind of birth control that wont have long lasting effects if I decide again to have another. I am unable to take the pill. I have read some negative things on the shots and on the rings. I had an IUD in for 6 years in between my oldest children, but wanted to avoid that route again. Any suggestions? I just want to be prepared, and avoid another pregnancy so soon.
Avatar f tn re bf-ing you should choose a progesterone only or non hormonal birth control. Iud and depo are options for this as are condoms. There are progesterone only pills but they're not as effective.
Avatar f tn Is it true that birth control puts you at risk for cancer and can you be having a miscarriage not knowing thinking its a period?
7385294 tn?1412105739 Can u take birth control when breastfeeding? Like the pill needle patch.. can u do all of it still? Im not sure what i wanna take yet..
Avatar f tn Answers please experienced moms...WHICH BIRTH CONTROL WOULD YOU ALL CONSIDER THE MOST BEST AFTER YOU DELIVER YOU BABY AND MOST ACCURATE??? This my first baby and this will be my first time using birth control unsure of which one to use... PLEASE HELP THANKS LADIES!!!!
Avatar f tn I have some info on my profile about breastfeeding as a form of birth control. It's in my 'journals'. My midwife told me that estrogen free birth control is the safest while nursing. Estrogen can dry up your milk and if it doesn't, might cause issues with baby. Estrogen free versions include the paragaurd iud, the depo shot, and the 'mini pill' (progesterone only daily pill). I'd definitely decide what you want to do before baby comes!
Avatar n tn Healthy ovaries are supposed to make the hormones estrogen (the at least 3 types of estrogen) and progesterone. If while off birth control your body doesn't make sufficient estrogen, all the tissues with estrogen receptors will have been affected, as well as your brain (since estrogen is a precursor for at least three very important neurotransmitters, including dopamine [the neurotransmitter that makes you feel happy]).
Avatar m tn I'm not a doctor and I have no experience with medicine, but from what I have researched online about the hormones that control your menstrual cycle, and from my experience taking birth control, you could be having symptoms of estrogen dominance as withdrawal from taking birth control. It is easy enough from the North American diet for the body to produce more estrogen than it does progesterone. Both of these hormones need to be in your body for you to get your period.
6883059 tn?1395509077 What type of birth control do you ladies plan to take after giving birth & why ? . I'm just trying to decide which one to take.
280418 tn?1306325910 This is why females with migraines should not use any estrogen containing birth control methods. They should only be resorting to the progesterone containing methods like depot Provera injections that you had used. Even the pill Yaz that you are taking contains estrogen, hence you should stop this immediately, and resort to some progesterone only preparation for birth control. Best..
Avatar f tn You can't use estrogen based birth control or combination birth control. Progesterone only is fine.
Avatar f tn I'm going to do birth control the one that goes into the arm because I always forget to take the pill every day
Avatar n tn To avoid this problem I suggest taking estrogen only or combination birth control (estrogen and progesterone) i.e.
Avatar f tn if i decide to breastfeed can i still get birth control. ??
Avatar f tn Do fat cells secrete estrogen? Do I even need estrogen replacement? I used a bioidentical progesterone cream in the past. I was on Yaz birth control before the surgery. Without that I was practically psychotic.I am more miserable now than before surgery. I cry A LOT. My family is sick of me and I am sick of me. My doctor doesn't explain things. Will excercise/supplements etc be enough?Where can I turn for info?
Avatar f tn I've really never done birth control long term but I know i really need to find something that works for me. My fiance wants to have a baby soon after the little one we have coming in February so I have to pee proactive about family planning lol. I'm nervous that it'll make me gain weight. I'm thinking I'll try the pill since I'm leary of implants and things have to put inserted by a doctor. Has anyone had experiences with the pill and the side effects?
594914 tn?1245263684 If fertilization does not occur, estrogen and progesterone levels drop sharply, the lining of the uterus breaks down and menstruation occurs. If fertilization does occur, estrogen and progesterone work together to prevent additional ovulation during pregnancy. Birth control pills (oral contraceptives) take advantage of this effect by regulating hormone levels. They also result in the production of a very thin uterine lining, called the endometrium, which is unreceptive to a fertilized egg.
Avatar n tn i really liked the nuva ring... it goes in every 3 weeks, take it out for 1 week, then put a new one in. the ring is actually quite comfortable, i forgot it was in there a couple times!! i have pcos also, and that was the best one i have found so far. and i also didnt gain any weight with it. i would do some research on it, but that was the best one that i was on!!
Avatar f tn I went to follow up my Dr and she wanted to put me on birth control to regulate my periods.. The cost was too high and also promoted weight gain... So we went with metformin. I still take that but my menstrual is still abnormal. Here I am now at yr two, got my papsmear. Again normal but sent for another ultrasound and just said 2.2cm endometrium lining, with a nabathrian cyst 1mm. So did wants to do a biopsy and go from there. My body produces only estrogen not progesterone.
Avatar f tn I had estrogen deficiency and estrogen dominance! lol Double whammy! I decided to go on birth control pill to cycle myself out for a couple of years....I was to the point I was missing periods. The pms was aweful too! But also for the fact I have all the thyroid issues, I am sure it made things worse. If I was all the way through menopause I would take bio-identical hormones, but right now I don't want to chance a mid life baby so I am taking bcp's.
Avatar f tn A score of Estrogen Receptor positive (ER+) means that estrogen is causing your tumor to grow, and that the cancer should respond well to hormone suppression treatments. If the score is Estrogen Receptor negative (ER-), then your tumor is not driven by estrogen, and your results will need to be evaluated along with other tests, such as your HER2 status, to determine the most effective treatment. Positive vs.
10515800 tn?1419227034 Estrogen based birth control is what dries most women up. There are several estrogen free options including the "mini pill" (progesterone only rather than combination), depo provera shot, and one or two iuds.
1209036 tn?1299178657 To answer your question, YES it is perfectly safe to go on birth control pills while breastfeeding, HOWEVER, you can not take pills that contain estrogen. There are pills call "mini-pills" or "pops" (progesterone only pills) such as camilla and micronor that are considered safe during breastfeeding. Ask your doctor about it. Some docs will give you a script straight out of the hospital, others will make you wait until you have your 6 week post partum check up.
2121656 tn?1395674749 I interpreted as it's all related to all hormones in one's body. I must've misunderstood, sorry about that.
Avatar f tn I have heard about the patch and the IUD and wanted to know all about them or any other really effective birth control. I don't want anything that will increase my acne, weight, or flow. I have bad acne and flow as it is.
