Avatar n tn Thanks for the info but I need pure Progesterone, no estrogen as its the main problem in trying to fix. I guess I need to go abroad to get the meds i need and yes no cream sadly.
216278 tn?1308861082 Hi! I am 2dpo and I started an Estradiol patch today to wear for the next week and a half. Of course, I am starting to second guess everything (typical start of my tww) Does anyone know if this could raise my estrogen TOO much, thus hurting my chances for pregnancy? I have posted a picture of the graph of my hormone levels when they did the full panel and I put the numbers in a journal to correspond with it!
Avatar f tn I remember that prior to starting treatment in Sept 09, I read somewhere that being post menopause would be a negative strike against me but I still opted to NOT take estrogen. I have been in surgical menopause since 1996, I took estrogen for 10 years and then quit because of the increased chance of breast cancer after taking estrogen so many years. I finished treatment (without taking estrogen since 2006) and I achieved SVR.
Avatar f tn How is your estrogen and your DHEA-S? When your doc tests your testosterone, does he test bio-available testosterone, and does the doc test sex binding hormones, LH, FSH, to get the entire pic of your androgens and how your body is using the testosterone? Estrogen and testosterone and very very closely related - so it could be that your testosterone is simply converting over to estrogen instead of staying as testosterone. This cannot be controlled really - it just happens.
Avatar f tn Estrogen causes some of the glands in the breast tissue to swell .Birth control patch causes consistent release of estrogen which causes elevated estrogen levels throughout the body making the breasts become larger. If you are too concerned it will be best to discuss it with your gynecologist. I hope it helps. Best luck and regards!
778044 tn?1299542934 I have a question for anyone using the Ortho Evra Patch to help control their endometriosis. It says right on the box that you are exposed to 60% more estrogen using the patch then other birth control pills. Since estrogen "feeds" endometriosis, how does this make sense? I have been advised by my doctor after 6 months of Lupron injections, to use the patch consistantly (not having a patch off week and not getting a period) until we are ready to get pregnant.
Avatar f tn The patch was horrible for me, I believe because of the fluctuations / drop in estrogen on patch change days which was 2x per week. I now use generic Estrace tablets and feel much more even keeled on them.
Avatar f tn Can the phytoestrogens be taken with the estrogen patch? Thank you so much for your help!
Avatar f tn Do you think it is safe to continue using the estrogen patch? Thank you so much for taking the time to answer my question. Your service is greatly appreciated.
Avatar f tn I was told the IUD is too dangerous for me with my medical history so that is out, i plan to exclusively breastfeed so any pill with estrogen is out as well. Only leaves the mini pill, however, if you are over a certain weight the pill is less effective (i am over that weight). The shot is also out because it almost killed me as a teenager. Which means i have no birth control options after i deliver. :( and getting my tubes tied is not an option as hubby wants a boy still.
Avatar f tn They are having me increase my Progesterone shots from 1cc to 1.5ccs and get an Estrogen patch. The nurse says that this doesn't mean that the procedure didn't take but I am worried. It sounds like a bad sign. My question is for other people who have had IVF. Has this happened to you? Did it mean you weren't pregnant? I am being paranoid or should I prepare myself for the worst? I have had IUI twice and this is my first IVF.
Avatar m tn I would like to take estrogen to help the menopause symptoms still driving me crazy one year after surgery and chemo for ovarian cancer stage 2c - I also had a prophylactic bilateral mastectomy as I have a history of breast cancer in my family - I have heard the HRT can increase the incidence of OC but I am wondering if an estrogen patch would be safe as I have had my ovaries, uterus, tubes, cervix, and breasts removed surgically.
Avatar n tn I am sorry your wife's gyn removed all her parts. Mine were also removed (needlessly since all that needed to be removed was an ovarian cyst). For me, the effects were severe in every way. I became suicidal and aged dramatically overnight (hair, skin, vision, muscle mass) and couldn't function... couldn't concentrate, think logically, remember anything, couldn't sleep, etc. Estrogen was a huge help for me.
Avatar f tn Mayfly, It is so hard to say if the patch of Vivelle caused the weight gain. This is such a complicated subject. I am wondering if your body was making Estrogen in the form of Estrone (which is the 'menopause' estrogen that is made as a by-product from the fat in our system... and this fat is what causes the fat around our middle section so that it is readily available for use by the body since women's bodies crave estrogen)...
676302 tn?1237863491 t read it in detail yet), but my understanding is that it makes a correlation between fibromyalgia and low estrogen levels. I can say that the FIRST time I used an estrogen patch, I felt WONDERFUL for that week. Unfortunately, the subsequent uses haven't produced such euphoria. I almost feel like my body builds up a tolerance to meds/treatments and then they don't work anymore....
1325193 tn?1450127436 Worse yet, my estrogen was only 15 on a range of 25 to 55. Yes, men need estrogen too. Both of these numbers combined is a recipe for anxiety. How did it get that low?? One of the main causes of men under 65 for low t is opiate abuse and use. Now it all finally made sense. Why i started having anxiety before I even quit them, why it's been almost 9 months and still have the same anxiety i did from day one.
Avatar n tn or rather used a estrogen patch..Estrogen is available in many foms ,,lotions. body mist,,vaginal pellets,,,I like the patch its small acurate and easy to use...Please use bio identical..Premarin the "old-fashioned " estrogen is actually made from horses urine..Bi-Identical is the closest possible at this time to what your own body would make...I recommend Vivelle..Of corse you must discuss with your doctor what she or he thinks is best or you,,and then YOU decide...
Avatar f tn )) I did take off the estrogen patch soon as I had chest pain to avoid getting into a serious situation, and I recovered soon after. Have called my RE too, now waiting for them to call back. was just wondering if other ladies here might have had similar experiences, so I can stop freaking out!!
Avatar f tn I have been on the estradiol patch for 5 weeks! I was on the .725 dose. I have gained about 8 pounds and I am freaking out! I have been extremely co scoops of my diet and etc. my doctor suggested we lower the dose to the .375 to see if it will help! How long will it be before I see the weight come off?
Avatar n tn My recovery went well, except that my stomach muscles were sore (I had an open bikini cut), but now my incision no longer hurts. My concern is that I have been placed on the estrogen patch since one week after the surgery. I started having headaches, pains under my arms, and my feet started swelling more than usual. The doctor asked me to cut the patch in half, still changing it twice a week.
Avatar f tn I have been in surgical menopause for six years now. I have been using the estrogen patch (Vivelle dot .1) since my surgery and have had no problems with hot flashes. However, for the past 8 months I having been getting hot flashes every now and then. Is this normal? When I mentioned it to my doctor, he just said I was already taking the highest dose the patch comes in and didn't like the idea of me using the oral kind.
Avatar m tn //www.healthline.com/health/low-testosterone/anti-estrogen-diet-men It's all that healthy stuff, not surprising. It's got red grapes on it though which I personally like.
