By December 2007 she was diagnosed with spots in her spine and ribs. By January 2008 she was diagnosed with spots on her brain. She is unable to breathe without oxygen and has been at home since February 2008 on 24 hour oxygen. She has a vile cough that is persistent. She coughs all day long - a raspy fruity cough. She is also in considerable pain behind one of her breasts which is larger than the other one. Apparently the cancer in her rib has caused a break or fracture in this rib.

t know the details, but it is past the operating stage. My parents live in Jordan and they have just returned from a trip to Israel to see a doctor. Now my father is going to get treatment of I think Chemo pills in Jordan.
I am very skeptical, and correct me if I am wrong, but (financial obstacles aside) would it not improve all chances considerably if my Father were to go to somewhere more advanced like Mayo Clinic or any of the top rated Clinics around the world to get treated there?
both lung plumonory nodul ans one large tumor ,after 6 cycle of chemo with TAXOL,CARBOPLATIN ,AND COMBINED with erlotinib .since then the diesies showed improvment and shrinkage in tumor. . HE has been under maintance treatment with Tarceva since 2009 upto now. the previous PET-CT ON JULY 2011 WAS NEGATIVE AND CONCLUSION was that no evidence of residual hypermetabolic disease seen in lung.. but the recent CT showed smal new lesion 1,8 *2 cm. in comparison to previous.

CA125 only responded marginally (from 180 to 130) and chemo had to be stopped after 3 cycl. due to extreme liver enzyme rise and haematological problems. Topotecan/docetaxel weekly reduced CA125 level within 6 weeks to 40, but it increased thereafter and treatment was stopped because of alveolitis and CA125 had reached 70 again. Next chemo was taxol weekly with avastin biweekly, which led to a fast drop of CA125 (after 3 weeks down to 20!).
Shortly after they began I noticed difficulty in taking deep breaths and a certain tightness in the chest. Is there any chance that this is asbestos related?
Ensure that you use a sunscreen which is gentle and nonirritating and does not interact with the other medications you are on.
Use soap over the lesions only once a day. At other times just splash water and pat dry. Skin will restore the normal oil levels by itself.
If not interacting with the other medications you are on, you can apply a mild steroid preparation over the rashes, only at night.
However, steroid use concurrent with antineoplastic medications is not advisable.

I had surgery (sugarbaker + total colectomy, r100 at 4 months after the last dose of Carbopl/Taxwe started Doxil which worked for 9 months. Then I had many chemos (I am on number 7 now) during the last year and my tumor seems to be resistant to platinum, taxol, topotecan, taxotere, gemzar and avastin.
cataract surgery and another vit. when lens capsule pulverized during extraction and fell into the back of my eye. A week after surgeries, have had another pressure spike to 33, got drops changed. Now I am 2 weeks post op and dr. says he doesn't need to see me for 3 weeks. He changed the drop sched to no more prednisone, continue pressure drop and inflammation drop at reduced rate.
Should I be seen sooner than 3 weeks by retina dr?
I did this for my sister after her second child was born. She thinks she had post partum depression after her first so eating the placenta was supposed to help with that as well as milk supply. She bought a kit and I did all the work for her. It was neat and gross and I don't know if she thinks it helped or not. We boiled it, then sliced it into strips and put them in a food dehydrator and the next day ground it up and put it into capsules.
I have given her follow up Pepcid AC at home and Cerenia tablet (pulverized in water and syringe) but she still will not eat. I syringe fed her 2 ml of baby food ham. I made her bacon and she won't touch it. I cannot get her to stop shivering (indication of pain). I don't know what to do. Going out now for Pedilyte and Ensure. Not sure if I should run her to the ER or wait it out until morning when the vet reopens. Any advice?
Did the xray (KUB) after the lithotripsy show it worked and the stone was pulverized? Did your doctor order a CAT scan to see if there is still a stone lodged somewhere?
That said, I had lithotripsy in July, severe pain for 2 weeks because of the stent placed in ureter (torture) and relief when it was removed and passed 5 visible small stones that same day. Howvever 5 months laterstill have what feels like muscle pain above hip, sometimes left flank and cannot sleep on my left side anymore.
t ask her for her help got there with my cousin they took pulverized so I could relax and at least have some fun.. But I did tell her at the end never again! Next time I will hire someone if I have to! Cause I ended up having to clean and take down the decorations by myself after! So I was not happy with mine to say the least!

I personally stay away from sugar. I might use a little unrefined and raw agave nectar now and then. Instead of baking cakes, I might have a baked sweet potato with a little virgin coconut oil on it. Dried figs, goji berries... etc. I put a piece of cinnamon in my tea. I weaned myself off sugar little by little, but that's years ago now. I did it gradually, not to notice it too much. Now I cannot even drink tea with sugar. So I don't really need sweet things anymore.
You get a pain relief injection, when the doctor asks how are you doing and I tell them, " no change". They always give me a strange look and follow it up with, " That is the best i can do".
In other words, my thyroid is being pulverized by my own immune system and will not even work in time. It is swollen and has developed nodules which can become cancerous (only a small percentage do, though). Since I am past child bearing age and have had a total hysterectomy is will be in my best interest to have my thyroid removed when the doctor removes the tumor in my parathyroid.
I, as most people do, get occasional constipation, happening pretty far in between. All I need in such instances is a natural laxitive, and then it's over. But the most recent time I became constipated, the laxitive had no effect. I could feel everything below the stomach filling up unbearably with fecal matter.

I should also mention at this time I had to stop eating eggs, eggs had always done a number on my stomach but I just couldn't take it anymore.

I never could understand this way of thinking. I was VERY sick, and the patient, and the nurse practitioner was more concerned about their finances than my health and happiness. My daughter believes I developed nerve damage because I was kept on the medication for too long. I understand liver disease can cause an itch to the body, but will it EVER end? Does it stop after having a liver transplant? What is it like to live after a liver transplant?
m thinking maybe a clump of pulverized stone (sand) could have caused this pain and since now that pain has somewhat subsided and shited to a lower grounn more tolerable pain that the clump has shifter further down the ureter and has given me a bit of relief from the pain just enough to be able to stick it out until me next dosage at 7:00 am :) if you still check these postings I would love to hear some thoughts!
It could be that some kind of hard vegetable matter such as a piece of broccoli, celery or onion is getting lodged in the valve between your stomach and small intestine. Gastroparesis makes it hard for your stomach to empty into the gut so anything that isn't pulverized can create a blockage. The food above that then sets in the stomach for too long, begins to compost and produces the foul smelling gas.
