Avatar f tn I have POTS and am supposed to go to the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota this winter. I'm curious who has been to Mayo before and how their experiences went. Did you use the POTS clinic part of it or something else? I am also curious because I am mainly going to see if any doctor can figure out the underlying cause of my POTS (my current doctors are not interested in testing for any possible causes of it). Should I go to the POTS clinic part of it or should I just see a general doctor there?

612876 tn?1355514495 The Mayo clinic sees children with Dysautonomia. Be patient because it takes 4-6 months to get in. I have a 13 year old daughter with these symptoms. There is a doctor at the Valla New york medical school who treats teens with POTS and hiis name is Dr. Julian Stewartt. He answered my e-mail in one day(WOW) and referred me to Dr. Phil Fischer at the Mayo clinic. http://www.nymc.edu/fhp/centers/syncope/J_Stewart.htm Here is Dr. Stewarts information.
Avatar f tn Vanderbilt has a full autonomic testing clinic and Mayo Jacksonville has a partial autonomic testing clinic. There are tests at Vanderbilt that Mayo J. doesn't have (in fact some of the ones they're planning on doing on you), and likely you DO need to have those tests if you have generalized dysautonomia rather than "just" POTS.
612551 tn?1450022175 You need to get Testosterone Injections from your Doctor, Low T Clinic/Men's Clinic, or Endocrinologist. Me and other people I know have tried it and it will make you feel like your an 18yr old again. Trust me! Easy fix.
Avatar f tn You can go online and register or call to set up appointments at Cleveland Clinic and the MAYO Clinic. MAYO has three clinics in the U.S. You do not need a referral to get in to either of these clinics. I have also heard of people the drive there and tell them their symptoms and sometimes they get in right away. So, you might want to consider checking them out online and trying to set up an appointment. I hope this will help you, as I know how frustrating this can be and disabilitating.
Avatar f tn Drs here say it will get worse and can only treat the symptoms. I want to go to the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota, which is cash. Would you recommend doing so.? All her Drs, dont talk together and feel she is on too many meds. People say UCLA has testing...saw one nero dr there no testing was ordered only assessment.

1264955 tn?1381782221 Has anybody here been to the neurology clinic at the Mayo or in their inpatient pain treatment program?
Avatar m tn Some here on the board are not real pleased with the Mayo clinic. It seems they have their own set of standards to give out a dx of MS. I personally know nothing about them and wish you the best....hoping for that answer.
Avatar n tn I am not a health professional but have NEVER heard of masturbation causing erectile dysfunction. But if you are suffering guilt from your masturbation, then that could easily cause ED. But there are a slew of things that could also cause ED - but I really don't think masturbation is one of them. To silent23lamb - your issue could also be some sort of mental think - feelings of inadequacey or fear of not getting a hard erection. (The very fear itself can CAUSE what you fear.
582396 tn?1259863489 I am over the moon excited that DH got a 5-10 day appointment at Mayo Clinic - Dec. 10. Anyone have any experiences on what to expect etc?
627388 tn?1222198212 Has anyone from the MS forum ever seek treatment for their MS at the Mayo Clinic? If so, how was your as your experience with physicians from the clinic? I am considering driving up to Mayo at some point if my neurologist in town can't definatively diagnosis me.
Avatar m tn you need google erectile dysfunction to get a full description (over 20 different ways to cause erectile dysfunction) If you suspect to have it, you need to visit a doctor so they can determine if it is physical or psychological problem. It's usually psychological or it could be the combination of physical or psychological. Usually men over 40 that experience erectile dysfunction relates to a physical problem or some underlying medical condition, ie. diabetis, high blood pressure, etc.
Avatar f tn check out the national dysautonomia research foundation's site as well as Dysautonomia information network and the Dysautonomia forum here; in each place there are doctor's listed and information for reading, plus you'll find POTS to be a very common ANS problem so you'll get lots of support and information.
Avatar f tn Woke up one day a few months ago with dizziness, serious balance and walking issues, tinnitus, severe neck pain on both sides, peripheral neuropathy type symptoms, extremely distorted vision where everything seemed smokey and surreal, worst headache of my life on my left back side of my skull, muscle twitching everywhere and I mean everywhere, left calf and ankle numbness, erectile dysfunction, urination issues ( felt weird and sort of numb) and everything seemed so damned hard to do like taking
Avatar f tn I see old posts about Mayo Arizona, Dr Goodman, and am wondering if they now have a full autonomic clinic? What is the best way for a referral? Per MD or online? Thanks for any info....
Avatar m tn Could you have pelvic floor dysfunction? If you do there is a treatment at the mayo clinic for this condition.
Avatar f tn Did either of you have nausea associated with your abdominal pain and did you experience heightened nausea or pain around the time of your period? I had my gallbladder removed in May 2010 and have had this severe pain in my upper abdomen, persistent nausea, and dizziness. Once a month near the time of my period, these symptoms get elevated to the point I am sick in bed for days. Am working with a specialist who suspects it has something to do with SOD, so prescribed muscle relaxants to start.
967168 tn?1477584489 Check out the Mayo Clinic here: http://www.mayoclinic.org/multiple-system-atrophy/ You may have to copy and paste into your address bar. Make sure you go through all the tabs (i.e. Overview, Diagnoses, etc.) at the top of the page. I have been told by the so-called experts at Vanderbilt Autonomic Dysfunction Clinic that they cannot rule out the initial stages of Parkinsons or the initial states of multiple systems atrophy (MSA).
