During the present pregnancy, my doctor has recommended aspirin and Low Molecular Weight Heparin (like Clexane) for the entire pregnancy period. I am regularly taking these both medicines. Regularly undergoing Ultrasound regular scan and Doppler scan. Till now the growth of fetus is good and is better than the last pregnancy. But my platelet count is coming down, now its around 160,000. I have heard, usually during pregnancy platelet count comes down.

Okay so I am 37+4 and I have been on Heparin for a little over a week now and was on lovenox since I found out I was pregnant due to a DVT I had back in June of 2012 after gallbladder surgery. My question is can I request to be induced? Its been stressful and I'm worried about going into labor naturally and not being able to have an epidural or having complications due to having to be on this medication. Does anyone think I would be able to be induced because of this risk factor?

What are the risks to the baby after the heparin is stopped and should she be induced after stopping the heparin?

Yes I'm on the generic enoxaparin. I was on it with my first and forth (all 4 pregnancies were miscarriages). Now I'm on it again since 3 1/2 weeks pregnant.

Is anyone taking blood thinner during pregnancy? I have to start with heparin 5000 units tonight. Just wanted to know if it's safe and won't affect the little one?

What color is yalls heparin label? I used heparin last year with the pregnancy with my daughter, and the label was white with brown on it.. I just picked some more heparin up today (after a shocking BFP last week!) and it looks different - mostly brown label.. it says its the same dosing, but it still freaks me out a little after all the drama with it over the past few years.. Any help is GREATLY appreciated!! hope all is well with everyone!

Why are you on the heparin if I may ask? If it is due to blood clots they probably won't take you off. That's why I have to go on them. I dont know what it will do if you already have very small babies. I haven't had a child yet. I've had 4 miscarriages b/c of MTHFR. I would ask just to know if the weight would be smaller.

I just got back from my high-risk OB appt and they have switched me to Heparin (Low-Molecular Weight, I believe) because it IS reversible should I go into labor unexpectadly, whereas Lovenox is not. I can't remember the reversal med, but it exists so that should I require an emergency c-section, they would give me this shot and send me on my way. The gal that asked me the question wanted to know about risks of c-section while being anti-coagulated.

Is it normal to give heparin to a patient who has had TIA's and high blood pressure?

I had a CT scan to check my diaphragm as I've been having difficulty taking deep breaths. It was a contrast CT and they used my port access to give me the contrast. After they were finished, they didn't flush the port, but just administered the heparin. After my IVIg treatments, they saline flush my port with two syringes before they do the heparin. I'm nervous about asking nurses to do something, as have had bad experiences with nurses needing to be right.

Hello I just was instructed by our RE that we will be trying on our own for 3 months after our second failed IVF and my fourth laparascopic surgery to remove endo He says that I have an implantation problem and has me on progesterone pills and heparin shots five days past ovulation My question is is there any herbs or foods or vitamins I could eat or take to help with implantation

My high risk doc says it could be the low molecule Heparin shots (Clexane, which is similar to Lovenox, to be exact). No one seems too concerned, but I was wondering if anyone else has had this and if it dissipated, grew, and what if anything was done about it. This week I am going to my hematologist to see if I need to adjust my dose of Clexane.
