I'm in the same vote. On enbrel and have developed hpv. Very tiny bumps if even noticeable at all, but its been spreading. Aldara only made my psoriasis and psa flare up. I guess the next thing is to stop enbrel till my hpv clears up? I am 29, male, non smoker. Enbrel is the only med I take.
m convinced that there is a correlation between these things and the Enbrel. Have any other Enbrel users been diagnosed with any of these inflammatory diseases? My gut feeling is that the Enbrel truly is the cause, but it has worked so well on my joints, I'm hesitant to try anything else. My Rheumatologist is going to argue with me about my hypothesis, but I know my body. Can anyone give some insight?
All the reading i do about it suggests that the cure is worse then the disease and it seems that the risk of getting cancer, lupus or the like is extreamly high (higher then the other injectables). I am no stranger to biologics, my doctor had me on Raptiva (before they pulled it) and i loved it. Completly cleared me with no side effects and even kept me clear for 2 years after i stopped using it. But Enbrel scares me.
Hi. Just saw my GYN for my annual exam and pap, and we discussed many things, including my family history. My father had colon cancer before age 50. He's 73, alive and kicking and gets scoped every 18 months or so. He's had polyps here and there but I've never seen him have to go through anything major since the first cancer incidence, thank god! No FAP etc.

But, I have just now recovered from the treatment of aggressive (Her2+) breast cancer. Interestingly the cancer occurred in the breast that had IGM, and also my cancer biopsy revealed GM cells within the cancer tumour. I have been undergoing surgery, chemo and radiation and it was pretty hellish. However, I am starting to regain my strength now.
I've been on Enbrel for almost 9 years. I've recently been developing tremors in my hands, cheeks (when I smile), and tongue. Talked to my rheumy. He doesn't think it's the Enbrel, but I am growing more concerned. They're not bad, but they do seem to be progressing.
WEll I finally went to a colon and rectal dr and he did some lighted scope just looking at rectal area, and he said he saw nothing bad at all, but wants me to have a colonoscopy to figure out why I have red in bowel movements. Sometimes its streaked red and other times its maroonish looking and other times theres like maroonish clots in it. Sometimes well only like once there was a small purplish maroonish) clot on toilet paper, so I am really scared about colon cancer at my age.
For example if it started in his colon and spread someplace else, this is still considered colon cancer. There are chemo drugs specifically for colon cancer and he should go with those. Everyone is different when it comes to side effects and we don't know until we try it. I hope your dad beats this!!
sent him for a catscan which we told he had colon blockage and now liver cancer. We are told the liver cancer is in-operatable. They sent him home and told him to us mild laxatives to clear up his blocked colon. He is miserable, has severe cramps, and lots of pain. He is eating ok and going to the bathroom very little. He is going for a second opinion on the liver cancer but I am concerned about his colon, any ideas?
Colon cancer can be extremely hereditary! My mother-in-law has 4th stage colon cancer and it was recommended to my husband and his sister to have a colonoscopy at 40 years old. He did and they found 1 small (3mm) sized tumor that was found to be pre-cancerous. His sister's result was clear. So, that's 50% chance right there. I agree with quinroxanne, be very vigilant! There are studies to show that there is a slight chance of increased risk of colon cancer after gall bladder removal. However, the risk of colon cancer can be prevented by avoiding processed red meat, limiting red meat to no more than 12-18 ounces per week, eating plenty of fiber-rich foods, including fresh fruits and vegetables, exercising regularly and maintaining a healthy weight.

I will say that you 100% should have the colonoscopy, especially if you have immediate family with colon cancer. If the colon cancer is distant, like great uncles, 2nd cousins,etc, your chances of having it are less likely. Keep us updated, but remember there are tons of other issues it could be.
As for the raised alt, I had the same. Mildly elevated AST and ALT, and come to find out it was because I lifted heavy weights 5 days a week.
