enbrel and breast cancer

But, I have just now recovered from the treatment of aggressive (Her2+) breast cancer. Interestingly the cancer occurred in the breast that had IGM, and also my cancer biopsy revealed GM cells within the cancer tumour. I have been undergoing surgery, chemo and radiation and it was pretty hellish. However, I am starting to regain my strength now.

I'm in the same vote. On enbrel and have developed hpv. Very tiny bumps if even noticeable at all, but its been spreading. Aldara only made my psoriasis and psa flare up. I guess the next thing is to stop enbrel till my hpv clears up? I am 29, male, non smoker. Enbrel is the only med I take.

just to see if I can feel anything. A year ago, wife was diagnosed with breast cancer, with no insurance. About a month after that I tried to have a heart attack but failed. :) ER treated me for heart then asked me if I had any stressed. I laughed and explained. They laughed and said they thought it was a stress related thing. Kept me for 14 hrs and gave me a spotless bill of health with no signs af any heart issues.

All the reading i do about it suggests that the cure is worse then the disease and it seems that the risk of getting cancer, lupus or the like is extreamly high (higher then the other injectables). I am no stranger to biologics, my doctor had me on Raptiva (before they pulled it) and i loved it. Completly cleared me with no side effects and even kept me clear for 2 years after i stopped using it. But Enbrel scares me.

Doctor, I would like information related to Enbrel and MS. I used Enbrel for less than one year. I now have demylination of the cervical spinal cord, both optic nerves, plaques in my brain, numbness in leg and balance problems. I am now fifty eight. Symtoms started at age fifty six with numbness in leg and balance problems. I have been told it looks "MSish." Questions: now that the new symptom of, the optic nerves being demlinated, is it MS?

My platelets were 93 but I always run a low platelet count since I have medicine inducted neutropenia being that I am on meds for rheumatoid arthritis....enbrel and prednisone (5 mg). My platelets have run in the 100-120 range for about three years. All other lab values were very good.....and he saw no problem anywhere else. I am a 60 yr old female....with r/a since 1983. Post menopause. Could you give me an idea of what could have caused this?

one year of Enbrel injections. Although the Enbrel may have lessened the pain and progression. other side effects and basically an unwell feeling. dizziness. sinusitis. Pain in eyes. If this is as good as it gets. there must be something better. anyone else been here and found something better?

m convinced that there is a correlation between these things and the Enbrel. Have any other Enbrel users been diagnosed with any of these inflammatory diseases? My gut feeling is that the Enbrel truly is the cause, but it has worked so well on my joints, I'm hesitant to try anything else. My Rheumatologist is going to argue with me about my hypothesis, but I know my body. Can anyone give some insight?

ll be getting married this October and am curious to know if any woman out there have gotten pregnant and given birth while on Enbrel.

I've been on Enbrel for almost 9 years. I've recently been developing tremors in my hands, cheeks (when I smile), and tongue. Talked to my rheumy. He doesn't think it's the Enbrel, but I am growing more concerned. They're not bad, but they do seem to be progressing.

She is not having vomiting or diarrhea, could chemo effect lithium absorbtion. Cancer has spread outside colon wall and to liver, breast and lymph node. On the positive side her cea level is down from 34 to 10.7. But is the chemo causing the mild mania?

m thinking (and feeling) that one shot would be okay. In fact, I would rather give myself an Enbrel shot than take prednisone (which is normally what they give pregnant women with RA if they need medication. But I LOATHE prednisone and it's side effects. However - they say it's "safe.") Enbrel has always been good to me and I think it would be okay to take right now.

So just an update about this. Just when we finally got cleared for me to take the Enbrel while pregnant, we find out it's not going to be into the pharmacy until Friday AND it's going to cost $900!!! BUT it turns out it will actually probably be safer for me TO take the Enbrel. I have to control my arthritis because if I don't control it, (according to the lady at the pregnancy risk hotline we talked to today) Rheumatoid ARthritis puts me at risk for still birth and preterm labor.

Thanks smittygirl. I was on the fence with this decision but leaning in the same direction as your perspective. Sunday, today, is my injection day. I've had the p.i. for a week, and it seems to be clearing up despite the Enbrel. So like you, I agree; I'd rather itch a little, then have the chest-wall pain (my main symtom). BTW... good luck with AS. Prior to joining this forum, I read some of the past posts, and yours came forward as a real success story.

I have had two shots of Humira, I constantly have sinus issues, pain pressure, teeth hurt and hedaches. I got them on enbrel and after 9 years it quit working, so tired remicade but after 4 infusions I had such a bad insus probelm I quit it also raised my blood pressrue a lot. I don't seem to be able to handle hard core antibidoics so I can take zpack, and it helps, but I always seem to be back on it alteast every two months.

I was in between jobs and had no insurance and had to stop the Enbrel for 3 weeks, within 2 weeks the pain and stiffness was back worse than ever. The price of Enbrel is $1500.00 monthly so it doesn't surprise me that the insurance company won't give you the 2 a week you need. Talk to your doc about the other 2 drugs and see if they will better help control your pain and stiffness. Keep me posted!

My husband has ankylosingspondilitis and takes enbrel injections and has considered taking methotrexate before. Best of luck. Could be a real blessing from God :) and a healthy baby!

I have rheumatoid arthritis have been on methothrexate since December and am supposed to start enbrel next week. I got very sick the first of March with pneumonia and pleurisy. I took levaquin for 10 days and I still have the pain so the doctor ordered a ct scan. I have a strong family history of lung cancer in non smokers, I have been a smoker for over thirty years. This is my second bought of pneumonia in a year and a half. Please help me with the ct scan results.

THIS YEAR I'VE SEEM NUMEROUS DOCTORS ENT, GENERAL ALERGIST AND EVEN HAD SINUS SURGERY FOR 30 GRAND, NOTHING FIXED THE THROAT PROBLEMS.

My problem is that when I get off Enbrel, every joint in my body swells, turns red, hurts unbearably and locks up. I become completely bedridden and cannot get dressed or go to the bathroom without help. My blood tests show that, even with the Enbrel, my c reactives and other immune response numbers are very high. They tell me that they will give me prednisone to help with the reaction.

I've been on enbrel for about 5yrs for RA and also developed respitory problems. I coughed for 6 months and had every test possible. No diagnosis proved true. I even had surgery to remove swollen lymphnodes in my chest, which were deemed hyperplastic. Whats left from the illness is a once-a-day wheeze attack. I stopped taking enbrel for the past month and feel like sh*t. Heading back to the DR. soon.

I was only 42 at the time and the thought of that was mindboggleing! Enbrel was introduced in 1998 and by the time my insurance agreed to pay for it it was Spring 1999 when I took my first injection. I started Enbrel along with an injectible dose of.09 Mtx weekly. For me Enbrel was a light-switch medication and within 2 weeks I was a normal functioning adult again with no pain at all.

t praise the drug enough fantastic results - i have the chance to visit family in Australia for 4 months when i retire in 18 months time the only obstacle is my medication and how would it work with my getting enbrel injections and it is a long flight - is there a solution around this problem
