Avatar f tn Hi, so were you using it for painful spasms or urinary urgency and incontinence. I hope you don't mind me asking. It is very very expensive here, because it's not approved on our drug lists it cost me $65 for a packet but I would pay $1000 for something to help me at the moment (if I had the money)... I just want to fix the burning feeling I have and the spasms.. oh and the incontinence would be a bonus too but that is not my major issue, well not this week anyway.
Avatar n tn My doctor said that this may be causing some of the incontinence. Anyways...She did a urinalysis and some blood work to check me for lupus and diabetes and all came back normal except the urinalysis. It showed microscopic blood. She put me on antibiotics and gave me enablex and detrol (neither which have worked). I went back in for a recheck and the repeat urinalysis was exactly the same as before.
Avatar f tn can someone please tell that which medicine works best for OAB ........VESICARE,ENABLEX OR DETROL LA..........I m male and 29 yrs old ,can i also take detrol la.....Any response should be highly appreciated..........
Avatar f tn On celexa, tried oxybutinin and myrbetriq. Gave me anxiety. Is enablex a good choice? Side effect of celexa was frequent urination. Eneblex only one that didn't cause anxiety, but side effects are bad. Anybody?
Avatar f tn I'm not sure how to describe what I'm feeling or even if it's real or imagined from nervousness. My left side only...leg from about knee down, not feet and my left lower arm/hand feels "weird"...mostly at night when I get in bed and lay to watch t.v. I think my left hand feels weird when I'm typing, not fingers. I have no "pain" , numbness, tingling...just a weird, mild feeling. Sometimes a small shakiness.
Avatar n tn My PCP told me Tuesday that he doesn't want to give me anymore steroids because of what is going on with my stomach. He said he may be willing to place me on only 5 mg. a day, so I called him yesterday. He told me "no". If I get to where I have problems walking, I'm sure he won't leave me hanging. The thing is, I've been to six spinal doctors since 11/2008 and they all refer me to someone else.
739070 tn?1338603402 HI All, I received this update on one of the medical sites I use and thought there might be some interest. Botox has been used off-label for urinary incontinence but it is FDA approved which may help those whose insurance won't pay for off-label use of drugs. The article is shown below: FDA NEWS RELEASE For Immediate Release: August 25, 2011 Media Inquiries: Jeffrey Ventura, 301-796-2807, jeffrey.
5509293 tn?1428531475 There are other causes of incontinence, such as nerve damage and for this your neurologist may getting brain MRI’s done. Treatment depends on the type of problem you have and what best fits your lifestyle. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps.
147426 tn?1317265632 I saw the Uro-Gynecologist and she offered the two streams of treatment, drugs for the overactive bladder or Incontinence Physical Therapy. At first I declined both. I didn't want any more drugs and just wasn't in the mood to get intimate with a therapist to self train. This worked for two years. But, last spring, '09, the problem was increasing. My options were the same. I opted for Physical Therapy which was a revelation. It was helpful and empowering.
Avatar m tn this when I had my post op Appt I never truely got an answer then I went back to her she gave me some Enablex that never truely help with the no sensation to urinate nor the having feeling when having sex can some one tell me what is going on?
Avatar f tn s leaking/dripping and gushing urine. He was taking a medicine for two weeks previously for gerd called esomeprezole (nexium) which was causing him to be incredibly thirsty drinking huge amounts. We stopped themedicine and the thirst is better but incontinence remains. We've had multiple tests, urine, blood, diabetes, MRI, ultrasound all normal. The drs are baffled! I'm at this moment in hospital awaiting a urilogy Dr on monday .
Avatar n tn My daughter was diagnosed with Chiari Malformation (due to balance issues) in November of 2007 by a radiologist and confirmed by a pediatric neurologist. In January we saw a neurosurgeon who disputed the diagnosis (we weren't wanting surgery for that anyway - just a diagnosis). Then we had an MRI of the lower spine done due to issues with incontinence, leg pain and weakness.
Avatar n tn Thanks for your response. What would you consider my options for this problem? How could I find out for sure what is causing this. Night before last, I woke up and I had started urinating and was able to stop and make it to the bathroom. This is one of the worst things that has ever happened to me. I don't want to end up wearing diapers. Again, thanks for your help!
Avatar f tn The incontinence started right after I had low back surgery for high-grade spondylolisthesis. The urologist thought it was from the nerves in my low back and is sending me back to my neurosurgeon. But I don't see how having surgery a year ago and then having incontinence 6 months after surgery can happen. I was not sure if it's possible that this is a separate issue then my back or not.
215220 tn?1191456864 So good to see you. You were such a part of us in the beginning, back in 2007. I remember you well. Are you saying that you haven't been diagnosed yet?!! What with the optic neuritis x at least 2, the TN, the L'Hermitte's, patchy numbness and paresthesias, weakness, heat intolerance, lesions on MRI, --I could go on, but I wanted to replay one paragraph I wrote to you in September, '07: "Now.....I am trying to contain my anger and outrage here....
4943237 tn?1428991095 There are some good medications that may help in this area. They will likely also send you for urodynamic testing and a cystoscopy because incontinence can be associated with retention, which can cause an increase in bladder infections, plus there a few other non-neurological things to rule out. The stress incontinence is the initial leak. The bladder emptying (which I've also experienced but thankfully not for a while) will require a medical professional to evaluate.
Avatar f tn I have a question regarding urinary and fecal incontinence as a consequence of MS. I was wondering if any of you had experienced this, if it is treated and how? Thank you very much.
1259599 tn?1294985827 OMG!! IM NOT THE ONLY ONE!! YAYY!! lol... i was just going to post this last week and then had to log off and forgot to do it... I work at a daycare center and i get very few bathroom breaks... Avatar n tn A year ago I started having some night time incontinence along with panic attacks. My doctor said I have benign prostrate enlargment and should see a urologist. The Urologist said I should have a cyscoscopy. This test showed that my bladder was not emptying when I pee. He saw evidence of long term tension in the detrusor muscle which he thought was caused by a constriction of the ureathra by the prostrate. He recommended that I try "flow max" to reduce the constriction.
Avatar f tn I am 3 weeks post-op for a partial hysterectomy and suddenly developed incontinence. I had bladder spasms within the first 7 days of surgery, but they went away. This just came on suddenly, and I don't see my doctor till Monday. This is horrible. I have never birthed children, only pushed to eliminate my colon in the past. Sometimes I have waited too long to go and have leaked prior to surgery, but it was from being too busy. The minute I stand I leak. I have to wear maxi pads.
9101689 tn?1401720149 Its pretty normal for pregnant women.
Avatar f tn My MS has progressed to the point of my needing items for Incontinence. Does anyone in our forum know anything about the following such as what is the best body spray for urinary odor control? What about a place to get undergarments for plus size individuals? Any help is much appreciated!!!!
Avatar n tn Hi! To answer your question--yes, yes, and yes! It's also very weird when you only have half of the area down there with feeling and half without. Yes, it can and does happen in MS according to my neuro. He had another patient with the same symptom (numbness). As far as the stress incontinence goes . . . I have had babies before (and one was almost 9 pounds), so in the past I contributed the incontinance to stress incontinence because that is what my GYN said it was.
Avatar f tn he has done urodynamics and also looked into my bladder through scope and said that nothing is wrong with my bladder and urthera,he first gave me vesicare for a month than enablex but condition still remains the same ,then i went to another general phyisican he sent me for x-ray of my lower back, results came out negative.my urlogist told me to go to neurolgist...
