Elidel fda warning

Common Questions and Answers about Elidel fda warning

elidel

Avatar n tn I used Elidel for 12 days for what was thought to be dermatitis on my penis head, although I noticed no improvement after this time and therefore discontinued its use. It didn't seem to have made the skin worse, atleast as far as I can tell! Also, in your opinion, was this too long to use it without seeing any benefit or should I not be so concerned?
Avatar m tn I was prescribed Elidel, however at first I was concerned with the black box warning and asked my doctor for a prescription skin barrier cream instead called EpiCeram to try first. Anyways, I have used the EpiCeram for a couple months along with a penis vitamin cream call Man 1 Man Oil and Emu Oil also. It seems as though my condition has improved somewhat, but not completely and I am wondering whether or not I should try the Elidel now since I want to get this resolved faster!
Avatar n tn In January 2006, the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) announced that Elidel packaging would be required to carry a black box warning regarding the potential increased risk of lymph node or skin malignancy.

Avatar m tn I have dermatitis on an area of my body where the skin is already naturally thin(genitals) and am not interested in using steroid creams, so my doctor prescribed elidel. After researching it and finding out that it has a black box warning, I also asked for a prescription for EpiCeram which I am currently using and have used for almost a month now.
Avatar m tn Also he said it appeared to be dermatitis as you stated and I was prescribed elidel since I was not interested in using steroid creams anymore. I have read that elidel is linked to cancer and has a fda black box warning, do you think elidel is appropriate/safe or not? Understand that I am not looking to make things any worse than they have already become from the prior treatment!
Avatar m tn it includes some of the following Cipro,Ciproxin,Ciprobay,Ciproproxine,Ciflox and Livaquin, Two other medications in this group have been taken off the market by the FDA some time ago for the nasty reactions they had. There are a lot of other antibiotics that don't have these nasty side affects and are safe to use, although when taking to many antibiotics your stystem could become immune to them and when you have an infection they don't do much good.
Avatar n tn I have tried numerous products over the counter and FDA approved medications with no luck. I am self-conscious and the reason I started with creams was due to having folks look directly at my forehead and not me. I have a pic of this situation at hand. If anyone can help with a product, etc that can fade my skin it would be must appreciative.
Avatar m tn Just wondering did the hcv drugs worked on hbv patients somehow so ppl started to use them to cause FDA to issue a warning?
Avatar n tn You might want to look into low-dose naltrexone. It is not FDA approved for autoimmune diseases yet, but it is only around $30 per month. There is a group for it on facebook.
Avatar m tn t find the warning. The conselor reiterated that though the test is FDA approved, that the FTC has issued a warning concerning home testing accuracy--home testing being the Home Access test. Basically what I'm trying to get at is... 1.
Avatar f tn I think they are saying these effects are in the realm of possibility because although it isn't clear exactly how Copaxone does what it does, it does alter part of immune system function. Remember, it's an immunomodulator. (Don't know if it makes you feel any better but there are plenty more drugs approved long before anybody understands the why or how of their success.
Avatar n tn I was diagnosed with atopic dermatitis by a dermatologist and precribed Elidel or (pimecrolimus cream). I was told that Elidel does not have the side effects associated with topical steroid creams such as skin thinning and discoloration. This was necessary since the area affected is right on the skin around the meatus of my penis. Anyways, I used the Elidel for almost 12 days (twice a day) without any significant results, so I stopped.
Avatar f tn After a month i broke out with atopic dermatitis again but this time it was red itchy bumps so she gave me elidel to use for 3 and a half months.. Whenever i stop elidel there are itchy pimple like rash on my cheeks with a little whithead that is tiny but oozes fluid! Is that a withdrawal from elidel?!!
690060 tn?1247841741 Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has new data showing that omeprazole (Prilosec/Prilosec OTC)—a medicine used to reduce stomach acid—reduces the anti-blood clotting effect of clopidogrel (Plavix) by almost half when these two medicines are taken by the same patient." "...Patients using clopidogrel should consult with their healthcare provider if they are currently taking or considering taking omeprazole, including Prilosec OTC" but then, there's also this: http://www.
Avatar n tn Okay, I know what Elidel is and that it is a non-steroidal treatment to dermatitis. However, I want to know if it thins the skin at all, to any extent? I read on the internet from multiple websites, that TCI's do not cause skin thinning or the side effects associated with steroid ointments, which is why it's usually used. However, one website stated that Elidel does not thin the skin "as much as" steroid creams do! So which is it for sure?
Avatar n tn I have read that Elidel can possibly help to reverse skin atrophy, and definitely does not cause any itself. Is this true, & how so? If not, then what effect would Elidel have on thin skin that has suffered atrophy from the use of strong topical steroid creams?

Avatar m tn thank you both I do remember getting the UVB narrowband before while I was taking the Elidel, for some reason I had stopped taking the Elidel and now I'm taking it again but I haven't had the UVB lately, I will ask them to use both of them again b/c my skin cleared up a lil bit when they did both.
Avatar n tn I was recently diagnosed with dermatitis by a local dermatologist and he prescribed me a topical medication called "Elidel", since he didn't think steroid creams were appropriate for the area of body that I am treating which has thin skin. Anyways, I have been using the Elidel for about 10 days now, and have NOT seen any noticable difference in my skin condition.
