Avatar n tn I have been having migraines for the last 5 to 6 years and i want to know what i can do about them i get them more and more. I have a migraine atleast 7 times a month. I have no idea what to do about them and i hope that someone can answer my question?
Avatar m tn They only come in one eye at a time. My general practicioner says it may be migraine and prescribed me some eletriptan, but i haven tried it yet. I also had an MRI taken, but have not gotten the result yet. I am not sure but i think my vision may be worse in parts of my visual field. I had a bloodtest and it turned out OK. It seems like they are only in one eye at a time. I can have them at any time, and recently i have gotten them when i wake up, too.
Avatar n tn In addition, many medications used to treat migraine headache (Excedrin Migraine Pain Reliever/Pain Reliever Aid, oxygen, prednisone [Deltasone]) can also be used for cluster headache. You should consult a neurologist regarding these treatment options. Apart from this avoid stressful events, develop a regular sleep patterna d do daily exercises. 2069693 tn?1331365365 I used to have migraines all the time for years and they never really found anything that worked or was wrong with me. I kind of grew out of the aging them as frequently as I did. Simetimes for me it's very difficult to tell what type of headache I'm having and it will take a few days before I actually wind up taking the right med to get rid of it. Like the above post mentions a muscle relaxer is a great idea, it's worked for me in the past.
Avatar f tn Once a migraine attack has started it is very hard to end. You need strong drugs for that. Do you usually have migraine attacks that last this long? Maybe you should see a doctor?

Avatar n tn Hi, Given that she has been properly assessed and her underlying thyroid disorder and blood pressure are well controlled, then this may sound like a bout of migraine headaches. However, thyroid problems and even medications may sometimes present with headaches. It is best that she is being monitored closely. Migraines may be associated with weather change however this is not firmly established. Nausea and vomiting may also be associated with migraines.

Avatar n tn "Migraine sufferers may develop magnesium deficiency due to genetic inability to absorb magnesium, inherited renal magnesium wasting, excretion of excessive amounts of magnesium due to stress, low nutritional intake, and several other reasons. There is strong evidence that magnesium deficiency is much more prevalent in migraine sufferers than in healthy controls." "...

I went to my docs today as have had one for 4 days now. he wasn't sure what to prescribe me which would b safe during pregnancy so sent me home and said he would consult the pharmacist and call me back. well I waited for my phone to ring all day, eventually I called the surgery 15mins before it closes and spoke to the doc, he said he had been busy and hadn't had time to call pharmacist but would call me first thing tomorrow.
Avatar f tn Hope this is the right forum for migraines. I am a migraine sufferer, unfortunately I'm also allergic to NSAIDS. My only pain relief option is Tramadol however that is too strong for me. When I take it at night, and wake up next morning, once right out of bed the side effects of nausea and vomiting will hit me. I take it with stemetil thou. However sometimes I still feel the side effects. I'm under lots of stress, school and life related.
