appendicitis

Avatar n tn Round ligament pain or gas. I actually had them check for appendicitis for me in my first pregnancy as well because it hurt but as long as they say baby is looking healthy, it sounds pretty normal!
Avatar m tn I have pain in the right side of my abdomen, near my belly button, it feels like I need to vomit. However I don't. It also hurts when I deep breathe. I have swelling in the abdomen too and its tender to the touch. Any ideas what this could be?
Avatar n tn s, it might be worth checking out. Normally, the muscles in the wall of the stomach contract in a coordinated way to move food through the stomach into the small intestine. The autonomic nervous system controls this muscular action. Diabetes can damage the autonomic nerves. This is called diabetic autonomic neuropathy. As a result, the stomach loses it's coordinated muscular activity and doesn't empty the stomach properly.
Avatar f tn He described abdominal pain that sounded like it could be gas or early appendicitis. I told him to take Gas-Ex and lie down. When I got home, he still had the pain, even lying down. I pressed on his abdomen and he had more pain. Didn't really know what I was doing, but just gently pressed around and he moaned. The pain had moved from his umbilicus to more in the right lower quadrant.
Avatar n tn You have mentioned that you were diagnosed with appendicitis. Was an appendectomy done? In this case I would suggest that an abdominal ultrasound may be done to ascertain the cause of the pain. A baseline urinalyis and urine culture may also be helpful to determine if infections or urinary tract stones may be present. I do not think the fungal infection has been causing the pain. Unless the area is swollen and severely infected the tenderness may be noted when the skin is palpated.
Avatar n tn Could be a number things. Try drinking a bottle or two water, could be your fluids are low and it's causing cramps. It could be gas and/or constipation, in which case the only thing for relief is to work the gas out by moving or having a bm. It could be false or early labor. If you've seriously been in pain for 8 hours and it's so severe you can't move than its probably time to go to the ER and get checked out.
Avatar n tn For three or more months I have had intermittent sharp pain in my right groin, right where my femoral pulse can be felt. It occasionally wakes me up at night. Lately, I've begun having random, sharp pains in both my lower extremities. It's not muscular. I've had no injuries. Suggestions?
Avatar f tn Monitor your syptoms cause nausea, back pain, pain on right side and bloating r also symptoms of appendicitis. I had appendicitis while i was pregnant so didn't notice the symptoms of appendicitis cause i just thought it was pregnacy symptoms.if pain gets worse or you get fever go to doctor.
5670884 tn?1374749288 My sister had appendicitis when she was pregnant. If the pain doesn't go away after a while, look up the symptoms of appendicitis and see if that sounds possible, and if so go to the doc.
Avatar f tn Omgosh! A few years ago i had appendicitis and had to have surgery however i was very early in my pregnancy. I was so scared but my baby girl was born healthy and fine. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your baby tomorrow.
Avatar n tn It could also be a periumbilical hernia that has got trapped resulting in small bowel obstruction or mesenteric ischemia. Early appendicitis too behaves this way and so does peptic ulcer. It could also be cystitis, urinary tract infection, diverticulitis or inflammatory bowel disease. It is difficult to comment beyond this at this stage. A CT scan or an ultrasound can tell for sure what the swelling is. Maybe you can seek another opinion.
Avatar n tn With you having back pain and pain down your leg, you may have a herniated disc. I have sciatica and that's what caused mine. I would see a gastroenterologist to verify that the bright red blood you see is indeed from hemorrhoids....I feel it is, but it will give you some peace of mind to find out for sure. There are several things this could be, and it's good that your are ruling them out one by one. I wouldn't worry about cancer. Best wishes.
Avatar n tn I had a laparoscopy done last week to get rid of my appendicitis. It was early stage appendicitis. The next day after surgery I was feeling expected pain where the incisions were. I took Norco painkiller. After a couple of days I noticed high heart rate when lying down, couple of times it grew so uncomfortable that I had to walk around a bit to feel comfortable.
Avatar n tn Hi For about ten hours now, I've have a dull ache that comes and goes in my lower right abdomen. It's not currently severe, just a dull ache for about five seconds every two or so minutes, not continuous. Anybody else experience this? I read that it could be a symptom of IBS/IBD, which would make sense as I'm currently being tested for those conditions. I'm just terrified that it's early appendicitis as I've never experienced it before.
Avatar m tn m a 19 year male college student, and I have had this problem for several years. At random moments, usually pretty rarely, I will get a sudden, sharp pain in the lower right area of my abdomen. It will cause me to panic for the brief second that it lasts (i'll clutch it etc..), because it feels really severe. It always goes away though, and since it's been a problem I've had for a long time, I don't really think it's a big issue.
Avatar n tn It could be early appendicitis or your gallbladder. If the colonoscopy is normal it probably is not colitis or diverticulitis. I suggest you make an appt with your doctor ASAP.
Avatar m tn I know you will say I need checked out and I agree in my brain, but the other part of my brain wants to know if these long pain free periods over the course of 3 or so months without a perforation are typical of appendicitis issues? So, in summary, I am curious about the long course of this and the pain free periods. Thank you.
Avatar n tn When I had appendecitis I woke up in pain with a lot of abdominal pressure and was admitted for surgery that day. It felt like I was really constipated or something (sorry TMI), and was nauseous. It sounds like the pain you are having is more likely related to the pcos. I have had ovarian cysts in the past and it felt a lot like what you are describing. I'm not an expert, just my personal experience.
Avatar n tn As far as I know, the most apparent symptom of appendicitis (inflammation of the appendix) is a dull pain in the stomach on the right side, that moves to severe lower right abdominal pain. http://www.webmd.com/digestive-disorders/digestive-diseases-appendicitis The above website explains different symptoms that could accompany appendicitis.
Avatar f tn I'm not really sure if I'm in the right place her but I'm becoming concerned. Last night I started having a dull pain on the right side of my abdomen, across from my belly button, it went away today but came back around lunch time. It went away again and now at 2am it has come back. I pressed on my stomach a bit and it send a shooting pain through my belly button area. Its not SUPER painful, just more of a discomfort.
Avatar m tn Im 17 years old about to be 18 in 3 months and I got off my period 6 days ago. I took plan B on the last day of my period which was december 25th and starting on the 29th i had soreness in what seems like right above the ovaries, a pain on each side of my abdomen. I also have this pulsating around my belly button and it will shoot down to the right side then give me back pain. I also have headaches and have gotten easily hot and overheated during the night.
Avatar f tn i am a 22 yr old girl, unmarried, i was having continuous pain for 2 days in my lower abdominal. today morning at 5 i had swear pain i went to the doc, they asked me for blood test, urine test n ultrasound, urine test showed some sign of appendix but ultra sound didnt, they sent me home n gave some pain killers! now i am developing the same pain again after about 20 hours, so i want to ask can it be appendicitis even if ultrasound doesnt show it?
Avatar f tn Im 10 weeks pregnant and got my appendix removed yesterday (saturday) they told me about the risks with the anastesia and baby, but they also told me that if i left it in and it ruptured id lose baby for sure. Anyone else have their appendix removed and had a perfectly healthy baby?
Avatar n tn My sons girlfriend has been admitted to hospital in the early hours of this morning with abdominal pains and sickness, They are testing for both appendicitis and ovarian cysts She is only 18 and I thought it was over 40 that cysts occured. I am looking to reassure a very frightened girl.
1193880 tn?1264886865 MRIs are not adequate for appendicitis. The white count in appendicitis is generally high. You also get a fever, but appendicitis can start near the belly button then move to the right lower side. I think you should get her to a specialist and or get her to a doctor who will take her blood counts and possibly a CAT scan because it is dangerous if it bursts.
Avatar m tn Hi, the pain may not be related to colonoscopy. It could be appendicitis. The pain in appendicitis generally starts around the umbilicus and moves to the lower right quadrant of the abdomen. The other symptoms for Appendicitis are fever, nausea, vomiting and malaise. The other causes for pain could be urinary tract infection, pelvic infections, renal colic and sometimes bowel infections. Please discuss this with your doctor am sure he will provide further assistance. Regards.
