I was dumb enough to try ear candling even though studies show it doesn't do what is intended. People swear it helps them and I had been having congested ears. Long story short hot wax from the candle dripped into my ear and now I am in pain. This morning a piece of "candle" wax came out of my ear but I am almost certain there is more in there. My hearing is muffled and when i move my head while sleeping the crackling wakes me up. Any advice or solutions?
On Monday morning I woke with an ear infection. I went to the doctor right away and was given Otic Edge, told to continue an antibiotic I was already on, to call if it wasn't felling better in a couple of days, and to schedule a recheck for a week later. Thursday, my ear still felt plugged, I was getting sharp pains, and ringing so I went back to the doctor. He said that there is alot of drainage in there and it kinda looked like swimmer's ear.
I've never tried or heard much of ear candling... Is it instant relief? Does the hot wax pour into the ear??
Sounds like "glue ear" secondary to a middle ear infection.
How long has this been going on? No Pediatrician visit?
We have had a bad streak lately. Gary has gone through a sinus infection, bronchitis, coxsakie, stomach bug, and now an ear infection in the past couple months. He was prescribed drops because he has been on antibiotics twice in 2 months. I don't think it is getting better after 6 days of drops. Dh & I are going to Virginia for a wedding this weekend so I am going to take him to be checked aging today or tomorrow. The problem with GW is he doesn't recognize or acknowledge pain.
My son is 3 1/2 and he had one ear infection and it wouldn't go away even with many different types of antibiotics. He had tubes put in his ears and they took over a year to fall out. He only had about 2 or 3 ear infections while they were in. Well they finally fell out and he's been having trouble hearing. I find myself talking loudly and sometimes having to yell at him. I took him to the ear doc and he's got fluid again in his ears blocking him from hearing good.
where is it swollen the outside part or the inside. my kids used to get ear infections all of the time (4 boys with ear infection AGH) any way sometimes they would cry like bloody murder and other times they wouldn't cry and I would have to go in for a chek up and they would have an ear infection and need medication. I would call his doctor and just check with them
it could be a bug bite or a bee sting.
My kids' pediatrician told me that most ear infections are viral and not bacterial, so antibiotic wouldn't help. Now she was talking about kids, don't know if it's the same for adults. There are natural remedies for ear infections. Don't remember any off the top of my head because we've been blessed to not have any in years, but you can definitely google home remedies and see if any help.
My whole life my hearing was perfect,but that changed in april 2023. I had the flue and I have realised my hearing in right ear was not good. I did not have any pain ,diziness,discharge or tinitus. The only thing was I could not hear properly what my kids were saying.I went to ENT doctor and they had to do a paracentesis.Right after,everything was ok, I could hear perfect, no complications.
In august 2023 the feeling that I can not hear properly on the same ear was back.
It does work well as it stimulates the inner ear directly bypassing the ear drum and the middle ear. It is usually done under general anesthesia, not a very painful surgery. Before undergoing the surgery ask your doctor to perform a pre-surgical check up on your child with the prototype of those hearing aids. Anymore doubts you are welcome.
I normally love to be around kids but since I got pregnant my patience for them has really disappeared. I'm excited about my baby & being a mom but I totally get what you're saying.
I'm wondering people's experience going from 2 kids to 3? We've just been totally surprised with baby number 3 and my youngest son is 14 months - big brother is 3 years old. I always wanted a third but I guess it just couldn't wait and wanted to join us super earlier than planned ;) I'm excited, nervous, shocked, worried, every mixed emotion possible I am feeling. I'm interested in time management, how you coped and just how much interference a third baby made if any?
Hi I'm 24 with 2 kids and for a few months now I've been gettin really bad dizzy spells and my ears will start ringing at first it wasn't so bad bt as the months have gone by they have become more frequent and now it's gotten to the point where I get so dizzy I almost or I do pass out and the ringing ears have made my head hurt so bad(to the point of tears) and a few times I've lost my sight n hearing.. I was told it was hbp bt my Dr says that's not the case..

I made it through another sober day! It feels awesome! My kids just wanted to cuddle and watch tv with their mom! It was so nice. I definitely had some hard times today but I got a little rest and got to play with my kids and best of all I did it without Norco. I also admitted my addiction to my best friend and she was nothing nut loving and supportive! IT was just what I needed. She told me she loved me and that I was strong! God sends just what you need when you need it most.
My golden lives in the pool during the summer and is prone to the ear infections. I clean her ears daily with the Epi otic mentioned above. I've used it on all my other Goldens in the past as well. It works great!!
The vinegar/alcohol is a good one as well. I use it on the kids and the dog if I'm out of the ear cleaner. If you have swimmers in your family, human or canine, this is a must have in the medicine cabinet during the summer.
