1622527 tn?1301644622 First of all, the Hopi have no role in inventing ear candling, it's from India. All evidence is that ear candles do nothing whatsoever except put melted candle in your ear, but people have been doing it for centuries and so if it makes you feel better, go for it. But again, it has failed all double blind studies.
Avatar f tn I can hear but, it feel like I have pressure in my ear and as though the right ear only. I also hear slight ringing at times including small clicking noises randomly. I have a 3rd follow up appointment w/ my ENT on Thursday. The 2 hearing tests at this point show loss of low frequency and voices sound high pitched in the right ear. Should I be going to a specialist? I suggested that I had water in my inner ear but, the doctor will not agree.
Avatar m tn I was dumb enough to try ear candling even though studies show it doesn't do what is intended. People swear it helps them and I had been having congested ears. Long story short hot wax from the candle dripped into my ear and now I am in pain. This morning a piece of "candle" wax came out of my ear but I am almost certain there is more in there. My hearing is muffled and when i move my head while sleeping the crackling wakes me up. Any advice or solutions?
Avatar m tn On Monday morning I woke with an ear infection. I went to the doctor right away and was given Otic Edge, told to continue an antibiotic I was already on, to call if it wasn't felling better in a couple of days, and to schedule a recheck for a week later. Thursday, my ear still felt plugged, I was getting sharp pains, and ringing so I went back to the doctor. He said that there is alot of drainage in there and it kinda looked like swimmer's ear.
Avatar n tn My husband is a doctor so we have exhausted the medical community, ENT, neurologist, internal medicine, chiropractic and all tests, MRI, CAT scan and the official vertigo test at the ENT. Nothing found anything. I finally heard about ear candling. I used 5 in one ear and 6 candles in the other and had INSTANT relief and these candles were full of wax and yeast. I will be repeating this as a preventative measure once a month or more often if needed but I finally have relief.
Avatar m tn Neuro-otologists (or neurotologists) are ENTs who have had years of extra training specifically in the inner ear and its connections to the brain. So they are the ones you want to see if a general ENT cannot help you with dizziness/hearing problems. There is a certificate in otology/neurotology that they get. If you aren't sure whether an ENT is a neurotologist, you can call their office and ask if the doctor has such a certificate. Or ask for a referral.
Avatar f tn There is no certification program for alcohol injection of a thyroid cyst. If you are referring to ECNU - this certification is reassuring (however is relatively new so many of my very experienced colleagues have not had time to certify). ECNU certification does not include PEI. As long as the doctor has experience with it and is doing frequent ultrasound guided FNA procedures, it should be fine.
Avatar f tn I currently live in CA (Orange county) and am considering the possibility of moving to TX (DFW) for work and be closer to my parents, sisters, nieces, nephews. I want to own a home and income property but it's so expensive in CA! TX is so much more affordable for our growing family. We pay $1,300 for a 2 bed, 1 bath small apt. There's 3, going on 4, of us.
Avatar f tn Congrats! Yeah i m from Texas myself. I lived in Amarillo for about a ear and a half and would drive through Lubbock on my way to visit family near Weatherford :) What are you naming your little girl?
Avatar n tn On December 23rd I french kissed a woman I had just met after flying from Ohio to Texas. A week before that I felt like I was getting a sinus or ear infection but it felt like it was going away. About a week later I had a heavy feeling in my left ear and the left side of my neck became extremely sore. The pain ended up going into my left collar bone. Then, I started getting weird aches and pains and was fatigued.

Avatar f tn I have been to the doctor several time, who has said that I have no ear infection, nothing. He told me it was stress induced and that I should take sleeping pill - I ended up in hospital. I then saw another female doctor who told that I did have an ear infection, gave me antibiotics and said that it would all go away. It didn't and now the left hand side of my face is starting to go numb.
Avatar n tn Hi. I think the best thing to do in your wife's case is to get a certification from the pathologist who read the biopsy slides regarding the invasiveness and malignant potential of your wife's tumor. Such a certification is most probably acceptable to the insurance company. As an alternative, you can have the biopsy slides reviewed by a second pathologist who can issue the certification.
4113881 tn?1415850276 Hi all! I just wanted to share something as I'm really excited. I went to the Alcohol & Drug Counselor certification class orientation last night. It was awesome! Right now Im in my last semester in college and will graduate with my 2 year AA in Social and Behavioral Sciences. That's all fine and good but it doesn't so much make me employable in what I want to do. I want to be a substance abuse counselor and to do that you have to get a recognized certification.
Avatar f tn I used to be a massage therapist with an dvanced certification in prenatal and yes they can be so great for your pregnant body!
Avatar f tn It started on Saturday, April 12th after I had been standing outside at work(I work at Six Flags Over Texas in Arlington, Texas) for 4 1/2 hours in 35-40 mile an hour steady winds with extremely high tree pollen counts this year. I was fine the the whole time being there, but driving home I started getting this dizzying, almost drunk feeling in my head and I had to put extra effort in concentrating on driving. Now it's almost 2 weeks and this feeling has not gone away.
