Dutasteride phase 3

Common Questions and Answers about Dutasteride phase 3

avodart

Avatar m tn I take Avodart (Dutasteride) 0.5 mg tabs twice a week for the past 6 months. I lowered the dose when I developed gynecomastia (breast tissue). Avodart has a long half life. Will it still work to help my benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH)? I have been taking Avodart for 5 years and it has been very helpful.
Avatar m tn I am suffering from BPH for the last 4 years and I am taking DUTASTERIDE (AVODART) and Alfuzosin . Unfortunately , these meds do not help much since few months ago. I also about a new procedure named: gat-goren (GG), that sounds as non-pervasive. Did anyone hear about the GG procedure and can share experience or knowledge about that ?
Avatar m tn Hello , i am 21 years old and to control hairfall i consulted a dermatologist and he prescribed ne a dose of 1 dutasteride tablet everyday for 20 days. I have completed 10 days of medication though it's helping in hair fall control many side effects too are coming out as: -reduced sex drive -testicle pain a little bit -thin ejaculation Will it be worth taking the tablets for another 10 days?
Avatar m tn What is normal time to stay Avodart ? The doc give enough for 3 weeks but I would think I would need to stay on for longer than that. I have had no side effects as I know of and I believe it has helped. How long has others stayed on this ? Thanks for any help.
Avatar m tn If your father has been prescribed a medication called dutasteride for treatment of the BPH, it is possible that the diclofenac was interacting with it and leading to his problems with urination. However, it is possible that the difficulty in urination could be due to the BPH itself and not related to the possible drug interaction. If the problem is due to an enlarged prostate, it would be better to have him undergo some procedures such as PVP (photoselective vaporization) to treat the BPH.
Avatar m tn 5 mcg calcitriol, some NSAIDs, and some vitamin E daily. I also took dutasteride for a total of 17 months. (On-and-off dutasteride convinced me that I could never endure serious ADT. Thus my "watchful waiting" could only be waiting for metastasis and death (or for the recent good news). I have no god and don't work with radioactive materials or unusual chemicals. Something in my simple faddish regimen apparently helped with my cancer. I hope it can help others.
Avatar f tn Am starting abbot phase 3 trials may 6th. Would like to hear from all who have been through or are going through this study.
Avatar m tn I am currently taking Dutasteride, but have taken Rapaflo, Myrbetrig and others over the years. They work for 3 months then right back to same urination issues. I am concerned about elevating PSA numbers but have not gotten answers after seeing 4 different urologist! Ideas ? Thanks for your times!
Avatar m tn 'Prove 3' is simply a nickname that Vertex Pharm gave to it Phase 2 trial for VX-590 (teleprivir). The 'real' phases of drug trials are the purview of the FDA. Companies can give them names if they wish but the outlines of trials are according to FDA rules.
Avatar m tn 2 and the one thing that sticks out to me is that all are basically the same except for the T/P/R 8 week and the extended 16 weeks of P/R to bring it to 24 weeks in the phase 3 trial. I am wondering if the 8 week T/P/R is shorter than the other 12 week T/P/R’s in prove 1&2 because of the severe rash associated with the longer duration of the 12 week course?
Avatar n tn Dutasteride is a powerful drug and still with much mystery. Conflicting information about its half-life has been released with popular estimates including 10 days and a whole month. The drug maker warns against blood donations prior to six months of cessation. I am no scientist but understand that Dutateride needs time much longer than 6 months to leave your system. Fathers claiming to have fathered healthy boys speak too soon as the drug's effects may not emerge until puberty.
Avatar m tn some time has elapsed) The issue that is being explored now in 2 more phase 3 FDA trials is possibly if treating any triple therapy slower responders to longer periods of SOC could help in the ultimate success rate. It's another topic.... but one of those trials also will explore the effects of predosing with SOC (4 weeks I think) before starting the TVR.
Avatar f tn Hey Guys! First of all I hope everyone has a great 4th of July. Hre's is my situation. My last cycle was like 42 days long. I am usually around 29-31 I have never had a set day. Well, I took like a bunch of tests all negative. Then at day 13 I got my period again. This time it lasted a full 6 days. I haven't had a full 6 day period since I was like 18. Ever since then I have had 3 days periods.
Avatar n tn Sorry unfortunately a phase III is pretty far off.. Their "early candidate" finished phase I but they're working on an "enhanced version" for phase I by 2010. http://biz.yahoo.com/ccn/081223/200812230504336001.html?.v=1 I wonder if the early candidate was safe but they noticed something that made them want to enhance it...
Avatar f tn All my friends that have been pregnant have told me they did it on day 3, 6 and then 9 after there period finished . They all were on the pill and fell pregnant 1 month after stopping the pill. However I've never been on the pill so I'm yet to master the cycle.
Avatar f tn How do you count to determine your luteal phase? Do you start the day after ovulation and count until the day OF your period? Or from the day after ovulation to the day before your period (I read this somewhere)? I think my phase is short but my dr is dismissing my concerns. It would explain a lot... Thanks!
