I was recently switched from Paroxetine to Fluoxetine. It was one of the best decisions I have ever made. When on Paroxetine and I was tired ALL the time. I was literally falling asleep at my desk. Unfortunately it is not uncommon if you miss a dose to be experiencing these problems if your on a high dose, my patients even at a dose of 30mg do experience brain zaps, nausea and vomiting even with just one day missed.

Does anyone know if alpha blockers negate the positive effects of Duloxetine? It seems that if norepinephrine is blocked via the alpha blocker than it would cancel out the effect of the norepinephrine re-uptake and subsequent positive effects of an SNRI.

Hi Everyone, I am new to the anxiety forum. Had a a few weeks of anxiety hit me in January when I was having medical testing done. I am 36 and have high blood pressure every time I see a doctor as I just get so nervous when I go to the doctor. They ran tests which freaked me out even more and wham, I was then anxiouss all the time. The tests eventually all came back normal. With that reassurance my anxiety vanished.& I was even able ot take my BP at home with no anxiety.

I have a generalized anxiety disorder and a phobia of HIV and rabies. I went to get my blood work down and the nurse used a vacutainer to draw blood. However, the vacutainer holder was reused ( the nurse confirmed it is only the needle which is changed and not the holder as it does not come into contact with the patient) and now I think I will get HIV and I keep thinking about HIV until I get tested again at 3 months after the window period. luckily I have medicines however I hate this.

I would not have recommend you to go onto duloxetine, in some, duloxetine can cause kidney and liver problems, drinking alcohol while taking this drug will unfortunately increase that risk and even more so with someone with your condition.

I have been getting bad anxiety attacks lately worrying about not working and spending my savings as result of this due to recession I live in North West England and jobs seem negligable . I have also not been sleeping properly and suffering insomnia iwhich is unusual for me . Could anybody help me as packed in effexor and duloxetine 7 months ago and been on 5htp since?

The medicine which psychiatrist has describef Zuloxet(duloxetine hydrochloride) 30mg per day will it provide relief from anxiety completely? In your country it is manufactured by the name of cymbalta I think.

Duloxetine normally has the other effect of actually switching off the hunger levels in the body unlike sertaline so you should be fine

The only thing I have found in the literature so far that I can try is combining Gabapentin with Duloxetine. I did take Duloxetine previously for pain (adjunct to the Celebrex) and it did help, but my GP is skeptical that Gabapentin would help even if combined with Duloxetine. Does anyone else have Osteoarthritis and is unable to take NSAIDS and have you found a medication that works? Thanks in advance for your replies.
