zofran

Avatar f tn I have some ondansetron 8mg for vomiting for me what would be the dosage for a dog that has terrible motion sickness in car
Avatar f tn If you get hospitalized for dehydration and lack of nutrition, the docs will give you Zofran in an IV anyway. I tried motion sickness wristbands, ginger everything first. My babies palate is fine in the ultrasounds. I am now 36 weeks.
Avatar f tn That is the generic name for zofran.
Avatar m tn This is why they give to cancer chemotherapy, radiation therapy and surgery patients. It is in a class of medications called 5-HT3 receptor antagonists and works by blocking the action of serotonin, a natural substance that may cause nausea and vomiting. I just got a bottle of 30 Ondansetron on Medicare for $5. There are also other similar meds you can take so you should find a solution and not have to deal with what you have been.
585414 tn?1288941302 A 2006 double-blind, randomized controlled trial indicated that ondansetron may have value in the treatment of schizophrenia, as an adjunct to haloperidol.
Avatar f tn No abnormalities were noted in the offspring of these two women. Ondansetron is only recommended for use during pregnancy when benefit outweighs risk.
Avatar f tn Zofran/Ondansetron is also used in pregnancy. I felt safe using this during pregnancy as I have known more women who have used it without any problems. it's a newer drug and works very well without the sedating side effects that promethazine can have. Here is the FDA information too. Ondansetron has been assigned to pregnancy category B by the FDA. Animal studies failed to reveal evidence of fetal damage. There are no controlled data in human pregnancy.

Ondansetron is in a class of medications called 5-HT3 receptor antagonists. 1201433 tn?1328997637 Zofran tablets, syrup and injection all contain the active ingredient ondansetron hydrochloride dihydrate, which is a type of medicine called a 5HT3 antagonist. (NB. Ondansetron is also available without a brand name, ie as the generic medicine.) Ondansetron is used to prevent and treat nausea and vomiting that can be caused by chemotherapy or radiotherapy treatment for cancer, or by surgery. Vomiting is controlled by an area of the brain called the vomiting centre.
Avatar m tn "I'm finding that taking ondansetron isn't working very well for me anymore, especially in the mornings." So how long did it work for you and when are you starting the granisetron? Do you know if your doctor has given these meds to other patients on tx or is it just a hit and miss approach? I think it's great that he's willing to look outside of the box but I've never heard of either one being used.
Avatar n tn The reason is that in a small amount of cases it has caused swelling of the brain. If you look at the label on cough syrup for children, even those typically recommend for age 6 and up (at least the brands I have seen.) When my 2 1/2 year old has a cold with a cough I give him milk slightly warmed with honey in it. I have also given him a teaspoon of honey on it's own. It works extremely well.
Avatar f tn My fiancé bought me seabands from CVS. you wear them and it focuses on your pressure points for nausea. They worked great for me.
Avatar n tn My 11 year old son is currently taking Dexadrine. He has slowly increased to 20 mg in the morning. His teacher and myself (my son too) have noticed a postitive change in his work output at school and during homework sessions. Two of the side effects are of great concern to me. My son can't sleep until well after 10:30 pm. (we are trying Melatonin, but haven't found the right dosage). The other side effect that is most troubling is the loss of appetite.
Avatar m tn Mine is reluctant to let me take that much because of some sort of drug interaction that could be bad for my heart. In fact I have to do EKG's once a month.
454366 tn?1211245301 Litium did give me a hyperactive thyroid condition. The med I was given for that has a side effect of osteoporosis in the lumbar in long term use (Synthroid). I ended up with litium toxicity a few years back because diuretics will cause that. As you know caffine is a diuretic (soft drinks) - which most kiddo's I know tend to drink. I would not allow litium to be given to my child; not going through what I have with it. I have a son who is ADHD.
Avatar f tn All I know is they do not prescribe it to one indivodual in large quantities and that bc it can affect and stay in your blood for so long they have to monitor how much an individual gets. Like if youve used it the last 6 months, ondansetron is one of two or three prescribed pills that eliminate you as a donor for plasma, blood, or other things.
Avatar f tn I have terrible morning sickness and I was given a prescription for ondansetron 4mg which is the generic version of zofran. I'm scared to take it because of the possible side effects and the warnings I've seen on TV. I don't want to take any risks when it comes to my baby. Any thoughts on this?
1916673 tn?1420233270 I have recently spent some time looking into the functioning of different antacids. After some considerable amount of reading, I have come to the conclusion that one of the best of this group of medications is Prilosec (omeprazole). I did once give this drug a poor rating, but recent evidence suggests it's actually proving to be one of the safest and most effective.
Avatar f tn I was put on 50 mg of zoloft a month ago and have had nausea ever since. It seems like it's been getting worse over the last couple of weeks. Yesterday I was prescribed Ondansetron ODT 4mg. It doesn't seem to help. Will the nausea go away?
Avatar n tn can zoloft cause or aggravate rage in young children? Will Tenex and or Zoloft aggravate psychotic features?
2062505 tn?1331089288 2 ounces of chedder cheese or Havarti cheese will do the trick. Ice cream (not low fat) is also good. Brautwurst has a lot of fat in it. One avacado contains enough fat for an Incivek dose. I think cream cheese is another high fat food. You need to read the labels. The food labels will tell you how much fat is in it and how much you ave to eat for a certain amount of fat. For other foods like avacados, you can find the fat content on the internet.
Avatar n tn Hello Doug, Since I am a psychologist and not a prescriber, I can give you information about stimulants and ADHD in general, but the only one who should be talking specific dosage with you is someone who has reviewed your medical history and given you a physical. I see you wrote that you are taking zoloft at a pretty standard dose, but as I am sure you have discovered the SSRIs are a very different experience from stimulants.
Avatar f tn I almost feel guilty for complaining but I need some sort of relief if possible. Did anything work for any of you? What about that constant bitter taste all the time? Please share your remedies/stories with me. Thanks.
Avatar f tn what dosage of oxycontin should you give a child undre the age of 18? I'm writing a paper on it.
1711722 tn?1356487554 I was prescribed 4 mg of zofran to take every 6 hours as needed, however that low dosage wasn't working for me so I asked to double up on it to two 4mg pills and I do them an hour before my RBA. I'm not even on Vic yet so I was thinking if it gets worst with Vic I'll change up to Phenergan as some people have said that it (nausea) may get worst after the start of the PI.

1348086 tn?1370783185 I went threw this while taking Cymbalta. The nausea would come out of no where at times. Can you give your Dr a call in the morning to let him/her know about the nausea? Your Dr will let you know what you can safely take with Cymbalta.
