zofran dosage for children

I took zofran from the time I was 2 months pregnant until birth for severe morning sickness . My son was born with no hand . I dont know if theres a coneection .

I have some ondansetron 8mg for vomiting for me what would be the dosage for a dog that has terrible motion sickness in car

So it was either zofran or starve. Thank goodness for zofran in my case. Also all medication has risk. Even benadryl which is called safe during pregnancy is rumored to cause cleft lip. I've taken it to. A lot of people have. Its pick and choose in this world when It comes to things like this.

My doctor and I agreed that the benefits outweigh the risks. Zofran for pregnant women has been available for almost 20 years if it was as bad as they say we wouldn't have just been hearing about ambulance chasing lawsuits. I had severe morning sickness with my daughter to the point I couldn't keeps down spoons of water eve for my entire pregnancy I was on it so me and baby didn't die. This time around u was o. It until I was 22 weeks along. My children are perfect.

Evening, my sister had her first chemo with Cisplatin. She has been very nauseous for the last 3 days. She has tried drinking ice water, ice chips, propel, ginger ale . She is taking the following ani-nausea medicines zofran every 8 hours and taking promethazine every 4 hours. Does anyone have any suggestions to help with the nausea? Also if you are on or have had cisplatin , please let us know what your dosage is and how bad the nausea is?

They both work pretty good for me..the zofran does work a little better for me though but it makes me so constipated (tmi) and the promethazine will make you so sleepy! I still need both occasionally :/ 32 weeks today!

Dmpnonna, I weighed 120 before pregnancy. Minus 40 pounds. I got down to 79 pounds. I went into preterm labor bc my body just simply could not support the weight of my baby. At 22 weeks my baby would not have survived. I was told by so many doctors "you have your baby now, he WILL die" zofran saved his life. If it wasn't for zofran I would weigh 107 now and I wouldn't still be carrying our sweet little boy at 30 weeks. Sometimes drugs are necessary.

Ask Dr for zofran, the 4 mg dissolving ones. Lifesaver in my last 2 pregnancies.

I was prescribed 4 mg of zofran to take every 6 hours as needed, however that low dosage wasn't working for me so I asked to double up on it to two 4mg pills and I do them an hour before my RBA. I'm not even on Vic yet so I was thinking if it gets worst with Vic I'll change up to Phenergan as some people have said that it (nausea) may get worst after the start of the PI.

I take both zofran and phenergan ..I was getting the zofran at first but my insurance only pays for 12 and I can get 50 of the other if you wake up in the middle of the night take one it works best that way ...I'm 27 w and still have bad morning sickness some days are better then others ...

can a dog aprox 60-70lbs take Zofran for motion or car sickness. for extended 8hr car ride.

If that does not work, then you probably need a prescription for Zofran which blocks the nausea and vomiting (which is caused by the drugs). Many of us used Zofran. It works very well for most of us. I took 8 mg every 8 hours for a few months. Don't let this go. It will snowball. If the phenergan does not work, then ask for Zofran. Zofran does not make you sleepy. Phenergan does. Phenergan is cheaper, but Zofran works better (in my opinion). It is used to treat the nausea from Chemo.

If you look at the label on cough syrup for children, even those typically recommend for age 6 and up (at least the brands I have seen.) When my 2 1/2 year old has a cold with a cough I give him milk slightly warmed with honey in it. I have also given him a teaspoon of honey on it's own. It works extremely well.

My brothers girlfriend was on zofran most her pregnancy and my niece was and is fine. My oldest sister was on zofran with both her children and my niece was born not breathing and my nephew had to have a blockage removed from his heart a month after being born. So I personally don't want to take any chances. Good luck whichever u choose.

Try eating some saltine crackers and drink some water and lay down and take deep breaths. That's what I did when I felt sick and it helped me.

I am currently 26 weeks pregnant. I'm currently taking Zofran because I can't keep anything down as far as food. After reading a few post in this group. I hav heard about people using Zofran and there babies coming out with defects or women having miscarriages....

Yeah the Zofran "study" is total ********. It's only if you're getting the 32mg IV dosage on a regular basis that any problems can occur. Those on 4-8mg pills or IV doses are perfectly fine. You can take up to 32mg per day, just not all at the same time. I'm part of a group of 3000 moms, all of who have been on Zofran, and not one of them has had issues from the Zofran. I'm on it myself, along with Diclegis.

That Is horrible. Zofran is usually only prescribed for mild nausea. Sounds like you need to having something different. Hope you feel better. Drink lotsof wwater.

Diclegis didn't work for me. I had to take Zofran. I'm scared to take it too but that's the only thing that was working for me. I only take it if I absolutely need it. I've had complications staying hydrated and eating anything so I'm hoping it gets better.

I gave birth to a baby boy 7 months ago. While I was pregnant I was prescribed Zofran and my son was born with a severe deformation to both feet. I just saw on tv that there is a lawsuit going on concerning this. I could not get to a pen fast enough so if anyone has the number please let me know ASAP. Thank you. Please don't anyone take Zofran for any reason during pregnancy.
