468015 tn?1218719780 A third degree AV block, also known as complete heart block, is a defect of the electrical system of the heart, in which the impulse generated in the atria (typically the SA node on top of the right atrium) does not propagate to the ventricles.
754107 tn?1233668478 Hi, I was diagnosed over the last week with heart block, at least type II; I was lucky that I already have a pacemaker implanted. If anyone has any experience with heart block I would greatly appreciate any input on related topics. I have long-term chronic afib with a few ablation surgeries but this is a new diagnosis based on an EKG during a few days I spent in the hospital due to the symptoms feeling different than usual.
Avatar m tn My PVC are caused by a small patch of hyperactive cardiac cells in one place in my heart. They are not caused by my first degree heart block, which has no symptoms at all. Heart block has two major causes. One is congenital: This is due to the type of wiring of the heart that you are born with, and it cannot be changed by diet, exercise, and so on.
147426 tn?1317265632 Too bad that I don't drink at all, a glass of wine may be just what I need now and then. They say it's good for the heart...so it's even approved by the Medical Community.
Avatar m tn She is not alcoholically person and never drink in her live. She has heart disease and take atorvastatin for 10 years and also donepezil and ladiomil for 4 years. Since her doctor discover problem with GOT and GPT she stopped taking atorvastatin (3mounts before) because they were suspicious that atorvastatin was reason for this problem but again GOP and GPT increase. Next step was cancer marker (CA19-9 = 34.4, AST = 5.47, CEA=3.22) and virus markers (HBsAg Es = 0.13 negative, Anti-HCV = 0.
Avatar m tn Doc Said Have a Silent Heart Attack thats y mine lower area of Heart is Damage.................my artery is completely block.............i just wana Know that is that damage is Recoverable or Repairable? ............and also how much it is dangerous?
Avatar f tn I am a 29yo male. I've never had any significant health issues. However, when I was 16 years old I was diagnosed with 1st degree atrioventricular heart block. I've never really noticed any symptoms and I understand it is common among active people and athletes. However, my mother was diagnosed with 3rd degree AV heart block and had a pacemaker put in at 33 years old.
Avatar m tn I have just been put on a monitor for 7 days having been diagnosed with Intermittent heart block, naturally this has made me more sensitive to being breathless or dizzy. However, there is also the issue of the "red car syndrome". You know how it is; you buy a red car and every car you see on the road seems to be red. So I am more aware of any variations in how I feel at any moment in time.
1635396 tn?1301883247 It is very common for the RCA to develop cross feeds and adapt for good flow, so there is no real concern there. Mine was seen to be that was in Feb 07 and was probably like it for many years prior. It's just a shame the left artery and circumflex don't have the same level of ability. Now your left artery is opened, you say you have no symptoms which is great, but obviously take it easy for a few weeks so your heart can fully recover/adapt back to normality.
Avatar m tn Besides Clonazepan, Solof, Lorazepan, Divalproex, Citalopran, Donepezil,Divalproex, Enalapril, Carb/Levo tab she started taking Ziprasidone four weeks ago. Please tell me if she should stop taking some of those medications.
Avatar f tn The significance can be an incomplete bundle branch block and sometimes indicates underlying heart disease; especially when it occurs on the right side (i.e., incomplete RBBB,) it often has no significance at all. So in general, incomplete bundle branch block should begin a routine non-invasive search for underlying heart disease. If none is found, no further tests or treatment are needed. If your husband hasn't had symptoms of skipped heartbeats, irregular fast heart rate, etc.
Avatar n tn i suffer from palpitations since 9 yrs.now after exertion my heart is beating regularly for a few beats and then taking a pause then again beating normally.is it av block?
Avatar n tn Now I am suffering with low blood circulation. Due to 3 blocks in artery and block in lower limbs and other some parts. can I survive for some years?
Avatar m tn This has now settled and I now have first degree heart block and am doing a cardiac rehab programme. My resting heart rate is 80 and my target exercise range is 101 - 113 but it only goes up to 98 during exercise (15 on Borg scale). Can you suggest what is causing this and what the implications / remedies may be.
Avatar m tn i am a 57 yrs male, diebetic, slightly obese, hypertensive, was having problem in even slow walk, CAG revealed following2VD - PDA ostial 99 % + distal LCx 100 % block, LAD diffuse 50 % lesion please inform the disease
Avatar f tn I have been diagnosed with the above earlier this year and also something to do with my left ventricle in the heart. I have had the usual tests (MRI, ECG etc), but no-one seems to be concerned with this, but over the past few months I have been suffering with having the sensation that I cannot breathe which seems to feel to me as though my heart is racing and my head feels all muffled and I am so tired all the time. I keep getting achy pains in my left arm and pins and needles feelings.
Avatar f tn Every single cardiologist /EP have told me over the years that 1st degree heart block is nothing. They still say that, but what about this new (finding)? I am not crazy about reading that it makes you 2xs likely to have afib-especially since they say people with even mild MVP are more likely to get afib. The article said the delay results in delyayed andn ineffective mitral valve closure. (what about those of us who already have that?)--will it worsen it?
1156727 tn?1309567608 I was diagnosed at 13 w/ (mild) ADD. I took 10 mg of ritalin & that did the trick. In '05, I was diagnosed w/ complete heart block & had a pacemaker inserted in June 2005. I still feel that I have "adult" ADD & over the past year & a half feel it has been getting worse. I didn't notice it at my last job b/c I had been there so long I could do the work in my sleep. I have been taking quite a few medical classes b/c I am study to be an Occupational Therapy Asst.
Avatar m tn Dear all, my premature son nearing two years old is diagnosed with heart block from the 24hrs holter scan result, however the doctor is saiding the it is a 2 to 1 and occasionally 3 to 1 sinus block and the result is 'not that bad'.. he said that the pacemaker solution can be put on hold for the mean time but close monitoring and check up again in 3 mths time will still need to be done... Very grateful if anyone can give any guidances/experiences on this condition...
Avatar f tn Does heart block always show up on an EKG or monitor or can it come and go?
Avatar m tn Two years ago I was diagnosed with a complete heart block and received a pace set to pace at 60. At my latest pacemaker check-up, the tech told me I am now pacing myself. She reset the pacemaker to fire only when needed - below 60. My question is how is it possible for a complete heart block to "heal" itself? Should I request a consult with my cardiologist?
Avatar n tn normal pulse rate, regular rhythm, usually no symptoms, usually no significant effect on cardiac output. There may be an increased interval between S1 and S2 heard if the PR interval is extremely long. So overall it sounds like a 1st degree heart block would only be found on an EKG strip, not because the patient is feeling terrible.
1318351 tn?1313381421 The symptoms and severity of a heart block depend on which type you have. First-degree heart block rarely causes severe symptoms (but your saying that your having some sypmtoms), Second-degree heart block may result in the heart skipping a beat or beats. This type of heart block also can make you feel dizzy or faint. Third-degree heart block limits the heart's ability to pump blood to the rest of the body. This type of heart block may cause fatigue (tiredness), dizziness, and fainting.
