Do you know if your brother in law has autism caused by Fragile X (easy to test via a simple bloss test) ? If so, that type of autism (which is a minority of the cases) is passed to the child by the mother. Well it's been 15 yrs. For me, but when I was pregnant w my first son, I took ssri anti depressants (Zoloft). I have decided to cut out ALL my head meds this pregnancy, although my provider insists there's no correlation between ssris and Autism, although I find it interesting that ssris came out in the early 90s and the spike in Autism began about that time as well.

My daughter is 28 months old and I've been worried because I believe she is showing signs of autism the only words she says is ( shoes, eyes, and nose) She doesn't like to play with other kids and she sometimes screams and crys for no reason and she doesnt respond to siple tasks that I ask her to do.

Autism is hard to understand - my 5 yr old was diagnosed at 2 with it. The most I can suggest is that you visit the Autism Speaks site, there's many resource sites out there. National Autism Resources is a great site to find useful equipment to help too... Ive ordered picture books and puzzles from there for my son. They're expensive but its worth it to see that light bulb go on in his head as he understands things.
