skelaxin

Avatar f tn Having some very bad lower back pain today that tylenol isn't touching. I was wondering about Skelaxin. I have some and have taken it in the past...but don't even remember side effects or how I felt taking it or anything. Is this addictive?Anybody know anything about it? Thanks!
Avatar m tn I tKe it as prescribed I have never gone over the maximum dose, I am just concerned about possible withdrawal or anything like that from skelaxin. I have read up on it a lot and it seems pretty harmless and safe, especially compared to other back pain medications. I have refused somas and other narcotics because I don't want to go down that road. Just concerned if say I work 5 days in a row and I take the skelaxin every day. Than I'm off for two days.
493368 tn?1209757681 what kind of pain pills will really help Rheumitioid Arthritis, it feels like that computer game called "Pac Man" is eating my joints and small bones in wrists and feets. PLEASE GOD MAKE IT GO AWAY !!!!
1054108 tn?1314298660 Well, I believe it does suppress natural killer cells in the uterus, so it is used for those with immune problems. It has other effects on the immune system that I don't fully understand - I will try to find out more. But, it also improves blood flow to the ovaries, improving follicle development, and improves blood flow to the uterus, improving the quality of the uterine lining. This increases the odds that implantation will be successful.
Avatar m tn My doc just gave me Skelaxin for my back pain and said it might help. I have been trying to cut back taking hydro and I don't want to take anything that is going to make me woosey. I started into therapy last week and it is really making my back hurt. The nurosurgeon I saw said I have from L-1 to S-1 messed up and he does not think surgery would help any. So he just said take the hydro because your not taking that many (only 3 a day 7.
Avatar n tn I have never been much of a drinker, if i had 5 drinks/year that was a lot. In the last year I have found that I enjoy a glass of wine or two in the evening. At the most I may drink 1-2 glasses 4 nights/week but usually less. What do you think is the most likely cause of elevated liver emzymes? How high is considered alarming?
Avatar f tn t take during the day,as I have small kids and it made me VERY sleepy!) Then I was put on Skelaxin and I feel like that does nothing( 800mg. 3x day) I could take 2 at one time and still...nothing? I think I'm going to ask to go back on Flexeril(for bed time) to reduce my pain and spasms) Thanks!
Avatar f tn She x-rayed my knee and saw arthritis , which I knew was there. I have arthritis both kinds. Have taken 800 mg Ibuprofen for the pain, try not to take it often as I know it elevates BP and harmful to body. I also take aspirin, tylenol, and wear a Flector pain patch when it gets unbearable. I alternate with the pain meds dont take them the same days. The doctor put me on Tramadol for pain and made an appt. with my regular MD April 5th.
Avatar m tn I logged in with a question about plavix, aspirin, and ibuprofen...i wanted to include a little background info. had a heart attack when i was 35, two stents and am now 41. other medications include coreg 25mg 2/day, procardia 60mg 2/day, diovan/hctz 160/25mg, clonidine .2mg 2/day, zocor 40mg, and anxiety meds (imagine that). two weeks ago, my cardiologist added procardia 30mg/as needed for controlling bp in midafternoon. i spend too much time with meds . is there anything i'm missing?
450140 tn?1317947304 I will start those tomorrow. It says take 3x a day, every 8 hours. And if need be a 4th one can be taken. Does this sound right ........every 8 hours?? Please tell me what you think. I pray that everyone is doing ok. This limboland is really taking its toll on me and my family. Have not worked since Jan. that is putting a strain on us finacially. Not to mention, all the worry about my health. My husband, and my girls are almost as fustrated as I am.
Avatar m tn Hi & Welcome, I was prescribe Soma for many yers-I have 5 herniated disk, DDD, sciatica and Arthritis in my back. I get muscle spasms that are horrendous. The Soma DID work for me. Recently the FDA classified it as a narcotic, or at least put it in the same class. If you don't have muscle problems I would not take it. It is habit forming. Again, it is ONLY for muscle spasms or any other muscle problem. It will NOT help with the pain in your back.
Avatar n tn Just make sure he takes it easy when he comes home, don't over do it , and does not pick anything heavy up. My boyfriend had the same thing in October and he really should not have tried to do what he was doing. I think that he over did it and caused more problems. Make sure that he also takes all medications prescribed and even the do not tell him when he leaves the hospital make sure that even if they put him on a blood thinner such as Plavix that he also takes a 81mg Aspirin a day.
Avatar f tn Baby aspirin can be used in pregnant for multiples, or a history of bleeding disorders associated with pregnancy. You should talk to your doctor before starting baby aspirin.
Avatar f tn I don't have cancer in bladder or kidneys it's plavix and aspirin that's caused blood in urine
Avatar f tn not habit forming but if u take it every night u get kinda used to it...my brother takes it for migraines and i have it prescribed for back pain...also an AD in higher doses...hang in there...
Avatar f tn Having DDD in the neck is going to leave you with some pain that may be exagerated in the first few weeks. give it just a little time to level out before you try to judge what your "normal" pain will be. Try some ben-gay as well, it helped for me, and the awful stink of it seemed to help with the drippy nose! :) Hang in there, you're doing great!
Avatar f tn I had some help with it, I think, though continued to have more mild headaches while on it, if I recall correctly (a lot of years have gone by since). I'm so glad you found something that worked for your transfer migraines!
Avatar m tn It is an expensive drug, but so was our habit. I understand that it does not work for everybody, but I certainly think it is worth a shot for some of you. Let me know what you think. Do you think taking Lyrica is cheating? I do feel a little guilty, because when I took it my body went ahhhh. I thought it would work like a stronger aspirin, but it works much better.
641304 tn?1434543092 I just wanted to say GOOD LUCK with your FET! I have heard that baby aspirin can help. I am doing an IVF in Feb/March and I was going to ask my RE about using baby aspirin. Once again Good LUCK!!!!
Avatar n tn t seem to be particularly helpful, but I have noticed that when I take a buffered aspirin along with it, my rhythm seems to improve. Does anyone have an answer as to why this may occur? Is it an indicator that I may have some blockage that responds to the blood thinning effects in aspirin. Am I at risk of going into heart failure because of the very frequent ectopic beats?
Avatar f tn I have been getting an aura in both eyes (like a migraine aura with no headache that lasts about 15minutes to a half hour) since I was told to increase my neurontin, daily, but I was also put on Celebrex and Skelaxin at the same time. I've been off of Skelaxin since March 2010. I went off of Celebrex first as I read an article that was in a New Zealand journal of medicine that said it causes rare (9/300 people) visual disturbance.
Avatar m tn Thank you so much for your comment. I have googled fybromyalgia before. A lot of the symptoms sound very similar. I guess I just wanted to make sure it wasn't a major problem like my heart before I jumped straight to fybro. I will look further into it. Thanks again.
Avatar n tn what is your heart rate at rest, is it regular, does the HR related in any synchronized way with the flutter you feel...just some thinking of things that may help get more helpful input.
Avatar f tn I asked my doctor (RE) about taking 81 mg of baby aspirin to encourage blood flow to the uterus but she said the effects are not proven and therefore she does not use it in her practice. I'd still like to try it, however..particularly because my menses was especially "clotty" this month (sorry tmi!). But I also take flaxseed oil and I want to make sure that taking both of these won't be an issue. I'm on my 4th round of clomid 100 mgs, days 3-7 with progesterone supps.
Avatar f tn ] If it does turn out to be a true link in the future, then it will be only one of many factors involved in causing Crohn's disease," he said. "Because aspirin has benefits, users should continue with it." That's my favorite line: keep using it nevertheless! MDs are only human, and they make mistakes constantly.
1626928 tn?1378850167 I was on baby aspirin while TTC (it was suggested to me by my RE after my first miscarriage) and many others on here have been in baby aspirin too. But check with your doctor just to be sure. Good luck this month!
