My fiancé suffers from severe anxiety and has been taking 250 mg of Luvox daily. He is extremely exhausted. He can not even stand up, drive or be social involved. Feeling this way is even making him depressed and have no motivation. He already lowered the Luvox dosage a few times already. Is this medicine for him?

i am on zoloft 75mg and have been breaking out in a rash since i started taking it in april but am just now realizing it could be the zoloft. does anyone have any experiance with this or can recommend another medicine that may work for my ocd and anxiety. my ocd is the scary thoughts and it was all caused after a major surgery i went through. it is getting better but i still have some issues.

Your problem is not with the medications, but with your obsessions. You should ask your new doctor to help you talk through and understand your obsessions, not just give you new medications.

Hi. I have panic disorder. Took Celexa for 7 years and it pooped out. Pdoc prescribed Luvox. Have taken that for five months and it's just not doing the trick. Still have anxiety and breakthrough panic attacks. He has given me the choice of lexapro or Zoloft. Since Celexa and lexapro are so similar, I'm concerned that the lexapro won't work given that the Celexa stopped working.

After ten years I started having tinnitus and visual anomalies, like while driving down the road I couldn't look at the things passing by because it started to make me feel dizzy. He went to two different therapist who did not help at all. We are going to a new therapist next week who deals and works with OCD. I know medications work and effect people differently, but why are they not consistent? I went to the pdoc yesterday. She wants me to try luvox. Anyone had experience with it? Did it work? I told her I was really worried about gaining weight on it and it making me a zombie so I hope that doesn't happen. She said she's never seen anyone gain weight on it. I am a runner too so that should combat any weight gain I hope. I am very excited about something actually working for me. I got more klonopin too for the anxiety so I can function until it works.

I have been on that combination for the last 4 years, and have been relatively stable with the anxiety being some what managable for the most part. Even so I am still dissatisfied with where I am right now, as I still show very many symptoms of OCD and anxiety.

My main concern is that the luvox will counteract the adderall in some way. Does any one have any experince with this or can give me some info on how luvoz has worked for them?

OCD is not that common, and Luvox has a great many side effects. Many of us with anxiety issues tend to become a bit OCD in a way to help minimize anxiety. If you do truly have OCD, you need to be on medication. I want to monitor your list, and follow up. Sounds like you're feeling a bit better and able to eat. I have suffered from Anxiety for most of my life. Occasionally I get these obsessions in my head that I can't get rid of no matter how hard I try. My newest one is a fear that my husband is going to cheat on me. I'm afraid because they say to trust your gut when it comes to that stuff.. But my gut has been wrong before. i thought adderal was supposed to stop them but with all meds you might have the opposite reaction, from memory it also makes you really ******* hungry, i take luvox for OCD its anti anxiety and anti depressant. Wirh any anti depressant you need to continutally monitor WHAT they are thinking cause for one person it make them fell normal and in another they may think hammering nails into their head is a cool idea. Nausea all that stuff is common, just check the thoughts, what are they thinking.

I SUFFER from deep depression and deeper anxiety. Mind races my luvox helps during the day with my mind racing...and celexa and xanax at night for insomnia. Xanax cause I can't even pump gas without feeling anxiety.

I took him to a alcohol treatment center for 30 days, when he came home that is when I found out that they diagnosed him with an anxiety disorder which is ocd. He was taking Luvox, I noticed how he had changed for the better, but then he quit taking it, and went right back to his old self. me on to help other anti depressant work. They also put me on luvox for OCD. i have heard good and bad things about these combos with adderall. I dont want them to counteract the drug. So any thoughts would be great. Thanks.

Yes, I have had that same thing happen! I feel your pain, or anxiety with that one. I have found that talking to a counselor helps. They give you tips on not paying attention to that intrusive thought. I hope you feel better and know that you are not alone.

has anyone here ever been on LUVOX? any luck? Im on celexa for depression and anxiety and OCD. its helping my depression and anxiety, but not really touching my OCD like my doctor had hoped. He upped my dose last week and Im going to give it a few weeks to see, but if it doesnt seem to be working, Im going to ask him about luvox.

Luvox is a different med, and won't necessarily substitute for Zoloft even though both are ssris. I believe the safe way to do this is to slowly taper off the Zoloft and when you're about done, assuming you don't have significant withdrawal, slowly substitute the Luvox. What you're suffering now appears to be withdrawal from abruptly terminating the Zoloft.

alright, so i went to the doctors yesterday because my anxiety has been really bad latley. my doctor decided to put me on a new anti - depressent. im currently on Luvox which i've been on for about 9 years now, and he's weaning me off of that to half of my normal dose for ten days, then he's putting me on 10 mg of Lexapro (the new one he's put me on) while still taking the half of Luvox, then after a week im going completley off the Luvox and then taking 20 mg of Lexapro.

i started geodon and luvox 2 days ago. i started haveing weird feelings from the medine such as being real drowsy in the mornings and throughout the afternoon. i have even had some scary obsessive thoughts that i havnt had in a really long time. could this be cause by anxiety from starting new meds? i have also recently found out that there is a 3yr old girl that might be mine and i have an appt to find out for sure in a week. im having a hundred different emotions from that situation as well.
