luvox and hair loss

I took Zoloft for 8 years with good results, however the effect of the drug lessoned and I began trying newer medications ie, Wellbutrin, Effexor, Cymbalta, Triliptal, Lexapro, Lamictal, Luvox, all of which caused significant hair loss. I am now on Celexa and my hair is starting to fall out. It is very disappointing. I wish I could do without an antidepressant, but I know that I have Unipolar/Bipolar II disorder and without medication I have an extremely difficult time.

The Luvox CR comes in 100 mg capsules. Would it be okay to take 200 mg of Luvox CR on one day and 100 mg of Luvox CR the next, and alternate since I can't divide the capsules? Thank you.

i have been on luvox for 1 year and its a very good medicine with minimum side effects ,so please give it a try and regarding weight gain i think it is the dullness caused by these medicines that we gain weight , which we can counter by exercises.

During all this I started a new job and I would lay in bed at night and have bad anxiety and panic attacks and I could not sleep . I stated taking .5 alprazolam and it helped for a little while then nothing. My dr. Started me on ambien and lunesta with little relief from either drug. The I started 100mg of trazadone with my .5 alprazolam. I started with a quarter of the trazadone .25 and quickly went all the way up to 200. And still it was a coin toss if I was going to sleep or not.

I took one 40mg pill of Latuda for six days and stopped and then about 40 hrs later took one 50mg pill of Luvox, and have been taking Luvox since then for a couple of days. I said, 26 hours at first but I counted wrong. Should I have waited longer before taking Luvox? How long before the Latuda is out of my body? I took my last pill of Latuda Tuesday, July 3rd at maybe like 11:00pm and my first pill of Luvox Friday July, 6th, around 12:00am.

Took Viagra no problem went back on klonopin and luvox and didnt need viagra. Had another case of performance anxiety two years later and my obsessions started again. Used Viagra and then no problem.Met my wife 6 months ago again performance anxiety, took cialis and it worked until I made a decision to try celexa for two weeks and I dont know if it was my anxiety or fear or did it really kill my sex drive. Viagra or Cialis didnt work. Went back on Luvox up to 150mg and Neurontin 300mg 2x a day.

im having a hundred different emotions from that situation as well. has anyone had similar side effects from taking geodon and luvox and what are some side effects if any that i should look out for?

I have an 11 yo daugthe ris being taken off of Luvox 50 mg after 1 1/2 yr. and going to start Cymbalta 30 mg. The doc said to just switch. Is this safe? Does anyone have any input? Please help!

I am on Trileptal, Lamictal, and Luvox. The only reason why I am really confused is because we haven't made any medication changes for quite a while now. I was very stable for a while, and still am emotionally, but these nightmares and sweats are getting a bit concerning. I just don't like not knowing what is going on with my body. Can your medication start giving you side effects even after being on them for a long time.

lUVOX IS FANTASTIC FOR MY DEPRESSION AND OCD. I also have the greatest therapist in the world. Along with his help, luvox has been like gold.

Ask her why Luvox? It isn't used often, it has a very short half life, and interacts adversely with many medications. As for weight gain, you can gain weight on any of them. Or not. I was an avid basketball player, studied kung fu, and ran while on Paxil and gained 50 pounds. You just never know.

i was on luvox for many year's and it did great,then i had a down turn and went into depression and did not care about anything.so now i am on effexor.it seem's ok,but not as good as luvox was.they said after that many year's on it,it could have run it's course.so they changed it.i asked my doctor if i could go back on luvox because it worked really well for me,and she said that will definatley be open for disscussion.

I too pull out eyebrows, pubes, and head hair. My first memory of this is when I was 12 and I'd plucked the whole of one eyebrow and my mum had to draw it back on for me. I'm 37 and still do it but less frequently so I don't see it as too much of a problem as long as I don't concentrate to long on one part. I also pick my skin but in more hidden places. t realizing from your post, I think, is that your wife has already quit this drug -- she tapered off it probably at a slower and safer rate of speed than most doctors and psychiatrists would have done. But Luvox has the shortest half-life of any antidepressant out there, which means it leaves the body very very quickly. That makes it hard for the brain to adapt to operating normally again.

Only in the past 20 days, hair fall has gone up. Does hair straightening dry out the hair causing lack of moisture and thus hair fall?? I truly hope that this is temporary as you mentioned!!

I just finished Sovaldi and olysio and no hair loss at all, in fact hair looked great I do have hypothyroid which is familial, mother , daughters have it, Check your thyroid levels That can effect hair loss, dryness etc( even my eye brows and under arms thinned from hypothyroidism ) You may need to be on thyroid medication such as synthyroid if it is off

My fiancé suffers from severe anxiety and has been taking 250 mg of Luvox daily. He is extremely exhausted. He can not even stand up, drive or be social involved. I have seen a local Derm who said there was no scarring on my scalp and no real skin issues associated with my hair loss. In 2004 I took a course of Roaccutane for acne and noticed some thinning after the course finished. I was told that this was a known side effect, but that the hair would grow back. It has been over four years!!! My hair is uniformly thinned out across the entire scalp.
