I'm 23 and on birth control (Loestrin 24). Normally my periods are somewhat regular, but really light and short. Last month I didn't have one, but I did have some slight spotting before my period was supposed to come. This month my period also skipped. I have no other symptoms of PCOS except some acne on my chin (but occasional breakouts are not uncommon for me, I have oily skin, plus an expired skin product and eating wheat with my allergy may have caused this).

Hello, I am 29 yo considering OC to help hormonal imbalance (not so much pregnancy prevention). I have cystic acne along my jawline. I have been using spironolactone 50mg daily about a year. Overall, it's improved about 50%, but will worsen during pre-mentraul flare ups. However, my derm is hesitant about increasing my dose and suggested adding on OC. Any reccomendation on what estrogen/progestin combo to try for acne?

I am wondering what is a good type of birth control to take for acne and that will regulate my period, but won't effect my hormones too much? I have tried mulitple birth control such as ortho-tricyclen and multiple others that I can't remember the names to. They each helped with my acne and to regulate my period significantly but I didn't like taking them.

I was on Loestrin 1/20 Fe for 2 years and it initially seemed to help the acne, but eventually it got worse. I switched to Estrostep 1/20 for 6 months and it got even worse. Then I switched to Ortho Cyclen in hope that the higher estrogen dosage would help. It has and my face is almost clear after 3 months. However, it has made me gain weight and be bloated all the time. This is not okay, so I definitely need to switch again because I cannot afford to buy all new clothes in the next size up.

My gf had not been on birth control for a year or more. She began taking Lo Loestrin Fe on Oct. 20, the first day of her period. The side effects (increased acne, severe anxiety and depression, emotional lability) were so severe for her that she decided to stop before the pack was done. I believe she took roughly 2 weeks and a few days of the pack (maybe 3 weeks total), then quit them because she was so miserable.

So like I said, this is aparently normal when on Loestrin. Im going to go on the generic of Loestrin, Junel Fe, which worked for me in the past and I think its 21 days of the pill and than 7 days of the "period" part. As much as I dread my period, it's a reassuring thing.

Both surgeons told me they do not understand why I have such inflammation per mri and just inject me with steroids. 3 months ago I started on loestrin for perimenopausal sympts that are so severe , including continual sweating , that it was necessary. Since the start of the loestrin , all of my symptoms have been so severe I am missing work . Today my Md. just increased my levothyroxine to 100mcg but did give me the option of the cytomel route. . I just want to feel better.

I started Lo Loestrin Fe oral birth control pill on January 14, 2014 after being off of it since Thanksgiving of 2013. Previously I had constant break-though bleeding (more like a period- for even 2 and a half weeks) and cramps. I switched to Microgestin and that made me so sick I stopped, and then restarted Lo Loestrin Fe. I have taken it everyday and have never missed a pill.

Hi, i have been on lo loestrin fe for 1 month. Today i am taking second brown pill, which is also the last one...i feel menstrual pain for a few days, but no menstruation. I am worried! Is pregnancy possible if i had intercourse with my bf (while i was on the pill) but he had never ejaculated inside? It is written that lo loestrin fe is protecting you from the first day if u are starting on the first day of your period. Thats how i did. But why is my period not coming?

I am waiting out a surgery to see if any hormone therapy will do the trick because I have to pay out of pocket. The doctor wants me to try loestrin 24 for 3 months. My question is, does anyone have experience with both? I hate to second guess my doctor, but I am wondering how a lower dose can do better for me than Yaz? Also, I have been extremely depressed since a month or two after starting Yaz, and I turned down anti-depressants in hopes that a new medication will help with that.

I eat a low fat diet and exercise daily, but I am on loestrin FE. Yesterday I noticed a feeling of stiffness in my ear and jaw that has continued through today. Is this indicative of a serious problem? Should I go to the ER?

I've been on my bc (loestrin fe) for about 7 months now. I've never missed a pill but occasionally take it at a different time. Between 7:10 and 7:30. I know that that's alright but I go on and off with periods. Sometimes it starts with the white pills and sometimes the red and sometimes not at all. I also have bleeding during my second week for about 3 days. Is this normal? Could I be pregnant? Should I be worried?

im eating way more, extremely moody and emotional, i occassionally get really bad stomach cramps. and i dont know if this has anything to do with it but my acne has been really bad for the past 2 months... i did switch to a new birth control in february, loestrin fe. i dont know if that could cause my period to stop. and now ive switched again to beyaz. ive been on birth control for a while but i have never gone this long without a period.

I have been on lo loestrin fe for the past 4 months. This past month I had breakthrough bleeding. I've been told that breakthrough bleeding means that I am not protected anymore, but does that mean that my pills were not working for the entire month prior to breakthrough or just the time after that? Could I have gotten pregnant before breakthrough even if I had taken pills regularly? Thanks so much!

Let your doctor know you are having mid cycle bleeding and an increase in acne. Did you miss any pills?

I was on Loestrin 24 for 5 years. It does help I did not have any problems with it at all. I just received my diagnosis of endmetriosis in August. I actually had to change pills because I started not getting my periods bc I had been on it so long. I did not gain any weight and did not have any bloating with the pill. I loved it. I was put on the pill at 16 due to severe menstrual cramping. I def. recommend that pill.

I am now on Microgestin 1/20 Fe generic version of Loestrin. Anyway what does anyone know about this? Any major side effects I should be worried about...I was reading that it causes bigger breast, weight gain, and low sex drive...is that true for anyone else who has taken it?

I am just SO nervous that I am going to gain weight and my running will be negatively impacted on the lo loestrin fe. Does anyone know if lo loestrin fe causes any weight gain or does anyone have any positive/negative experience with it?

Help - has anyone had a rash with Loestrin - I have been itching and have rash on stomache chest and back. I also experienced terrible depression that put me in a zombie state. I only used this drug for one week and my doctor took me off. Did anyone experience these symptoms???

per bloodwork, I am only in perimenopause and am on day 5 of Lo Loestrin. Has anyone had success feeling better on this bcp and did it take a couple of cycles to really notice. I get these periodic heart palps and adrenaline rushes throughout the day. I'm still taking flaxseed oil and evening primrose to help control, but am really hoping the Lo Loestrin makes a difference. Has anyone done well taking bcp for their peri symptoms?

I went on the pill for the same reason when I was 16. It didn't really make a difference with my acne, but it helped to regulate my periods and made them lighter, and more managable. But my acne got better as I got older. I also used acne cream from my pharmacist, if you go in and ask them, they will normally give you one from behind the counter, they are stronger than the ones you can pick up yourself, but not as strong as if they doctor was to prescribe it for you. Hopefully this helps!

I liked it better then Loestrin, since while on Loestrin I had breakthrough bleeding every single day. (So annoying.) But even with Femcon, I had breakthrough during the third week, but I was reading that a lot of women get breakthrough bleeding during the first couple of months.

Hey everyone. So this is the story. Last summer, I went on Loestrin Birth Control Pills.I was on it for about three months, then stopped taking it. Since them, I've had bad anxiety/depression. This might sound crazy, but I was wondering if the hormones could have somehow permanently altered my hormones/moods? And if there's anything I can do to reverse it. I recently started taking Loestrin 24. I started experiencing light bleeding during sex which lasts for a day or 2 then stops, but then occurs again the next time. It only happens during/after sex. I've never had this happen before. There was nothing abnormal when I had my check up and was given the prescription. Has anyone ever heard of this happening with this brand?
