Common Questions and Answers about Does clarinex cause drowsiness

clarinex

Avatar m tn For the itchy bumps, take antihistaminics like Benadryl(causes drowsiness) and Claritin and apply some calamine lotion on the rashes as it helps in soothing the skin. You can also apply mild steroid cream on the rash.If the symptoms persists then oral steroids may be needed which are available on prescription. Also keep the area well moisturized with good moisturiers. If the itching persists then pls get it evaluated from a dermatologist. I hope that helps.
Avatar f tn I do know the meds can cause that and I think they eventually adjust. Does the Vet know the cause! I really have no experience with seizures in any of my animals, thank goodness, but there have been those on the forums that have. Hope some of them will see this and respond. Do a search to see if you can find past discussions. Best of luck!
Avatar f tn I have been having drowsiness since past 4 months, sometimes with and without nausea. I have got my MRI of the brain, certain blood tests which were normal. one of the doctors diagnosed is as muscle spasm but i am so confused whats going on. please help me! Thanks!

Avatar n tn I use use Clarinex which helps a little. Tried Claritin and it did not do anything. Most nasal sprays help, a non steroid nasal spray such as NasalCrom might help too and is gentle with virtually no side effects. I found that allergy shots was the only thing that stopped it for me. I don't use nasal sprays anymore. My rynitis was really bad and clogging my air ways. Now it seems to be almost gone. I get a bit sticky but never more than clearing my throat kind of annoyance.
Avatar m tn Have your doctors mentioned the possibility of acid reflux with you. Acid reflux, specifically laryngeal-pharyngeal reflux, can cause the symptoms you describe. You might want to try some OTC reflux meds like prilosec or zantac. Feel better.
Avatar m tn This is a serious question. I have looked online quite a bit for the answer to my problem, but I have always found the exact opposite: drowsiness CAUSING erections. I am 20, 6'5'' 180lbs. I have this problem, it doesn't happen every single time but it happens enough for me to be concerned about it, when I get an erection I get immediately drowsy; as if someone shot me with a tranquilizer dart.
Avatar m tn I'm real confused about allergy symptoms & treatments, I've done alot of research on the internet, but never find what I'm really looking for. Common allergy symptoms are: sneezing, runny nose, itching, watery eyes, hives, rashes. But I never had these symptoms. My symptoms are, stuffy nose, swollen throat, excess mucus production, tight chest occassional difficulty breathing. I do not have Asthma, I am a smoker, had 3 PFT's return normal, breathing at 97%.
Avatar n tn I started taking it last night around 11pm and it is now 4pm the next day and the drowsiness has not worn off yet. I was on 15 mg of Remeron about 4 years ago and I don't remember the drowsiness being this bad! I know that it will take a while for my body to adjust to it but I'm not sure I can't wait that long. I am so out of it that I could not leave the house today. I'm dizzy so and am having trouble with my coordination so I'm afraid to drive.
Avatar n tn Another one some time back told me its because your eyes are dry and that artificial tears may help. I have tried this but it does not seem to be as that. I would like to request an opinion as to what might be the cause or if this can be fixed. I have done a google search on "itchy eye" and usually it points towards dry eyes. Just a note: my vision is perfect and there are no other problems other than losing the bottom eye lashes due to extensive rubbing of both eyes.
1831849 tn?1383228392 I just started taking baclofen for spasticity and recently upped my dose to 10mg 3X/Day. It helps but the associated drowsiness is killer. There are times when I'm sitting at work and just can't keep my eyes open. Any thoughts on alternatives or ways to combat the church nods? Caffeine is not an option as it wreaks havoc with my bladder...
519035 tn?1348275773 Thanks;) I have some allergy medicine, more in the chest now then in the head;)
Avatar f tn And very importantly it does take communication between you and your doctor so that he does understand how all of this is affecting you. I think that it is good to worry (slightly) about anything you take. People who take meds without understanding what is going on are really open for anything to happen. I do have the feeling that you are still a bit unsure as to why you are taking the ritalin and its possible effects on you.
345124 tn?1234483278 does it also cause you to have anxiety? i have been having that.
Avatar f tn Why are the side affects of antidepressants sleepiness drowsiness and weight gain? So, I’m supposed to get better from sleeping all day and having no motivation with medication that has these side effects? It makes no sense! They should prescribe Adderall for people who are depressed...
Avatar f tn Ive thought that i have develped asthma for a few weeks now because ive been extremely short of breath and had a tight chest. I also notice that it gets worse around my cat or smoke. Also, apprantly my dr agreed because he prescribed me an inhaler.
Avatar m tn No, it is an anti-spasmodic medication for the bowels. It does cause drowsiness, though. It can stop the pain if it stops the spasms, but it is not specifically a pain medication, no.
Avatar n tn Coffee will just aggravate anxiety. All these drugs can cause drowsiness. Lexapro also makes me tired. Usually it goes away with time, or it doesn't, or it turns into insomnia or it doesn't. Drugs are weird. You can try taking adaptogens such as eleuthero and ashwagandha -- they will help energize you as well as help your body adapt to stress. Spirulina or wheat grass are very high in B12 and chlorophyll, and might give you more energy as well without the nervousness of caffeine.
Avatar n tn It's also really important to note, these drugs don't work overnight, other then heavy anti-psychotics.. Lithium is a fantastic drug and it works fairly fast. I went rapidly downhill when I was finally weaned off the Cymbalta that I was on. Don't change the meds at all until you speak with her psychiatrist. Some drugs, especially the anti-psychotics can make a person quite drowsy at first, but it's better then her outbursts right?? The Lith is safe, very very safe.
1070971 tn?1299614110 I am having really bad constipation (I have used miralax and oral saline laxatives and that does not even work). I was fine with GI with the 15mg but was increased to 30mg due to daytime drowsiness. I was thinking of cutting it down tonight since my stomach hurts so bad! Any thoughts? I can deal with the daytime drowsiness but not the stomach problem!
Avatar f tn Her OB and PCP told her that taking her clarinex was OK. She is miserable without it and right now has a wicked cold. I have been reading now that clarinex is OK to take and other sites saying it is not OK. She is 21 weeks right now. Why would they say it is OK if it isn't? Thanks for any info.
Avatar m tn per se, although it can initially cause drowsiness, which many people find to be a bonus, if their anxiety has caused sleep disturbances. If you find it is causing drowsiness, make sure you are taking it at night. If your doctor ordered it to be taken in the morning, give him/her a call, and ok a change in dosing times to the evening.
Avatar f tn I have tried melatonin but I still end up waking up and am always tired in the morning. Does anyone have any advice or medicines they can recommend that will help????
