bactroban

616582 tn?1225068601 My doctor put me on Bactrim for a sinus infection. I have had a slight reaction to it in the past. A couple hours after taking it I started getting a really bad itch on my penis. The skin under the helmet also swelled way up and it hurts a bit. I've taken Bactrim about 5 days now and the skin directly under the lip of the helmet has been peeling and is really sore. My doc says I'm not alleric to Bactrim and this is a coincidence but I'm not sure.
Avatar f tn My family has a history of being allergic to sulfa products, so I was wondering if the numbness and tingling and burning sensation could be an allergic reaction to the bactroban, or maybe I am getting some sort of infection. All of these symptoms have become increasingly uncomfortable in the past few days. And my pulse has steadily been around 120. Any ideas?
1177551 tn?1263970361 Hi Everyone....okay so I am going to be fifteen next month, but for the past year or so I have been getting these huge red swollen bumps, on the inner part of my upper thighs. Like I said; red and swollen, and they are very sensitive to touch. Sometimes, if enough heat is applied, I can pop them, but they never fully do the job. When they pop by themselves, it is very painful and they leave a purple-ish colored scar.
Avatar m tn ENT said I had some colonies in nose soUsed Bacrtoban for 3 days and slight pain in my nose went away per ENT. I stopped the bactroban after 3 days because I was not sleeping but I was also using Nasocort and maybe that was the culprit. Cold gone sinus not infected but having some pain that feels like a tooth ache and slight tickle or sting in nostrils when breathing. Left septum is a little enlarged.
Avatar f tn Also, I have been off the pill for about a month and a half and no yeast infection:) so far so I'm guesing I eliminated the culprit. I also take acidophilus pretty regulary could I still have possible candida overgrowth? Ive searched the symptoms, in which there's a huge array but I have some of them. If it was indeed candida overgrowth wouldn't I have a chronic yeast infection or thrush I believe they call it?
Avatar f tn but its been 2 days since then and i been following the orders but i do not see it getting better, on the contrare it seems to be getting worse.. and how long does it take until it goes back to normal? he's not complaining of pain only when i apply the ointment.
Avatar n tn I have severe rashes now after taking bactrim for 5 days , I had to stop taking it as it made me feel very sick. Many weeks later Istill have these rashes on different parts of the body ...
Avatar f tn I need to get off of these as much as possible and it is in everything! Food, meds, and other various things. Anyone have a website that could help me with this or other that resources?
Avatar f tn I have not seen any problems using tapazole in patients with sulfa allergies.
Avatar m tn I used the mupiricin.(Bactroban) to keep the nasal blisters moist. Now diagnosed with post-herpetic neuralgia, but I still have blisters in my nose treating with Bactroban. The original sore that was on my cheek never dried out, instead shrinking from the Bactroban. I am still suffering these and other new symptoms and I wonder if the original sore might be keeping the virus active since it never naturally resolved. Someone PLEASE help me. Thank you.
Avatar f tn It is located on my cheek and I recently had a test for cold sores and it came back negative, but I put cold sore cream by chemists own (aciclovir 5%) on it and that seems to work. What is it?? I remember placing Bactroban on it which seemed to speed up the healing process, could this cold sore cream help a bacterial infection or could bactroban help a cold sore? Please help P.
Avatar f tn During this time I have also developed Psoriatic Arthritis and have been put on a Sulfa Drug. They have been monitoring my blood work up close for the past 3 months and have noted that my white cell count is low most of the time. The highest it has been in these past months is the bottom end of normal, but lingering around 3.0. Also, my red cell count is down a bit too around 3.8.
Avatar f tn However, I feel my skin is not as healthy as before since that. In the past, as I have dry skin, I have no ances on my face. But right now, even though I still have dry skin, I can always find out some little ances wounded by the shaver, sometimes they are serious, sometimes not. My skin got many ance scars. How stupid I am! I do not know what is the mater with my skin? Do I have folliculitis or Sycosis? Or the overdosed Bactroban make my skin like that? Or any other problems?
Avatar f tn Are you talking about the antibiotic eye ointment? I refused them for my baby, and while they weren't thrilled it wasn't really an issue. I was 100% sure i didn't have any studs. I wrote it in my birth plan and reminded the nurses, and they just documented that I refused them.
Avatar f tn I recently took him into the Dr and they prescribed Bactroban and said to put Eucerin lotion on it inbetween Bactroban treatments for 10 days. It does not seem to be healing up. I am not sure if it is because he bothers it and is keeping it from healing. Is there anything else I can be doing to help this cut heal and close?
Avatar n tn s unlikely that you would get hiv from a single exposure, although it does happen (i think it is something like a (1 in 500 chance). You have to think about the possibility that your nerves are adding to some your symptoms.
Avatar n tn Sulfa drugs were commonly used against Gonorrhea and Chlamydia in the 30's and 40's and still remain effective against Chlamydia....not so much against Gonorrhea. However, resistance to sulfa drugs has steadily increased and typically treatment for one includes treatment for the other.. and today Chlamydia is usually treated with doxycycline.
Avatar f tn I would say that it potentially could be caused by the sulfa medication. Sulfa drugs have an effect on every body system. If it continues, call the doctor that prescribed to make sure he/she doesn't want to see you.
Avatar n tn A topical antibiotic cream, mupirocin (Bactroban®), has been effective at reducing bacterial colonization in the nostrils. It is applied twice daily for a week and is repeated every 6 months. Let us know if you need any other information and consult a skin specialist if the lesion is persistent. Regards.
Avatar m tn Yesterday I received a Lipo-Plex injection (B12 with Lipotropics) that contains Methionine a sulfur containing amino acid. I have a Sulfa allergy (normally get an extremely high fever). Should I be worried? I haven't had any side effects. Feeling a little flushed (hot) but that is about it. Otherwise I feel great. Can I continue with these shots? Thanks!
1666982 tn?1445198395 How often do you apply bactroban? And do you also apply it into your nostrils? I also have the same problem.
Avatar f tn Diamox and weight loss for overweight individuals are typical first-line treatment approaches. You seem to have a true allergy to sulfa, and reactions to Diamox are a definite possibility. The cardiac drug Digoxin has been reported to lower the cerebrospinal pressure as well and has been beneficial for patients with your disease.
Avatar f tn Some background information: I'm on birth control and we used a condom which did not break. I did start a Sulfa antibiotic on December 2nd for acne. Okay so I had sex the morning of January 5th then started my period that night. My period lasted till December 8. My cycle runs as an averange 28 day cycle. Last night January 20 when I went to the bathroom I noticed a really light pink discharge and 2 streaks of bright red blood. I have not had it happen again since.
Avatar f tn 1. Yes, it is true that you will not necessarily have a reaction to HCTZ if you have a sulfa allergy. A small percentage of people (< 15%) do have cross-reactivity to HCTZ when they have a sulfa allergy. If you have had a severe reaction to sulfa antibiotics then we would probably recommend avoiding HCTZ.
