Dipyridamole metabolism

Common Questions and Answers about Dipyridamole metabolism

aggrenox

Avatar n tn ECG last month showed SVES, RBBB. This week he has stress test with dipyridamole protocol, and injection of thallium-201. The result showed "evidence of mild, small to medium size, irreversible perfusion defect in the inferior/inferolateral wall (mid to basal level)." Could you explain what this means? Does he need to have surgery or pacemaker? thanks in advance for your help.
Avatar m tn The adverse effects experienced are similar to those with use of adenosine. While adverse effects are less frequent with dipyridamole (47% of patients), they tend to be more serious than those associated with adenosine. The most common adverse effects of dipyridamole are chest pain (19%), headache (12%), and hypotension (4.6%). In addition, 12% of patients require aminophylline for reversal of adverse effects.
Avatar f tn Persantine is dipyridamole, but you will have to get extended release tablets as the two asprin and dipyridamole should not be taken together. Don’t change the medications without discussing with your doctor. So, consult him and then decide. Hope this helped and do keep us posted.
Avatar m tn What is nonreversible apical inferior wall and what does it mean when they say no dipyridamole-induced reversible ischemia .there is mild defect in the apical inferior wall that is not reversible at rest.
Avatar m tn While you are taking Aggrenox (aspirin/dipyridamole), you should avoid taking over-the-counter pain medicine, especially any other products containing aspirin or non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). Also, Avoid alcohol, or drink a minimal amount, as the combination of Aggrenox and alcohol could cause stomach bleeding.
Avatar n tn Some of the alternatives include aspirin, Clopidogrel (Plavix), ticlodipine (Ticlid), dipyridamole (Persantine). Another alternative is Heparin injection. Different situations require different levels of anticoagulation. It is important to discuss the best treatment option with a physician.
Avatar f tn I suffered a mild stroke (blood clot) Consultant prescribed Clopidogrel but cannot tolerate side effects. Then consultant prescribed Dipyridamole. I cannot tolerate this either. Severe headache, vomiting and diarrhoea. Has anybody got a different medication they are on?
Avatar m tn Does anyone know if having your Gallbladder removed slows down your metabolism? or does it speed it up? What have you experienced?
Avatar f tn If you really want to kick-start your metabolism, you may also try dividing your meals up into smaller portions that you eat more often throughout the day. Every time you eat, it helps your metabolism rise, so as strange as it may sound, eating frequently can help you lose weight or maintain a healthy weight. Take care!
1203175 tn?1265553335 Anyone know how to kick start your metabolism so you start losing pounds, other than weight loss medications? Will not use those.
1397290 tn?1357777871 Calorie-intake should be according to your physical activity. 2800-3000 is quite a lot, which if you don't gain of it, you should perhaps seek professional aid.
Avatar n tn False negative imaging is especially common when exercise is submaximal or in dipyridamole/adenosine studies of patients with severe obstructions of all three major coronary vessels. False positive scanning may be caused by signal attenuation from an elevated left hemidiaphragm or from breast tissue. These artifactual defects can be identified by performing a gated perfusion study to assess regional wall motion.
Avatar m tn Pharmacological stress Tc-99m MIBI scan was performed with Dipyridamole given at arate of 0.14 mg/Kg/min over 4 minutes followed by injection of radio tracer 6 minutes later. Findings are: Peak stress images revealed hypoperfused infero-septal and apical segment, which showed reversal at rest. Impression: Findings are consistent with infero-septal and apical reversible ischemia. Thanks all!
Avatar m tn The last couple years I have been watching myself so closely. I have noticed that hypo mania causes me to eat a lot and depressive states I hardly eat for days. I weight the same in my 40's as I did in my mid teens, most of the time. I normally weigh about 180 and am pretty fit, but months of mania in India lead to extreme situations that landed me at 130 pounds. I am trying to see if my appetite changes and then my mood, or if my mood affects my appetite.
Avatar n tn I have trouble gaining weight because i have a super fast metabolism. I way 102 (wich is a good weight for my age) and i eat ALOT. My friends make fun of me for being skinny, i mean my legs look so skinny that my little brother mad fun of me which REALLY hurt my feelings. I am also nicknamed pencil because I DON'T have "curves" or "hips" and my ankles and calfs are super skinny.I hate being called that.
Avatar f tn I'm not sure to whom you are addressing your question. I haven't done a lot of research on the subject, but since hypothyroidism does affect metabolism, I'd guess that alcohol metabolism would be altered, just as food metabolism is altered.
Panda I used to walk on my breaks where I worked several years ago, but since I got let go, I just can't seem to get back into the routine. I'm a yo-yo dieter and am constantly trying to lose weight. How can I rev up my metabolism? I've gone to Weight Watchers and love their program(s), but right now I'm not financially able to attend and my weight has crept up to 195 (again). I also need to do exercises that fit my health issues (bladder leakage; 25 lb weight limit, etc).
Avatar f tn Talk to doctor he said my metabolism has slowed due to the med, as well as low estrogen, Any advice? weight is at stand still even with exercise and moderate food intake, water.
Avatar n tn m assuming my carnitine miracle has something to do with fat and/or sugar metabolism, and that whatever malfunction I have is probably outside the resources of my HMO. My question is if there's any reason to follow up with a doctor to try to find out what's going on, or should I just be happy that I apparently have my life back. Any suggestions are appreciated. Thank you.
Avatar f tn Metabolism is another way of thinking about the rate at which calories are burned. Heavier people interestingly have higher metabolisms than smaller people do, because they require more calories over the course of a day to maintain their body's functions. I generally don't recommend supplements to increase one's metabolism, but small amounts of caffeine as well as catechins contained in green tea will boost metabolism a bit.
Avatar m tn Thanks for posting. Her issue doesn't seem to be related to any of those things. She has been eating healthy, exercising, etc. Just had a physical and no thyroid issues, bloodwork normal. As expected, the doctor had trouble believing the story.
Avatar m tn I'm 17 and for as long as I can remember I have had problems with my metabolism in the sense that i can't stand sugar, dairy products but also in the sense of that i have on average 4 bowel movements a day and it is really starting to interfere with my life. These days how long I can go and hang out with my friends is very limited because I am constantly nervous that I will have to run to the nearest bathroom at a moments notice.
