However, I have trouble sleeping, dry skin/hair, loosing hair, early menopause, fuzzy thinking, headaches(migraines), fatigue, increased difficulty losing weight, muscle cramps and frequent muscle aches(on meds for arthritis), irritability etc. All seem to be symptome of hypothyroidism, yet my endo will not even try a low dose synthroid. I am taking Diovan HCT and the few things I have read, say it can skew the results. I am at my wits end in trying to feel better.
They usually hit me 2 or 3 times a night and when I wake in the morning time, I am soar all over from muscle fatigue. I have had mri and ct of the brain, neck and abdominal and chest areas, all kinds of blood work, colonoscopy and everything comes back normal. The only thing the ct showed was a hemangioma on my L2 vertebrae. I am on diovan hct for blood pressure and simvastatin for cholesterol. My vision has even changed a little bit in my right eye.

i have do two hart valve replacement when i was 18 , i was fine now and now i am 35 , in 2013 i checked my EF it was 44% so it still ok for someone with my condition in 2015 i check it agin and it is now 28% , my doctor give my Co-Diovan half pill every day , and ask to check after 6 month but he didn't look good when talking to me.
now i am very stressed , i have 3 kids and i want to improve my EF can any one let me know what i can do ?

For three weeks of consistently avoiding gluten the BP has stayed in the healthy range. I diminished the Diovan HCT to nothing and plan in August after more walking and careful diet to have another fasting blood sugar done since I am hoping the high reading was due to the hydroclorothiazine and not belly fat, obesity and a family history of type 2 diabetes. So what's my question?
I am taking 160 mg Diovan for high blood pressure, as well as 20 mg Levostatin for high cholesterol. I believe that I have ed caused by the Diovan. Is it safe to take ed drugs as well?
Asthma, an unconfirmed dx of inclusion body myositis or polymyositis (dx at the same time during hospitalizations), I was on steroid treatment, so did not do the muscle biopsy. All dx were backed up by clinical picture and bloodwork. Also anemic ++.
I have just had my annual blood work results come in, and my cholesterol is rising, inspite of dietary changes. Total cholesterol is 218, HDL 64 and LDL 135, LDL/HDL ratio 2.11, chol/HDL ratio 3.41.
3 months ago I was at 230lbs, and I would always get these pains in my chest and my heart would beat fast. Current weight 207lbs.
Cardiologist said I have too many extra beats and put me on Atenolol on Tuesday. But he doesn't know about my history of HBP from my family doctor. My BP had always been high since last year. Untill now my Family doctor put me on Diovan 80mg plus Cardiologist put me on Atenolol 50mg.
Can High Blood pressure cause PVC's?
I had taken Toprolol when much younger and in normal sinus rhythm (then it too was 50mg SR) and it had no side effects that I can recall, I was still running for exercise.
You might want to discuss using a calcium channel blocker to lower blood pressure.

I have left ventricular hypertrophy with hyperdnamic systolic function. I have shortness of breath and chest pain with exercise or climbing stairs, and sometimes swollen legs. I was told it was diastolic heart failure. EF is normal to above normal. Left ventricle is stiff. Cath results are: pcwp: 23mm, pulmonary artery 45/23 mm, right atrium mean 17mm, right ventricle 45/17 mm, lvedp is 23mm. I don't know what these numbers mean.

I am a 54 year old male. I have high blood pressure and have been on medication for about 2 years now. I started taking Diovan 40 mg about 3 years ago, but my doctor thought it wasn't working so he increased it to 160 mg. After a while, I started feeling dizzy or light headed and We decided to cut down diovan to 80 mg. the dizziness went away for a few monts then it came back and was getting worse. I made a big mistake of stopping the Diovan all together.
Many medications can cause acid reflux, at the point where your esophagus meets your stomach is a valve or spichtner valve, this valve allows food and liquid to enter your stomach, but is not supposed to allow any acids to back up into the esophagus, Certain medications (Blood Pressure and others) relax this muscle and it stays open, when the acid rises back up into the esophagus it burns or irritates the lining of the esophagus causing chest pains that are often mistaken for heart problems.
However rarely diovan may cause muscle breakdown as a side effect which may cause achy legs. I would advise getting your symptoms evaluated by your doctor for the possibility and if diagnosed as the reason, it is advised to switch to other group of medications like ACE inhibitors for blood pressure control. You may like to discuss the possibility with your doctor.
