I am also on pravastatin 20 mg. I find diltiazem/xarelto interaction in only one place. Abt 10 days ago, started having diarrhea or several loose bm's per day. If this continues should I call the cardio doc re this problem or go see gastro doc?. I have had pancreatitis in past so have a gastro doc.
Atenolol can and often does have an additive affect when taken along with other beta blocking meds.
In my case, even though the Atenolol was only 25 mg, it was enough to cause several heart pauses (flatlines) of 3 to 4 second durations detected via an event recorder.
Regarding the interaction between Diltiazem and Tambocor, this is from drugs.com:

In my experience the Adco-Simvistatim is not a good Statin - not as strong as the original: Lipitor. I also have familial-high-cholestorol and have been on Lipitor since my early 20's and for the past 6 years I was on 20-40-60mg Nexium.
The 6 months that I was on Simvistatim, my Trigs went up and when I changed to Lipitor, my levels came down and is still under control.
Just check your levels again in about 3 months, but try to get Lipitor/Aspavor instead.
It is easy to find information regarding drug-drug interactions for omeprazole (Prilosec) and atorvastatin (Lipitor). The omeprazole appears to increase the bioavailability of the statin, increasing the risk of side effects. Does this mean that the interaction is like taking a higher dose of the statin, which would provide benefit for someone like me who only takes a low dose (10mg atorvastatin daily) and has no statin tolerance issues?
This med is generic for Lipitor, as you probably already know. I've researched and there is nothing about anger problems. The best thing to do is ask your Dr or pharmacist if this could be a possible interaction.
When did you start the Zoloft? I'm asking because anger and personality chances could be a side effect of this med.
I got worried so I looked up sudden sweats on the internet and found it could be a sign of a heart attack. THis scared me very much and so I got a little panicky and got more flushed and got the feeling I recognize when people have told me I look pale.
The sweats lasted about 5 minutes and the panicky feeling came and went for hours. The episode and the feat associated with it are combined enough so I can't completely tell them apart.

It really depends on what you need. If this has been prescribed for you, and you are uncertain about it, then you can always ask your doctor for more clarification. It really just all depends on your individual circumstances.
I have been taking Lipitor for the last 10 years and lately I have developed muscle pains. I was told the pain might be because of the Lipitor. I stopped taking them for a couple of months, the pain was much less however my cloestrol level was back to 290.

There is much controversy about cholesterol, but it is muted because of pharmaceutical financial interests in statins. Half of those who die of strokes or heart attacks have no history of high cholesterol. DeBakey discounted cholesterol. My own doctor pays no attention to it. What is the true role of cholesterol and how should one proceed? I don't know, but I won't take Lipitor.
The Lipitor package insert recommends that a test of your liver function should be done prior to and at 12 weeks following both the start of therapy with Lipitor and any increase of dose, and periodically (for example, every six months) thereafter. If there are any changes in your liver function, drinking alcohol may make it worse.
People taking lipitor are recommended to avoid alcohol in their diet because it raises the triglyceride levels, another lipid which is a risk factor for heart disease. Going to soft drinks would be far more beneficial for your body obviously but if this is impossible I would switch your lipitor to the mornings. Lipitor, unlike some statin drugs, can be taken any time of the day.
If hypothyrodism can cause high cholesterol is it not better to take thyorid hormone replacement than Lipitor?
He prescribed Zarelto, Diltiazem and Amodarone. I asked that the gastro dr and cardio doctor consult and supposedly they did....but I don't feel real confident since they are in opposing hospitals. My husband and I are not real keen on these added drugs when the real problem is the harsh side effects from the Incivek. Do any of you have any insight into this. The cardio guy wants to see him in FOUR weeks....hell that is a long time to take extra medicines that might not be needed..
Have you asked a pharmacist? I trust them because they specialize in the chemistry of the medications. The doctors just prescribe them with the knowledge that this pill goes for that disease.
Some pills (and definitely capsules) have a protective coating on them so they dissolve in the proper part of the digestive system. If they dissolve too early, you may experience unpleasant side effects. Some are made to trickle into the system over a long period and they shouldn't be cut and damaged.
I have suffered with taking diltiazem(180 mg ER) AND metoprolol (50 mg ER) for atril fibrillation for the past two and a half years. The side effects have been debilitating.. Both drugs have the same side effects and together and one or the other or both create what I can only describe as chaotic turbulence in my chest and pain in my left arm when the second drug kicks in.. My cardiolgist now wants me to add a blood thinner (xarelto) to my meds menu.
Not all of us respond the same to the same medications. The indapamide worked better for you than the dilitazem so it only makes sense to stay w/the indapamide and forego the diltiazem since your doctor obviously didn't consider the indapamide and diltiazem a good combinantion.
I understand about uninsured doctor visits. We lost our family doctor of some 30 years and got a rude shock when we started doctor shopping!!! From a standard $35 office call to a $150 initial office call!!!!!
