I have never heard of this or treated a yeast infection with diflucan like this before and am starting to think this doctor I saw was a quack/slave to drug company kind of doctor. Has anyone ever been prescribed diflucan this way?
I've taken 2 Diflucan tablets one one friday and one on Saturday. Monday i started bleeding my period is not due for another week.

Your treatment kit should have come with a pamphlet. Try reading over that to make sure you've used the treatment properly. It sounds like you might not have used it properly.
She put me on Diflucan, and I took both doses and STILL had the YI. I heard your body can be resistant to Diflucan, so I got OTC Monistat and...of course I still have the itching and some discharge. It's not as intense, but it's still annoying. I've been tested for diabetes, and my gyno asked me if I've been tested for HIV, which concerned me. I was tested for everything in the beginning of the year, and I'm pretty sure I wasn't exposed to HIV.

It looked like there were only problems in pg rabbits given this drug for over 3 months with high doses. I would call your OB's office and ask to speak to either a nurse, midwife or your doctor. Sometimes you just need reassurrance.
Please help me find relief! I have recurrent yeast infections monthly. I have gotten one a month since I gave birth to my last child in November. I have been to my gynecologist multiple times for this issue and I get no where. I call every month and get a diflucan pills & it usually always clears it up quickly, however, this month has been AWFUL! I am currently dealing with another yeast infection which is much worse this time.

The third day I called my dr, and he prescribed me diflucan. (I have been on the diflucan for 5 days and the itchyness has almost gone away)
The fourth day I was no better but I noticed a bad smell.
The fifth day I went to my gyno to get a vaginal culture. I am waiting for the results still.
The sixth day I noticed the itchiness stopping. However I did notice little bumps inside the labia majora .
The seventh day, today, I am still in pain, and the bumps grew and are hard.
So yesterday I took one dose of diflucan which is an antibiotic when I looked up the interactions it said it has a major reaction with xanax... its been over 12 hours since I took the diflucan... does anyone know if I can start taking my xanax now.
since then i have been to my gyno who cultured my yeast infection and said best medication for it was diflucan, so he also prescribed me to diflucan for 7 days-never went away. then he again prescribed me diflucan 150 once for 3 weeks. never went away!!!
this is my first yeast infection so i dont know why diflucan will not cure me. i am 22 years old, smoke and drink on the weekends, work out regularly, work nights, recently pretty stressed.
I have had 6 rounds of diflucan to no avail. My urology dr is at a loss. Should I be seeing an infectious disease dr at this point? When I take diflucan I feel better quickly. Once I stop within a few days I feel terrible again. They prescribe diflucan for 14 days. Had it 6 x’s. Always comes back. No bacteria grows in urine. m currently treating a vaginal yeast infection and was wondering what your experiences were with Diflucan? How long does a typical yeast infection last? The itching and burning have subsided, and I took my first diflucan pill Sunday (doc gave me 4). I'm also using Vagisil for itching and irritated skin! Thanks!
I took an std test for chlamydia and gonnorea and they both came back negative but the doctor gave diflucan thinking it might be a yeast infection. It worked for about a week and then the burning came back. The doctor then gave me doxycycline( 10 days 2 pills easch day) and said that this should work. It works a little but he said it might take a week and its been six days. I have a couple of questions.

question ladies...i took my diflucan pill on monday, but i wanted to know is a white discharge a side effect of the pill? i have taking diflucan multiple times before, but i never bothered those times to actually look and see what was going on down there. this time i did and it seems like a white discharge is coming out...someone told me that was the yeast mixing w/the medicine coming out. is that true?
Hi...candida is yeast and it can cause all types of issues...DIFLUCAN is one of the best meds I know to help rid someone of excess yeast. There r also diet changes that can also help.....
I am prone to yeast infections when taking antibiotics, and DIFLUCAN is the only thing that helps.
As far as dosage, sorry I can not help...I would suggest asking a Pharmacist as they know meds and interaction and reactions better then most drs.

I thought I was having a yeast infection and took diflucan 10 days ago which majorly lessened symptoms. The symptoms never went away fully so my doc called in another diflucan today. I decided to take a look with a magnifying mirror and saw what looked to possibly be a few very small lesions just under the clitoris they are not painful to the touch and look exactly the same as they did ten days ago.
I have had intense vaginal itching for a couple of weeks now. I went to my gyno and she said I definitely had a yeast infection and gave me 2 Diflucan. I've taken both, and I STILL have this intense itch. It doesn't last all day, but comes in bouts and it's driving me crazy! There's no odor, and I'm guessing some slight discharge, but I'm not understanding why the Diflucan wouldn't help.
