Diflucan not working

Common Questions and Answers about Diflucan not working

diflucan

Avatar m tn Up until the last couple of weeks, I was doing okay, but I could tell the bicillin shots were not working much or at least not having much impact. That has been slowly fading since mid-December. Morning anxiety has been growing and depression has been worse. And my energy level at about 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. is gone. The fatigue is unbelievable. Also can't think as well with names. Not too bad, but it's there.
Avatar f tn Major pain. Went to urgent care diagnosed with a UTI. Dr gave Cipro, diflucan and AZO. After 3 days they called to say my culture results showed Cipro wasn't the correct meds. Micro bid was the new med. I've had lower abdomen pain since off and on. Is it not working? Do I have a major case of yeast? I took another diflucan thinking it could be yeast pain. Weird pain.....
Avatar f tn I think the combination of the cream not really working for you and having sex so soon after is the cause of your flare-up. Please refrain from sex until you sort this out.
Avatar f tn Dont take diflucan whilst pregnant doctor said its not good for baby but i got canneston cream instead seems to be working so far
Avatar n tn You can probably even take a few days off of using any of the cream. The diflucan will still be working in your system, so you should just let things heal.
Avatar n tn m hoping to see the doctor again soon. I read on the internet that Fluconazole is not the most effective medication, and oral Lamisil is better. Is this true? Should I ask for Lamisil when I see the doctor? I'm worried that what I have is not ringworm at all, but then again, it did respond somewhat to the Fluconazole.
Avatar f tn My doc advised that Diflucan is not safe during any period in your pregnancy. Says that the creams are your best bet as they don't cross the placenta. I too have been strugging with a yeast infection caused by antibiotics. I have been using Canesten for 4 weeks now. It gives me relief. I just started taking Acidophillus (probiotic). Seems to be helping (infection not yet gone but am feeling much better). As jess said, probiotics restore the good bacteria so it's worth a try.
Avatar f tn On May 2nd, I was treated for gonnorhea with a shot of rociphine and 1,000 mg azithromycin. About a week later, I went back to my doctor having burning, itching, and irritation. I was given Diflucan to take one pill every other day for 6 days. After finishing that, I still didn't feel better. Called my doctor this time and they told me to buy Monistat 7 and try that to see if symptoms cleared up. After those 7 days, I still wasn't feeling better.
Avatar f tn So about 2 months ago I had an outbreak and learned I had general herpes. One month ago I developed oral thrush. I have taken a suspension, diflucan, and lozenge and the thrush is not improving. I was concerned there could be something larger wrong since the herpes and thrush issues started. I got a CBC, thyroid, blood sugar, mono and strep test- all results fine. My doctor wants me to go to the ENT next. I had my annual in April and hiv test was negative...
Avatar f tn I’ve been to the obgyn sense I was little like 5 bc of my issues with yeast infections and bacterial. If not it could be a urologist problem not a vagina problem.
Avatar n tn I should also note that I have not had sex since showing symptoms so I know I am not being reinfected by a male partner.
Avatar f tn No not yet i have an app in a couple of days
Avatar m tn I read a old post that Jackie has had bad problems with yeast in the past. I was hoping she or anyone else would give me some insight on this. I have had it in my mouth for 6 months. My GP is the only doctor that has tried anything to help me. I have taken a ton of anti-fungal meds. They haven't touched the problem. One doctor, without looking at my mouth, said it's a part of your immune system not working well. Then he didn't give me anything.
Avatar f tn I've had diabetes for almost 40 years, I'm IN my 40's, a female married to same man (thus one sexual partner) for over 25yrs. My GP recently dx'd me w/double ear infection & put me on Omnicef (I am an SJS survivor so antibiotics are a dangerous area for me as I developed SJS after taking Bactrim.. for an ear infection, no less!
Avatar n tn I dunno. I guess it's just a case of irrational anxiety that my partner may have had HIV because he also maybe had oral yeast. I know, tenuous connection at best, and I know my chance of HIV exposure was fairly low relatively speaking (2 minutes of unprotected insertive anal). But I have another 49 days to wait before I can take an oral HIV test... a long time to get anxious i guess.
Avatar n tn ) -early may...STILL not ANY better (symptoms appear to get slightly better for a day or two, then come back)....went back to primary care who then perscribed a ten day course of diflucan...it FINALLY seemed to be working... - i would say it was about 80% better by day ten, so i asked for a refill because it still wasn't all better....
Avatar n tn I took the Diflucan. Day 5 i got my period. What do i do now?? And can i re-fill my Diflucan to take when i am thru with the antibiotic?? And really no tampons?? at all??
Avatar f tn I would make an appointment with another doctor for a second opinion or go back to your doctor if the creams are not working. There are different types of yeast infections as well. I can not use monistat and need to use gyno lotrimin when ever I have a yeast infection. The doctor may also prescribe a stronger cream for you other then over the counter that works very well.
Avatar n tn you most likely have BV and need prescription meds!
1386448 tn?1280896286 I was treated with Diflucan for my very first yeast infection ever, I took the pill last Thursday. I actually didn't even know i had one until a seen the doc for painful intercourse ( i had no smell, discharge..etc). Should I make a follow up appointment? I just feel wet all the time, its worse in the morning when I first wake up. Could this be yeast die off or normal symptoms of the drug? I just dont know because I've never had one before.
