Diflucan lyme disease

Common Questions and Answers about Diflucan lyme disease

diflucan

1692704 tn?1307211780 I was on Sam-e years ago before I knew it was Lyme Disease. I couldn't take it because it made me more anxious. You do have to be careful with the higher doses because I believe it can build up in your system, but please don't quote me on this. As far as the low dose antibiotics, I am fearful that the bacteria will have a chance to get resistant with the low doses and that is my main complaint. I guess I should just trust my doctor. Thanks for the reply...
Avatar m tn No, I'm not taking anything now. I took 2 bottles of nystatin with no improvement. I have had this for 5 months. Yes, I had blood work that showed me positive for RMSF. Also tested for lyme by infectious disease doctor and GP. Both negative. I remember last May having a very bad bite on my upper hip. I showed it to my doctor and he said it looked inflamed and I needed some antibiotics, but then said I had just been on some for sinus infection.
1423392 tn?1286590390 m starting my 2nd phase of treatment getting off some of my current medicines and adding some new ones. My LLMD started treating me first for Babs, and Lyme but we are starting treatment for Bart. I'm little neverous reading the side effects some of the medicine.. Levofloxacian the waring that scares me is the increase risk of tendon problems that included pain, swelling, inflamation and possible breakage..Did many of you experience any of these side effects???
Avatar f tn I believe that chronic Lyme patients will benefit from a biofilm buster not because of Lyme Disease research, but because of other research into biofilms, like the promising work going on in BC. Sorry I don't have a simple answer to your question. There are some supplements that are claimed to help break up biofilms, but I don't know if they're scientifically proven or not. I read good things about Nattokinase, so I've been taking it faithfully for several months now.
Avatar f tn Anyway, glad you are feeling better. Did you test positive for Lyme Disease?
640719 tn?1277140030 Starting large long doses of antibiotic's tomorrow for my lyme disease and wondering if it is going to cause me a problem with my thyroid meds?
Avatar f tn My doctor gave me some anifungal cream thinking it was ringworm but the cream is not helping it at all. I was also put on Diflucan unrelated to the rash so that alone should have (?) taken care of it. The border of the rash is raised and when inflamed (border) it itches like crazy. The center is very smooth but some days a little scaly (perhaps from the steroid creams). Does this look like it could be from Lyme?
Avatar m tn If you search 'ketoconazole' online, the first link that popped up for me is from the NIH (National Institutes of Health in DC) and the second one is from the website 'rxlist', which is pretty good imo at explaining medical/scientific/pharmaceutical stuff at a high level but not completely over my head. Rxlist seems pretty well balanced, and I usually go there when curious about some medication I'm supposed to take.
Avatar f tn Olive leaf is best known for being a good antiviral, a mild antibiotic, probably a mild antifungal. Better for yeast, though, is oregano oil, pau d'arco. Other antibiotics are goldenseal, colloidal silver. Lyme disease has to be understood as three separate things: first, the tick bite, and it has to be a deer tick, but most people still won't get Lyme disease. Second, getting Lyme disease, but most people who get it will just get a little ill for a while and that's it.
Avatar f tn Ricobord, If you have a reduced sense of taste, it's very likely you have a zinc deficiency. It's extremely common in Lyme disease. You need Zinc for an incredible number of enzyme systems, as well as the immune system.
Avatar f tn It is crucial to educate yourself and search out a Lyme-literate doc. Most W. docs are in denial of the disease and also don't know how to treat it. It is not uncommon for the person w. Lymes to be told it is all in their head. You also need to use labs who specialize in this disease. Do your research online. I rec. the Buhner's bks, Dr. R. Horowitz bk, and some online groups.
Avatar f tn I have finally been diagnosed with Lyme Disease after years of going from doctor to doctor. I finally found one who kept running tests until she found the problem. I had radioactive iodine 4 years ago and have never been right andin fact been worse and worse. I have adrenal fatigue, lyme, yeast, etc. I have gained 40 pounds in the last year. I am on antibiotics and mepron. Will the weight go away as I am treated. I just started antibiotics in mid December.
Avatar f tn So am on diflucan. I want to try and keep the lyme at bay. I read that you used Cats claw to help with the lyme. Did it help you? Did you herx from it? Janice PS: You do an awesome job answering everyones questions here.
Avatar n tn Similar observations have been made in Lyme Disease and other chronic diseases where multiple infections occur. Finally, we have always stressed that patients should get off antibiotics as soon as they can and go to more natural treatments using herbs and natural supplements.
Avatar f tn I see one of the side effects are lowed white blood cells and right now mine are 2.9. Idk why theyre so low. Prob the lyme..? I am not used to have a LOW white count..
Avatar m tn Thanks for answering me so soon. My doctor started me on diflucan at 150 mg then added nystatin. He later said the diflucan wasn't strong enough. I'm now on 400mg a day. My eyes and lips are so dry. Could this be because of the diflucan? I was worried because it was still here after 6 months. I see you had to stay on it for months. I will see if I can find Yeast Cleanse online. I feel like the yeast and the diflucan are a big part of why I feel so bad.
Avatar f tn Well after the positive lyme test, their daughter refused to accept the lyme diagnosis and treatment for lyme. Why ? Because she was already addicted to painkillers and I think the lyme disease had by then affected her decision making (as well as all of the drugs she had been taking). This young woman had been taking so many painkillers, that when the producers and camera crew arrived at her apartment to film her, they found her unconscious on the floor.... glass shattered around her !
Avatar f tn Are positive Lyme Disease Titers registered in the chronic stage of the disease?
Avatar m tn Many docs say it is, but there is a substantial minority opinion that Lyme is a much more complex disease than run-of-the-mill infections and requires much longer treatment, because the Lyme bacteria have particular characteristics that allow them to evade a short course of abx: the Lyme bacteria have a very slow reproductive cycle, and antibiotics are effective mostly when the bacteria are dividing, therefore a longer course of treatment is called for, as is done in tuberculosis (usual treat
Avatar m tn I was tested for lyme disease over a year ago by my family physician. Test results came back negative. I was reading an article in a magazine concerning symptoms of lyme disease and everything listed as symptoms I seem to have. I am trying to find a specialist in my area who is knowledgable in this area. Should I have another blood test done to see if things have changed?
Avatar f tn And what I meant by doing another western blot is that ive read sometimes doctor give you a trail run of antibiotics if they are not sure if you have Lyme Disease and it might produce a positive IgG if I did have lymes disease...
Avatar m tn like this because I stay very active and eat well. Does it seem possible that I could have Lyme Disease even though my tests have been negative?
326184 tn?1348809108 If you have Lyme disease, can it cause lesions in the brain..? could it be Lyme disease? Is a test for this done when ms is suspected or does it have to be ask for? Thank you in advance for any responses.. I have joined many different areas on MedHelp under cantsleep2007..
Avatar m tn He has been on Doxycycline for a week now, even though his results for Lyme were negative. Is it normal to have negative results if you do have Lyme disease? Is it normal for a fever to last for weeks. When can he expect to start feeling better? Any info or suggestions are greatly appreciated.
