I've taken 2 Diflucan tablets one one friday and one on Saturday. Monday i started bleeding my period is not due for another week.

In early December I started having sex with a new partner, unprotected (stupid I know, but that's not why I'm here). Well long story short, after the first time we had sex I got a yeast infection. I figured it was because I wasn't adequately lubricated. My OB/GYN prescribed me with Diflucan, I took the dosage and it was gone. We had sex again, yeast infection came back, got another prescription, gone again.
After taking all std test that I can think of, i read about trichamonasis and it symptoms. Will Diflucan treat Trichomonas? It stated that its mostly found in women and is hard to find in men. Most men are treated when their partner is diagnosed with it. I have never tested for it, but I have taken metronidozole twice just in case. Im starting to think that my wife is having yeast infections because of me.
I've had this irritation in the area under my foreskin for over a year now. A fungal cream seems to keep it at bay and I've even taken Diflucan/Fluconazole (200 mg daily) for a week. They seem to help but yet it comes back. It's manageable and I can masturbate (with some temporary redness and slight burning sensation).

I know this is the Women's Health forum, but I've found it increasingly difficult to find other men who have experienced genital recurring yeast infections. I was wondering if anyone who has had experience with such things have any good suggestions on how to cure and prevent recurring yeast infections?
Thanks for your response. I read that trich is hard to detect in men. I'm worries that my results may have been a false negative. My doctor gave me three diflucan pills to take every other day. It seems like the pills are making the symptoms go away. I want to test again but I'm scared it might be positive.
Have been told by a nursing friend that this could be symptoms of a simple thrush infection in men. I've been recommended to get a Diflucan tablet from pharmacy and possibly apply Canesten ointment externally to help clear it up. I'm pleased that it looks like something simple, but having never had any problems down below before, it really did give me quite a scare!
ok I finally found some good yeast pics in men that actually look similar to what I have on my testes and penis base. Most of the pics I could find were were extremely horrible on the head of the penis, which is totally off from I am experiencing
The guy in the pic I just found is like 20 times worse though and even got on his inner thigh. He must have been going through some hell. But i am feeling much better though after just seeing his pictures! Mine is the same only much milder.
Everyone has some candida in their mouth but for him to infect me with it must mean he has abnormal amounts of candida in his mouth, right? Which would make him likely to have HIV or AIDS?
I was tested for HIV two weeks after this encounter, result was negative. I plan to be tested again in early September (12 weeks after possible exposure). So unless my oral HIV test was faulty, I am pretty sure I didn't have HIV when I had sex with this guy.
Your normal bacterial flora in your intestines are getting unbalanced and/or you are losing some organisms due to the antibiotics. You should start taking probiotics. This will help get your normal bacteria back. But I would ask Metametrix if it will cause any problems with their test just to be sure. Also, you can take an oral antifungal but I wouldn't recommend it because they have bad side effects.

He has another appointment for the prostatitis in 10 days and has a long list of questions now to ask his doctor. I have heard that men can carry yeast in the prostate without knowing it until it creates a problem. What I fear is that because his ex fought it for so many years he may have passed me a resistant strain. I had to take 9 days of diflucan to knock it out and have since switched to monostat when it comes back.
Doctor gave me rocephin injection, and put me on zithromax and diflucan prior to the gonorrhea and chlamydial test. I also had HIV testing, syphilis test, and herpes test.I took the zithromax and diflucan but for a week the the symptoms still continued. 4days later Doctor's office called me that they didn't able to process my gonorrhea and chlamydia test due two samples were put in the same tube and that they had to throw away the whole sample.
It does seem likely this started as a yeast infection, which you could have caught from your partner. All women have yeasts in their vaginas some of the time, and men can get infected, especially if uncircumcised. Whether resitant yeast is a continuing problem, or whether it is now complicated by some sort of allergic reaction or other irritation, I cannot say.
I have had uti since 2 years old (kidney reflux) that turned into to major kidney stone problem and I was infected with ESBL ecoli. For the past 2 years I have a fungal infection in my urine. I have had 6 rounds of diflucan to no avail. My urology dr is at a loss. Should I be seeing an infectious disease dr at this point? When I take diflucan I feel better quickly. Once I stop within a few days I feel terrible again. They prescribe diflucan for 14 days. Had it 6 x’s. Always comes back.
I don’t know if it helped but I wasn’t so careful cleaning up after peeing just in case the pee had some more potent amounts of the Diflucan in it. Over washing the area, at this point, could be bad for the situation. Keep soap away for a few days but do rinse with warm water when showering. Also using the Monistat ointment I mentioned above is a good idea.
Since be extra careful, I haven’t had it in ears. I rinse it a few time a day.
since then i have been to my gyno who cultured my yeast infection and said best medication for it was diflucan, so he also prescribed me to diflucan for 7 days-never went away. then he again prescribed me diflucan 150 once for 3 weeks. never went away!!!
this is my first yeast infection so i dont know why diflucan will not cure me. i am 22 years old, smoke and drink on the weekends, work out regularly, work nights, recently pretty stressed.
It has ruined my sex life. I really will like to get to the bottom of this issue in my life so I can have a sex life with my husband. Please help me. So far all the gyn doctors I've went to are not helping me.
